Primary Event Coordinator:
Anderson Township Park District to raise funds for worthy community endeavors including enhancing park playgrounds through the Park District's General Playground Fund. Park visitors can see the results of the ATPD's fundraising in action at the All Children's Playground at Beech Acres Park. The inclusive playground inspires both active and imaginative play, and has proven to be a hit with children of all ages and abilities since the playground's grand opening
in 2007! Currently, the Beech Acres Park playground features a tot-lot complete with a train and train station, swings, a sand play area, a mini-mountain, a playhouse, and an arched bridge. Older children can test their skills on the Sasquatchtall climbing boulders and a large, fort-like play unit. The walking paths and surfacing tie together the river and village theme which leads to a unique water play area. This playground is truly a place where children with and without disabilities can play together in a healthy recre-
ational environment. The Beech Acres Park playground was made possible by the hard work and the extreme generosity of so many members of our community. In the last five years, Greater Anderson Days raised $51,053 and the Run to Remember raised $24,250 for construction of the playground. The Anderson Township Park District was also fortunate to receive several charitable donations and grants for

The Fireman’s Festival: Hot fun in the summertime
Families in Anderson Township know there’s one summer weekend they don’t want to miss – the July weekend of the Fireman’s Festival. During its long history, many Anderson residents have made great memories while playing games of chance and enjoying those golden ears of corn slathered in butter. There’s something for all ages at the festival. Learn more about fire safety from the Anderson Township Fire and Rescue Fire representatives or get introduced to Lt. Event Partner:
Over six decades, the Anderson Township Fireman’s Association has contributed more than a million dollars worth of equipment to the Anderson Township Fire and Rescue Department. Since its inception in 1940, the association’s goal has been to fund vital medical equipment such as automated external defibrillators and ambulances. A major source of the funding for this equipment comes from the many generous
donors who contribute during the association’s annual fund drive and through the Fireman’s Festival, held in conjunction with Greater Anderson Days.
To raise these funds, the Association operates games of chance and a roasted corn booth at this three-day festival. As always, the Fireman’s Association thanks you for
your generosity and continued support of its projects. Come to Beech Acres Park July 24-26 to show your support of the township’s emergency medical services!

Greater Anderson Days Bands
Big Whiskey (Friday night headliner)
Big Whiskey, Cincinnati’s No. 1 choice for acoustic based rock, is an electrifying acoustic/rock group with soul rock roots, anchored by beautiful harmonies. Outstanding original songs, and unpredictable covers. Big Whiskey has shared the stage with great artists such as Better Than Ezra, The Guess Who, Noah Hunt of Kenny Wayne Sheppard, and South Carolina superstar Tim White (The Bank Walkers/Cravin’ Melon), SC’s Cast Iron Filter, and Nashville Recording Artist Griffin House. Big Whiskey released their debut CD “Key 46” in 2003. Big Whiskey is currently working on its second CD.
The Coy Taylor Band
The Coy Taylor Band has successfully achieved regional fame within the Tristate area performing high energy country music shows. With a recognition for the legendary artists and a savvy, artistic mind for contemporary country music, Coy has created a sound that has currently found its way to the recording studios on Music Row in Nashville. Coy’s contemporary covers and most importantly his original penned music, with songs additionally provided by Brady Seals (Little
Texas/Hot Apple Pie). Coy has had audiences compare his show to a fusion of Rascal Flatts, Emerson Drive and Jason Aldean. Coy Taylor is the new rising star act on the Nashville music scene today.
Marsha Brady (Saturday night headliner)
In 1998 Sean McGary and Jimmy King formed Marsha Brady. Quickly becoming one of Cincinnati’s top cover band’s, they immediately packed local clubs and before long took their energetic live show on the road playing to packed clubs all across the country. After winning a Cammy award in Cincinnati, the band took a break in 2000. Sean joined local funk legend and Gemini recording artist Freekbass. Sean toured the country and recorded two CDs with Freekbass. Jimmy recorded a CD with Zero One Zero and also toured with Forehead. In 2005, using their already established and instantly recognizable name, Marsha Brady reformed, recruiting Funkytown drummer Derek Alldred. Marsha Brady is back packing local clubs and is taking their show back out on the road. While Marsha Brady is a cover band, all the members are involved in various original projects. Marsha Brady plays fun, upbeat, dance rock music. They cover songs by The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Prince, Weezer, Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Guns & Roses, Buckcherry, Lit and a lot of other classic party songs. The band has fun playing these tunes and it comes across in their live show. Be sure and check out Marsha Brady at a club near you.
Noisewater
Noisewater is an Anderson Township favorite, regularly playing in the neighborhood. The band is 3 years old and its young talent is quickly becoming known around the Tristate for funky fresh hits and restyled classics. You may have heard the jam band, pop, and classic rock tunes at Greater Anderson Days the last two years. Noisewater’s top goal is to get people on their feet and feeling good. No one leaves disappointed!
The Remains (Sunday night headliner)
Gary Shook, Kirk Dupont, Lou Aielli and Pete Ellerhorst comprise The Remains, one of Cincinnati’s most entertaining, sought-after and respected bands. The Remains have performed nearly every type of venue and function imaginable, with a play list so extensive and diverse, a good time is guaranteed for all. The Remains is a musical group of four members consisting of keyboards, bass, guitar and drums. The group was originally formed in the spring of 1987 and has remained (no pun intended) together in its original form for the past 22 years. The name, “The Remains,” was originally taken to signify that we, the members of the group, were the last remaining members still performing from the various bands we have been associated with over the years. In essence, as others have left the music scene to pursue other paths, we have remained committed to providing the best possible value in entertainment. The members of the Remains all began playing as kids, with Lou Aielli and Kirk Dupont establishing locally successful bands by the age of 12. Directly out of high school Gary Shook’s band, Rubber Soul, was featured on the prestigious WEBN Album Project. The total combined years of experience logged by each of the four members of the Remains in various bands throughout their careers totals well over 100 years. However, we feel the best is yet to come! The Remains have performed at hundreds of various events, bringing with them the ultimate in professionalism and musical versatility that is required to make any event truly successful.

With their “wall of sound” created by a solid six-piece unit, they have been pleasing crowds at such events as The Cincy Blues Fest, The Delhi Skirt Game, The Summer Concert Series in Harrison, WestFest, The Winter Blues Fest and The Taste of Delhi. “Having a chance to perform at Greater Anderson Days celebration is a great honor", said Chuck Brisbin. “Being able to perform in front of such Noisewater a diverse crowd is always a great amount of fun.” It’s been heard on more than one occasion by many different fans: “… you gotta see this band!"

Poster contest winner inspired by parks
Brian Green, 39, says he “grew up in the parks of Anderson Township.” Now, in the parks, he’s watching his own children grow. “As a youth, I played select soccer and baseball at Beech Acres and Juilfs Park,” he explains. “Now that I am a father, I coach my sons and they play at Riverside and Beech Acres and the fields and playgrounds are well done. So, I appreciate the park planning and progress that has taken place over the years.” This all inspired Green to create the winning poster for the 2009 Greater Anderson Days Poster Contest. “We have lived within walking distance from Beech Acres Park for eight years now and we have enjoyed
attending Anderson Days,” Green says. “It really is a great mid-summer tradition which evolved from all the Fireman’s Festivals back in the day.” Over the past few years, he hasn’t missed the Sunday fireworks and, while attending, he has over heard, on more than one occasion, spectators in the crowd say this is really an impressive display. “This does cultivate a sense of Anderson pride,” says the 30-year resident. “So, when I saw the announcement for the poster contest I was motivated to create a submission that would represent a visual solution which would attract spectators to experience a great event.” Green says he enjoys marketing and the creative plan-
ning process that occurs when promoting a big event. As marketing director for Oktoberfest-Zinzinnati and Taste of Cincinnati, he has developed the image of these events. “The poster and advertising were major components giving the event the necessary energy and public relations ‘buzz’ to be successful,” he says. He chose to create a simple and colorful silhouetted symbols to graphically illustrate the great food, live entertainment, fun for all ages and the marquee fireworks taking place on Sunday night. He also wanted to illustrate the daytime hours, as well as emphasize the night time fireworks display.
He’s proud his piece won, but even more proud of the event and community it represents. “My wife and I are enjoying raising our two boys in an environment we are familiar with. This is a solid community.”

Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce silent auction and dunking booths
One of the highlight tents at Greater Anderson Days is the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce silent auction booth offering area businesses a great way to advertise and the community a great way to buy. The Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce’s Silent Auction booth will again have some exciting items. The mix is so diversified there is something for everyone to put in a bid on. In addition to a large variety of gift certificates to many local restaurants, shops and businesses there will also be a large assortment of gift packs and baskets with fabulous “treats,” and tickets to local entertainment and sporting events to bid on.
These include Cincinnati Reds, Playhouse in the Park, Cincinnati Zoo and Newport on the Levee. Exciting sports memorabilia from baseballs and footballs to signed artwork will be at the auction. There is still time to donate to the auction. The deadline is Tuesday, July 21. By contributing to the silent auction your business or organization has the opportunity to be exposed to thousands of Greater Cincinnati families over the course of the festival. This is a great way to promote your business as well as provide you with a possible business tax deduction. Make it a point to stop by and checkout the fabulous auction
items. Back by popular demand is the Chamber’s Dunking Booth at Greater Anderson Days. The chamber thought this booth would be a great way to stay cool in the heat of late July and also have some fun competition between schools, teams neighborhoods and other organizations. There are still spots open for “dunkees” as well as a sponsorship for the Dunking Booth. For more information or to make a donation, contact Chairperson Ron Evans, Realtor for www.webmls.com, at 505-4279 or ronevans.re@ gmail.com, or contact Brandy Uhlenbrock, Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce at 4744802.

While the Five Mile Trail has become one of the most heavily used links in Anderson’s ambitious trails program, the township has received sizeable federal grants that will further increase the township’s hikebike paths, most notably down Asbury Road linking subdivisions to one another and Beechmont Avenue. The township continues to create other significant links between residential areas and amenities to serve the most residents possible. Anderson Township has benefited from its recent public projects that will help sustain housing values while enhancing the sense of community. Gold Sponsor: Cincinnati Federal Savings and Loan Association
Nagel Office: 1270 Nagel Road (next to post office) 4740400 www.cincinnatifederal.com Cincinnati Federal Savings and Loan Association (originally chartered as Library Savings and Loan) was founded in 1922. We have been meeting the savings and borrowing needs of our community ever since. Cincinnati Federal operates as a federally chartered “mutual” savings and loan. This means that Cincinnati Federal is owned by its depositors, not by investors or stockholders.
This unique ownership type allows us to concentrate on providing friendly and personal service without having to worry about the “next quarterly earnings report.” Over the years, Cincinnati Federal has also acquired other “mutual” savings and loans (Delta Savings and Loan, McHenry Savings and Loan, Fulton No. 4 and Clifton Heights Savings & Loan). While we have grown over the years, along the way we have always remained committed to our customers and the communities we serve. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff is ready to work with you on your savings or borrowing needs.
