As a groomer, you should be constantly looking for inspiration for your pet grooming business. Thankfully, we live on a huge planet full of many different areas, each with its own dog grooming niches…
Worldwide, dogs have had many different presences that we all know and love. This can span from workers to fashionistas, to simply an extra family member. You can even see fire dogs and police dogs!
The way we look at dogs has changed drastically as time has passed, and we’ve never stopped appreciating them. This applies to so many places around the world, as we’re constantly bringing them in as more important parts of our lives each day.
There are some cultures that still fear dogs, and they are even considered negative symbols within religion. Even within those countries, you will see a growth in pet ownership. As much as we don’t like to think about it, there are even still many countries today that use dogs as a food source… In China, however, the pet care industry is approaching the highest ranks of anywhere in the world.
One thing that we can all agree on though, is that no matter where you’re from, you are able to make a living from dog grooming. It’s an ever-growing industry, with more and more changes and fashion patterns developing all of the time.
Around the world, you’ll find expanses within vets, apparel and even technology for dogs! Have you ever considered going international? There are so many inspirational things that you could pick up for your salon by doing so. Something I personally can’t get enough of at the moment is Asian fusion, showcased in many events across the UK!
When it comes to products and spending, Americans are currently taking the lead, according to stats from the American Pet Products Association. Apparently, a large quantity of this comes from dog grooming alone!
Some countries, such as Sweden, according to previous Groomers Around the World contributor My Österman (@ myshundsalong on Instagram), aren’t as on top of the latest trends. However, the classics are still going incredibly strong! The fact that the market is still booming over there speaks volumes, and maybe we can all take a leaf out of that book. It can pay off not to overthink things.
The fact that we can share so many things online now holds so much value, as inspiration can spread globally overnight if the right viral content is shared.
