Inter-professional communication happens when health professionals communicate with each other, with patients and their families, and the community. This communication can build trusting, respectful relationships among patients, their families, and health care providers. One of several ways to make good inter-professional communication occur is listening and paying attention to verbal and non-verbal communication. Unfortunately, non-verbal communication is one of the barriers to make it happen, as we know it is important for caring the deaf patients. Deafness is characterized by a variably decreased perception of sound, which makes it difficult to acquire oral language naturally. The deaf community uses sign language as their first communication method, which is one of the factors that generate a feeling of belonging to a culture. Poor communication with them not only decreases the sense of belonging but also may influence diagnosis and treatment.
In accordance with SCOME’s fields of work, the expansion of educational and training opportunities for students to improve the quality of human resources in the face of changes on a local and global scale, it is clear that BTS 4.0, annual event in CIMSA FK Unpad, was established to train candidates of health care professionals inappropriate care for deaf patients. On Sunday, November 22nd, and Wednesday, November 25th, SCOME CIMSA FK Unpad held Breaking The Silence 4.0. This activity began with a webinar on the ethics of communication with patients and fellow health workers by Fedri Ruluwedrata Rinawan, dr., M.Sc.PH, PhD, a lecturer at FK Unpad and CIMSA alumni.
9
Then the activity continued on Wednesday, there was a second webinar session on problems in health services from the perspective of deaf friends and the importance of learning sign language, which was delivered by the chairman of PUSBISINDO, Ms. Laura Lesmana, and translated by Ms. Adhika as JBI. This webinar was followed by a facilitation session, where participants were divided into several rooms to learn basic sign language and anamnesis with teachers from PUSBISINDO. Hopefully, this activity can increase awareness of the importance of learning sign language and produce prospective health workers who can be more optimal in providing health services for deaf friends.

by SCORA CIMSA FK Unpad Breast cancer is a common type of cancer in women. According to WHO in 2018 there are 58.256 cases of breast cancer and followed by cervical cancer with 32.469 cases of the total cancer cases. To commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October SCORA CIMSA FK Unpad held DAYBREAK. We invited some speakers from Love Pink Bandung, PERABOI (Perhimpunan Ahli Bedah Onkologi Indonesia), YKI (Yayasan Kanker Indonesia) Bandung, and Rumah Sakit Hasan Sadikin. The purpose of holding this event is to raise awareness about breast cancer and cervical cancer so that people, especially women, can understand what breast cancer and cervical cancer is, how to detect them, how to prevent them, and how physiological support can impact the patients. This event was held for a whole month in October. First, on 10 October 2020, we held a webinar about the importance of prevention with early detection in breast cancer and cervical cancer. The expert we invited was dr. Kiki Akhmad R., SpB(K)Onk, M.Kes, M.MRS. In this webinar, the expert introduced SADARI (Periksa Payudara Sendiri) to all participants. This examination goal is to detect breast cancer as early as possible.
11
After that, we held a podcast named PACAR Bercerita (Para Cancer Survivor) and it took place on 3 and 17 October 2020. The podcast describes the experience of breast cancer and cervical cancer survivors and the conditions of their mental health in dealing with the disease. The last event was held Live on the Instagram platform on October 24th, 2020. We invited Santi Andayani, dr., SpKJ, MMRS. as a speaker to do a talk show about how psychological support can help breast and cervical cancer patients. Have you heard about the shadow pandemic? 90 countries have been locked down for months to try to limit the spread of the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, but this restriction leads to another problem. An increase in domestic violence around the globe has been reported, which often stayed in the shadow even before the pandemic. To shine a light on this problem, SCORP CIMSA FK Unpad held an activity called SPOTLIGHT (Shadow Pandemic Comes to Light). Along with the partnerships with Yayasan Pulih, UNFPA, and UPT P2TP2A Bandung, we held this activity to raise public knowledge and awareness of the existence of domestic violence is a violation of human rights, where most of the victims are vulnerable people, that is children, women and elderly. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Environment Agency noted an increase in the volume of waste. Based on our preproject assessment, from 104 respondents, 70.2% did not know how to reduce plastic use, 83.7% had insufficient knowledge of environmental pollution due to energy use, 54.8% of the community produced household waste stairs over 1 kg a day, and 68.3% shopping via online 1-3 times a month during a pandemic. To solve these issues, SCORP CIMSA FK Unpad designed LIFE (Little Things for Mother Earth) with four main events held in 30 days. The main events include Grand Opening, 30 Days Challenges, Webinar, and Talk show. LIFE was held to raise awareness and be the initial step for implementing a sustainable lifestyle in the general public and society's life.

In commemorating the World No Tobacco Day on May 31st, SCOPH CIMSA FK Unpad held an activity called AWAKE: A Warning about Youth Smoking Habit. From this activity, we would like to raise the knowledge and awareness of young people, including the students in Universitas Padjajaran about smoking habits, especially the danger, side effects, and how to stop the smoking habit.
In this activity, we did a few interventions. On May 31st, 2020, we celebrated World No Tobacco Day by posting a twibbon on our Instagram Story. On June 12th, 2020, we posted polling on the Instagram account @cimsaunpad. We were happy that the participants showed their enthusiasm, so we gave feedback about the answers by posting an infographic, collaborated with Education Against Tobacco (EAT), that we posted on Instagram @cimsaunpad on June 13th, 2020.
On June 14th, 2020, we held a Live Instagram Talk Show under the theme “Myths and Facts about Smoking, Its Relation to COVID-19”. There were a lot of people who participated in our quiz and also liked and shared our content. We also did a ground campaign to educate our families at home about Diabetes.
For the last intervention, we held a Webinar for almost 200 participants with the overall theme of “All About Diabetes and What We Can Do About It”. For the Webinar, we invited two honorable speakers, Maya Kusumawati, dr., Sp.PD-FINASIM to give a lecture about “Sweet Life without Diabetes” and Dimas Erlangga, dr., M.Kes to give an insight about “The Role of Health Students in Diabetes”, and in the end, we also did a mini talk show with the speakers. Even though we are still in a state of the COVID-19 pandemic, this is not an obstacle for us to do good deeds. From this activity, we hope that the knowledge that has been given in the series of activities that have been carried out can be useful and the participants can apply this knowledge in their daily activities.

OCTOBER MEETING 2020 by Gabriella Metar
As the medical students organization that has been spread all over Indonesia, from Aceh to Jember, CIMSA routinely holds a national meeting every year. One of those is the October Meeting, which is the first meeting held in the new tenure of National Officials, focuses on strengthening the bond between members and socializing the programme that will be brought on in the upcoming period. As a member of CIMSA, attending the National Meeting was a very great opportunity to maximize the organization experience. The 2020’s October Meeting; or OM for short, was held virtually due to the current pandemic situation that required us to reduce a large mass gathering to prevent the COVID-19 spread. Raising the theme “Amplifying CIMSA’s Impact through Annual Mission Statement to Achieve the SDGs 2030 Agenda’, the event was held in six days on Friday to Sunday for two weeks, exactly on 9 to 11 October and 16 to 18 October. CIMSA FK Unpad managed to send 36 delegates to represent the local. All the delegates were showing great enthusiasm through the meeting. As it was the first national meeting for some of the delegates, they were really excited to get to know more about CIMSA beyond what they had been experiencing in CIMSA FK Unpad. Here are some of the glimpses of our OM 2020 experience.
Despite being held online, all the agendas conducted went pretty well without diminishing the sole purpose of it. The agendas are the Newcomer Session and Welcoming Party to greet and explain the agenda of October Meeting to all the delegates, the session also aims to introduce the National Officials to the delegates. The next agenda is Parallel Session, which is run parallelly on three sessions, the delegates are separate according to their standing committee or field - for local officials. The October Meeting 2020 also had a Grand Lecture, Small Class, and General Issue Update that was brought by expert speakers to give knowledge and understanding for the delegates regarding certain issues related to the theme of the meeting and the happening health topics discussed in the society. In the October Meeting we also had a Plenary Session, Annual Mission Statement, Training Session, Comdev Corner, Regional Session, and Farewell Party. On the awarding event, CIMSA FK Unpad managed to be awarded as Top Three Local, and achieve another award for the local, team, and individual. Being the delegates was certainly an unforgettable experience to open our eyes and get a wider perspective on how all members of CIMSA are together moving towards empowering medical students and improving the nation’s health.
