The advanced bartenders course is a practical hands on course, designed with modern bartending at its heart. Throughout this course you will focus on creativity, experimentation & learning. Throughout the week all your learning will focus you towards your end goal of presenting 2 drinks. Drink one will be allocated to you by tutor, you will design & create your own twist on a classic mixed drink family member, this is your chance to put into practice the new skills you have learnt for example infusions, homemade syrups & sherbets. Drink two will be a classic, vintage or forgotten cocktail of your choice, researched & presented with historical context, through research & experimentation you will find a preferred recipe By the end of the advanced bartenders course you will have gained specialist practical cocktail skills that are transferable into any working bar scenario, from independent bar to 5* hotel. Adam formed Shaker as part of a BA & MSc in Business Management & Entrepreneurship coupled with his bartending exploits throughout the UK & Europe. With over a decade of experience throughout the bar industry. Having tended bar for the rich & famous, Freeth has also appeared on TV as an authority on drinks & appeared in national & international trade press. Adam has been responsible for designing dozens of training programs & training over 2000 bartenders since 2001 & has taken the Shaker brand globally, from Hong Kong to Cape Town & St Lucia. 2009 also sees the global launch of Adam’s book titled Professional Bartending, now in its 2nd Edition & sold globally.

Stuart has been working in the drinks industry for over 20 years within varied styles of outlets. Stuart’s early years was working in seaside hotels & then Tenerife nightclubs, but got himself to London & built his professional skills managing the infamous Met Bar, Metropolitan Hotel, producing classic drinks for A list celeb’s & Royalty. His Operational & Training skills have led him to set up & manage high-end establishments including, Met Bangkok, Mandeville Hotel, Intercontinental Park Lane. More recently working with Molson Coors, training staff & consumers in the love of beer & food, although his passion has always been for the classic cocktails & the belief that you don’t have to be a 5 star hotel to offer 5 star drinks & service.

Amit is a veteran bartender & trainer having started his career in the TGI Fridays & Navajo Joe fame of the 90’s & then worked throughout the Maxwell Group in various sites. His experience has taken him around the world with stints in Australia & consulting on projects for the Raffles Hotel Group in Japan, before heading up the Purple Bar at the Sanderson & serving the Queen at the Ritz. As a trainer Amit has been involved in writing & executing various national programs for Diageo, Coors, Coca Cola & Brown Foreman, WIRSPA. With Kenyan roots, combined with his original training as a chef, Amit truly understands balancing flavours using spices & aromatics.
