Rabbit Hash leader: Something about the town ‘defies explanation’ Melissa Reinert
Cincinnati Enquirer USA TODAY NETWORK
RABBIT HASH – The first time Bobbi Layne Kayser came to Rabbit Hash was the day she moved there. “I got a drink, went and sat on the porch and felt like I had met my destiny,” she said. “There is something about the geological spot the town sits on that defies explanation.” According to Kayser, once you’re at “the center of the universe,” your blood pressure goes down, you’re more inclined to chat with the stranger sitting next to you and there’s always a dog nearby to soothe your soul. Located along the Ohio River in western Boone County, Rabbit Hash is home to the landmark Rabbit Hash General Store. “It’s a feeling of simpler times and ways, when the word ‘community’
meant helping your neighbors and coming together for support and play,” she said. “This feeling is palpable in Rabbit Hash. People come to town to see what all the hoopla is about. They come back, and sometimes stay for good because what that feels like, is coming home.” And at home in Rabbit Hash, Kayser has become an essential part of the hoopla. Tom Lubbe, owner of Verona Vineyards, a small boutique winery in Verona with a satellite store in Rabbit Hash, has known Kayser for about 10 years. Lubbe said that Kayser is “so well liked by everyone in town.” “She brings us together and gets us (the shop owners) all working toward one goal to preserve the history and get people to come to enjoy our town,” he said. “Game changer,” he said is a title Layne Kayser bestows well, according to

Lubbe. “She’s very passionate,” he said. “She’s genuine and she cares about life here in Rabbit Hash and she makes it a
much better place.” She leads the Rabbit Hash Historical Society Board of Directors. She helps promote events, accommodates media and volunteers to help with whatever is needed. In addition, she organizes maintenance, keeping the utilities on and the buildings. Her greatest and most proud contribution, Kayser said, was serving as secretary and being “momma” to her dog Lucy Lou. The red and white border collie served as mayor of Rabbit Hash from 2008 to 2016. She died this September at age 12. Lucy Lou was the first female mayor of Rabbit Hash. Lucy Lou ran on the popular campaign slogan: “The Bitch You Can Count On,” raising $8,087 of the total $21,921 raised that election. The idea for the animal mayor race was initiated to raise funds for historical See RABBIT, Page 2A
Boone County’s new bond rating boosts golf course improvements more non-golf revenue during winter months.” Boone County’s bond credit rating was upgraded on Dec. 5 from Aa1 to Aaa, positioning the county as the only local government – city or county – in Kentucky to have earned the highest possible credit rating. RSA financial adviser Dwight Salsbury, who advised Boone County on the bond issue, said the upgrade will save county taxpayers approximately $115,000 on the $4.4 million bond issue. “When a local government manages its finances as well as Boone County, the cost of borrowing money decreases,” Salsbury said. Only a small percentage of governments nationwide have achieved a Triple-A bond rating, Earlywine said. “This is outstanding news for our residents,” said Boone County Judge-executive Gary Moore. “The upgrade will result in direct savings to the taxpayer with our upcoming bond sale. This longsought-after rating upgrade is a validation of our fiscal management and disciplined spending practices.” Paul Huber, of Covington Catholic, sinks a short putt at Boone Links Golf Course, Florence, during the Region 7 boys golf tournament in 2013. Want to switch parties Boone County student for Ky. primary? Make charged after threat that change by Dec. 31 Sarah Brookbank
Nancy Daly
Cincinnati Enquirer USA TODAY NETWORK
Kentucky voters who wish to vote in another party’s primary in the 2019 elections must change their registration no later than Dec. 31, 2018, Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes is reminding Kentuckians. “Next year, Kentuckians will go to the polls to elect statewide officers, including governor and lieutenant governor,” said Grimes, Kentucky’s chief election official. “This is an important deadline if you are considering a party affiliation change and want to participate in next year’s May primary.” May 21, 2019, is Kentucky’s primary day. With Gov. Matt Bevin running for reelection, other Republican candidates have not emerged thus far. Two Democratic candidates are running for governor next year, Attorney General Andy Beshear and Kentucky House Minority Leader Rocky Adkins. Both led Bevin in Mason-Dixon’s polling this week. Beshear led by 8 percentage points, 48 percent to 40 percent while Adkins led by only 1 percentage point, 42 percent to 41 percent. Voters can change or update their reg-

istration at Kentucky’s one-stop online voter portal, GoVoteKY.com. Under Kentucky law, to be qualified to vote in a partisan Primary Election, a voter must have been a member of that party on Dec. 31 of the prior year or a new voter who has not changed their affiliation. Voters who change party affiliation after the Dec. 31 deadline are not eligible to vote in partisan races in the Primary Election. The Dec. 31 deadline also affects prospective candidates in the 2019 elections. To be qualified as a party or independent candidate in a regular election, a candidate’s registration status generally must be established by Dec. 31 of the prior year, per Kentucky law. Voters can verify their current registration status at GoVoteKY.com. To change party affiliation, voters may make the change on the online portal, or complete a voter registration card and return it to their county clerk. Registration forms are available at county clerks’ offices. Registration forms submitted by mail, in person, or electronically must be received by the county clerk by Dec. 31. Individuals who prefer to make the change in person should check with their county clerks’ offices regarding hours of operation during the holiday season.

A Boone County High School student has been charged after deputies said he posted a threatening message on Snapchat with him displaying a weapon. Boone County Sheriff 's Office deputies said the image included the student asking if anyone had bullets and then another one indicating he had bullets and … “pray it work out.” The 15-year-old sophomore was charged Tuesday, Dec.18 around 8 p.m. Deputies said the student, from Florence, admitted to the posts after concerned parents notified the office about the posts. Deputies seized the weapon and charged the teenager with disorderly conduct. The student was then released to his father, officials said. “It is important to note our effectiveness in these cases often relies on parents and/or students coming forward with information. preservation. Since her political career took off Lucy Lou became quite the celebrity, locally and nationally. She and Kayser attended charity events and Lucy Lou served as spokespet for a women’s crisis center. Her term as mayor ended earlier than planned in 2016, Kayser said, when Lucy Lou voluntarily left office in order to help her hometown raise funds to rebuild the Rabbit Hash General Store. The 1831 historic building was destroyed by fire in February 2016. With the help of Lucy Lou and others, the Rabbit Hash Historical Society was able to rebuild and reopen the landmark within a year. During her tenure, Lucy Lou also gave many radio and magazine interviews. She appeared on news segments to promote local events as well as a Japanese

pet show and shared a “Talking Points” walk with Bill Geist of CBS Sunday Morning. Kayser said she and Lucy Lou served their community “because things need to be done.” “A lot of things in town get done by a lot of other locals for the same reason, Kayser said. “It’s just how we work together here.” Kayser, however, doesn’t really consider herself a game changer, but more of a preservationist. “Change is actually frowned upon in historical Rabbit Hash,” she said. “I’m lucky to be among like-minded people ready to pitch in and help at a moment’s notice. So being involved means friendships, social outlet and a good feeling of having contributed to the history of Boone County.” Her vision for Rabbit Hash: “For it to become self-sustaining enough to last as it is now for future generations to enjoy as much as the present one does.”

Bruegger’s Bagels customers have been advised to check their payment card information after the discovery of a data breach, according to a security notice from the company. If you visited any company-owned Bruegger’s locations between Aug. 28 and Dec. 3, there is a possibility that your name and credit card information — including card number, expiration date and card security code — may have been accessed. Decadent chocolate-covered cherries will impress Rita’s Kitchen Rita Heikenfeld
It was a request from a reader I couldn’t refuse. “Help! I always make chocolate covered cherries for New Year’s and I lost your recipe. Do you still have it?” And the answer is…yes. The first time I tasted these was when friend, Perrin Rountree, an Anderson Township reader, brought them to work during the holidays. Easy to make, there’s just a bit of technique involved, which I’ve explained in detail. Maybe you need just one more confection for that holiday dessert tray.
Or is it a hostess gift you’re looking for? Get ready to impress the lucky recipient. And as we end the old year and segue into the new one, my prayer is that you finish the holidays with health and happiness, and start the New Year the same way.
Readers want to know Why is my layered peppermint bark separating? A couple of reasons for this, the main one being that you need to use highquality bar chocolate, not morsels, for both white and dark layers. White chocolate should contain cocoa butter, not palm kernel oil. Palm
kernel oil inhibits bonding of the dark chocolate and white layers. Don’t use “chocolate flavored” chocolate. Score the bark after the second layer has become almost firm in the refrigerator. This makes it easy to cut after it's completely set. Before cutting or breaking into pieces, let the layered bark set out just a few minutes. If it’s too cold, it may be too brittle to cut. Check out Nancy Baggett’s excellent post on perfect peppermint bark and see my site for photos. (http://kitchenlane.com/2011/12/how-to-make-chocolate-peppermint-bark.html). Any tips on getting everything on the table at the right temperature? Hah, an age old dilemma! I learned
from Teri Gelter, daughter-in-law Courtney’s mom, to cook items that keep the heat in first, like pasta, potatoes, etc. Wrap them in a couple layers of foil (spray the inside of the foil if the food is in a pan so it doesn’t stick to the food), then wrap the whole thing in a couple bath towels. It should stay warm for an hour or so, freeing stove top and oven space. Baked potatoes can be wrapped in foil and then placed in a cooler lined with a bath towel. Candy shop quality chocolate-covered cherries Ingredients 1 jar l0 oz., maraschino cherries with stems Instructions Drain cherries very well on paper towels for several hours. They must be dry for fondant to adhere. Ingredients fondant Not a true fondant, but an easy one. You’ll have fondant left over. Ingredients 3 tablespoons butter, softened 3 tablespoons light corn syrup
smooth. If too soft to handle, chill for 15 minutes. (Mixture can also be made a week ahead, refrigerated and brought to room temperature). Viewpoints Holiday health Managing high blood pressure at this time of year is tricky when food choices are tempting Extending Knowledge Kathy R. Bynes The Community Recorder
It can be overwhelming when thinking about holiday foods and managing blood sugar. Some people may even feel isolated when they sacrifice sweets and holiday drinks, when everyone else seems to be indulging. Luckily, planning and following these tips may help keep your blood sugar steady and within the normal range, allowing you to participate in the holiday fun. ❚ Know what foods can cause your blood sugar to quickly rise. These include but aren’t limited to grains such as bread, pasta and crackers, high-starch vegetables like potatoes and corn, juice, soda, cakes, cookies and other sweets. ❚ Bring your own dish to a party or potluck. This ensures there will be a low-sugar food available for you to eat. Cauliflower Mushroom Poppers would be a perfect holiday finger food for a party or potluck. ❚ Scout out the buffet line. Start with salad and non-starchy vegetables to take away that initial hunger that can lead to over-eating high sugar foods. ❚ Don’t forget about the effects of adult beverages on blood sugar. Stick to the recommendations of one alcoholic drink/day for women and two drinks/day for men. It is best to sip your beverage with a snack or enjoy with a meal to minimize very low blood sugar, especially if you are on insulin. ❚ Don’t skip meals. Don’t “save up” throughout the day to overindulge at the holiday meal. It is best to keep blood sugar levels steady throughout the day. It may also help to eat your holiday meal as close to your regular meal time as possible. ❚ Go for a walk after the meal. Not only can this be fun for family and friends but can help keep blood sugar levels in the normal range. ❚ Celebrations can be more than food. Make new traditions for the holidays. For example, go ice-skating, host a craft party or volunteer with friends and family. By following all these tips and tricks, you can still enjoy the holidays and all the delicious food. It is important to be aware of your blood sugar and know what works for you as well as staying active, even with all the big events coming up. Kathy R. Watch for electronic scams this holiday season Sandra Guile Guest Columnist Community Outreach Specialist for BBB
The 2018 holiday season is here and with it comes an abundance of activities, like trimming trees, decking the halls, and plenty of to-do lists. This provides scammers plenty of perfect opportunities to use people’s distraction for their own gain. Some scam artists got an early start, swapping out UPC codes on the backside of gift cards with fake ones before the Thanksgiving holiday. This meant that when a customer bought one of the cards with a false UPC, the money that should’ve activated the card was redirected to the scammer’s account. When buying gift cards either for personal use or as a gift for someone else, double check the package containing the card. Look for signs that it has been tampered with or if anything’s been placed over the original barcode. If you do find a defective card, report it to the retailer immediately. Another common scam that occurs during the holidays is the package delivery scam. Because the volume of online orders goes up during the holiday season, the U.S. Postal Service expects to deliver more than 15 billion pieces of mail and 900 million packages between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day. This is the prime time for a scammer to say they’re with a popular shipping company, like
Amazon or UPS, and ask for personal information. Not only can this scam be perpetuated over the phone or online, but some scammers will also leave a note that includes a phone number or website on the door of their intended victim, indicating that they need to use those contact methods for the package to be delivered. Once they call or email, the scam is the same, the person on the other end asks for sensitive data in exchange for the parcel. Before calling the number on the note, look up the contact information to make sure it’s not part of a scam. If you do call and they begin asking questions rather than offering to schedule a delivery, hang up. Any mention of payment or personal information should be a red flag. Remember, most shipping services allow you to check the status of your delivery by signing up for text or email alerts. Many will attempt to deliver a package at least three times before contacting you directly. This holiday season, do your part to promote goodwill to all. If you suspect a call, a note, or email might be part of a scam, report it to BBB’s Scam Tracker to keep the season merry and bright. Sandra Guile is the Community Outreach Specialist for BBB. Sports Ryle graduate Tanner Morgan turns heads at Minnesota Jon Richardson
Cincinnati Enquirer USA TODAY NETWORK
As Minnesota headed to halftime in their Oct. 20 tilt with Nebraska, the scoreboard cast a menacing reminder that the Golden Gophers’ bowl-bid hopes were on the brink. Entering the game, the team had dropped their last three Big Ten contests and were outscored 120-58 during the stretch. The first-half performance against the winless Cornhuskers was a continuation of that trend, and the Gophers were pinned by a 28-8 deficit. Incumbent starting quarterback Zack Annexstad left the game due to injury. But Annexstad’s misfortune was his backup’s gain, and Ryle graduate Tanner Morgan seized the moment. The freshman quarterback sparked a 14point run, narrowing the margin to six midway through the third quarter. Though the Gophers ultimately lost the game, Morgan’s play cemented his grasp of the QB1 reigns. Morgan was slated to start the next game against the Indiana Hoosiers. A psyche devoid of nerves or pressure helps explain the success of his early collegiate career. “My coaches did a great job getting me prepared,” Morgan said of his first start. “I wasn’t really nervous. I was just anxious to play, just to go out there and play ball.” Playing ball is exactly what he did. Morgan completed 17-of-24 passes against the Hoosiers, eclipsing the 300yard mark and notching three touchdown passes to just one interception. And in a 31-31 tie game with less than two minutes remaining, the freshman connected with another first-year player in receiver Rashod Bateman for a 67yard, lead-commanding touchdown.

“I think you all know Tanner, who follow us, know how gutsy he is,” head coach PJ Fleck said after the win. “What his heart’s like, what his passion is like, what his spirit is like… Tanner proved why he’s here. He is a very humble young ma. He gives credit to everybody else. He’s an incredible leader.” Since taking over as the head signal caller, Morgan has led the Gophers to a 3-2 record and passed for 1,020 yards and seven touchdowns. He also helped orchestrate a 37-15 win over rival Wisconsin Nov. 24, as Minnesota reclaimed The Paul Bunyan Axe for the first time since 2003. After a bowl-less, 5-7 2017 season and a 3-4 record in late October, the Gophers are now set to face Georgia Tech in the Quick Lane Bowl. “This is an experience I have been
very blessed to have been a part of,” Morgan said. “Obviously there have been a lot of ups and downs throughout the year, but I’m just very blessed to play here and be able to have the opportunities that I’ve had this season…That my teammates had trust in me and my coaches had trust in me, (I’m thankful) that when I was able to come in that I was able to perform.” Prior to turning heads on the Big Ten gridiron, Morgan was stuffing stat sheets at Ryle High School. During his senior campaign, the 6-foot-2 quarterback threw for 2,747 yards and 27 touchdowns, leading the Raiders to a 12-1 record and a 6A state quarterfinal. The performance garnered Kentucky Mr. Football attention, and Morgan was a finalist for the award. He amassed more than 10,000 passing yards in his prep career.
Morgan initially caught the eye of Fleck when he was still coaching at Western Michigan, and their relationship yielded an April 7, 2016 commitment. When Fleck was hired at Minnesota on Jan. 7, 2017, Morgan decommited from Western Michigan and committed to the Gophers – on Jan. 7, 2017. “The only reason I’m here in Minnesota is because of him,” Morgan said. “He cares so much about us outside of football; it is just incredible. The things that he does for us, the amount of energy, the passion he pours into this program and to his players is just phenomenal.” The positivity and momentum Morgan and Fleck have provided Minnesota now move to the back burner, though, as all eyes turn toward preparation for Georgia Tech. The month-plus layover requires ultimate focus, and Morgan has been busy locking in. “We’ve had a couple of weeks from the last game until now to prepare for them,” Morgan said. “Practicing but making sure we’re get better and growing every day… Our coaches do a great job of (keeping focus) with the intensity at practice. Some days there may be less reps, some days there may be more reps to make sure we stay on top of our game.” The Gophers faced the Yellow Jackets Dec. 26 in the Quick Lane Bowl. For any uncertainty that existed surrounding the game, one thing remained clear – Morgan was ready. “You can do two things,” Fleck said about Morgan’s mentality of not starting at the beginning of the season. “You can pout, put your head down, walk away. Or you can sit there and say ‘I’m ready. Whenever you need me, I’m ready.’ And that’s exactly what he did... He’s been locked in. He’s a credible leader.”

NKU grinds out a 65-62 victory over N. Illinois Jon Richardson
Cincinnati Enquirer USA TODAY NETWORK
The 3-point shot cuts two ways. To hit them is bliss, but when they aren’t falling, offenses can deflate, seeping momentum and confidence. When Northern Kentucky met Northern Illinois at BB&T Arena on Thursday, this dichotomy was on full display. After a putrid 3-for-17 from three in the first half – leading to a 31-25 deficit – the Norse all but abandoned the perimeter, instead attacking the basket and getting to the free-throw line. The Norse were rewarded, as the adjustment yielded a 65-62 NKU victory. “A Horizon League-type game when you have to win when your offense isn’t flowing,” head coach John Brannen said. “Really proud of our guys' commitment level despite the fact that Drew (McDonald) didn’t have it going, (Dantez) Walton didn’t have it going, Z (Zaynah Robinson) didn’t have it going, Tyler (Sharp) didn’t have it going. That’s four guys that average double figures for us that didn’t have it going offensively and we were still able to find a way to win.” The Northern Kentucky (10-3) defense was plagued by transition baskets in the first half, with many of the opportunities coming from long rebounds on missed threes. Northern Illinois (6-5) scored 13 of their 31 points in the opening frame by way of fast break, and NKU seemed to have little answers. McDonald was held to just one point as well, as the Huskies clamped down on the senior forward and contently watched the Norse fire from deep. In the second half, though, NKU shifted their focus to the interior. When they were not feeding McDonald a steady diet of post entry passes, they were aggressively attacking the rim and getting to the free throw line. “I was just trying to take what the defense gave me,” McDonald said. “I trust in my teammates around me that they’re going to make the right plays and just getting them

shots. I wasn’t going to try and force something. I just came out aggressive in the second half, and they kind of backed off and opened up the lane more and let me get some more shots up.” After attempting just eight free throws in the first half, the Norse took 28 in the second, hitting 19 to stay ahead despite shooting just 30.6 percent from the floor for the game. The Huskies were limited to four second half fast break points as a result. “Huge, because we weren’t making shots,” Brannen said of the importance of NKU’s second half free throw attempts. “We haven’t been getting to the line at all… for us to be plus-26 at the foul line, we needed that.” The Norse executed a late, 9-2 run to pull ahead 62-56 with under two-minutes remaining. The Huskies would not relent, though, narrowing the lead to 62-61. But a clutch baseline slash and layup from sophomore guard Jalen Tate put Northern Illinois away for good. Leading the way for Northern Kentucky was Drew McDonald, who scored 15 points and hauled in 11 rebounds for the doubledouble, his second straight and 40th of his career. Tate added 14 points and six rebounds, and junior guard Sharp also chipped in 14 points. Next up for the Norse is a home bout with IUPUI on Dec. 28.

Cast chemistry, original music, spot-on comedy all highlights of Ryle High School’s ‘Twelfth Night’ Review by Clare Brennan, Walnut Hills High School Cappies Critic Team The twists and turns and of a comedy are often puzzling, yet equally funny; this is certainly the case for Ryle High School’s production of “Twelfth Night” by William Shakespeare. “Twelfth Night” follows Viola, a shipwrecked and lonesome girl, as she assumes the persona of a man named Cesario and attempts to get closer to Duke Orsino, the man with whom she is enchanted. Sadly, Orsino’s affections lie with Olivia, a lady mourning the loss of her brother. In true Shakespearean fashion, plots are intertwined and mixed about so that Olivia is in love with Viola, who she believes to be a Cesario. Revolving around this central plot is a comedic subplot that focuses on the various others living in Olivia’s house and their plot to dethrone the ever-strict Malvolio, administrator of the house. As the show is a traditional comedy, it, of course, ends happily with the major characters in love with the befitting partners, despite the hilarity along the way. Averie Morris took on the great task of playing Viola. Morris, bravely cutting her hair for the role, deftly portrayed Viola as a genuinely kind individual caught up in such a wild situation. The character Viola presents the unique challenge of having to play a woman constantly pretending to be a man; although at times, Morris would break this pretense for a comic aside to the audience, she successfully navigated this difficult aspect of her role. Opposite her was Elliet Malatesta as Olivia; Malatesta was brilliant in her performance of the dramatic lady. Impressively, Malatesta often seemed as if she would burst into a hysterical fit at any moment, complete with low and emotional fits of screaming and higher, almost funny, cackles. Another interesting aspect of Malatesta’s performance was her physicality which was always ladylike yet

barely put together. Morris and Malatesta together had quite explosive chemistry, explosive-describing the laughter of the audience as Malatesta would endlessly try to court the apprehensive Morris. While the principal performers in the show were not a disappointment in any way, the real soul of the show lay with Wade Yates, whose performance as Feste the Fool was near perfection. Yates combined a goofy persona with unbridled honesty to create a hilarious and lovable joker. Despite often being a rather nasty character, Yates was hard not to root for in his never-ending quest to stir
the pot and make others laugh. Another critical aspect of Feste, in particular, is his willingness to sing, not to be confused with his ability to sing. Yates carried off many songs throughout the show solely alone and nevertheless was always charming. In a production with already remarkable acting, Yates stood out in his infinitely delightful performance. The production also featured original music written by Andrew Strawn. Writing any composition is already a commendable task, but writing one to fit a specific, already-written show is another. Strawn’s music was jaunty and en-
joyable, and darker in moments where it was necessary. Additionally, creditable was Strawn’s collaboration with the sole vocalist, Yates, in giving him material that not only fit Feste exceptionally well but also Yates as a singer. Overall, Ryle High School’s production of “Twelfth Night” hit all essential comedic and dramatic beats with much success. From the adept actors to the fitting score, this production was captivating and lively, creating a world where it felt as if anything could happen next. . Cappies of Greater Cincinnati

New Patented Pill For Bladder Control Makes Store Debut PAID ADVERTISEMENT
Studies show a new pill may be effective enough to replace adult diapers at stores leading one major retailer to now carry it; users report reductions in urgency, frequency, leaking, and nighttime urination. Raymond Wilson Associated Health Press
BOSTON - If you’re one of the lucky few to live close enough to the 12 pilot stores in the northeast, the news couldn’t be better. And for everyone else, the company says they will still offer their patented bladder control while supplies last. The new pill, called UriVarx™, contains a patented ingredient that keeps the bladder from releasing involuntarily, which reduces accidents and frequent bathroom trips. Perhaps more impressive, it also targets the tiny muscles around the bladder, which helps the bladder to create a tighter seal. This would explain why the average UriVarx™ user in clinical trials experienced a 66% reduction in urinary incontinence symptoms, such as day and night leaking and sudden urges to urinate.
An Amazing Discovery in Bladder Control Until now, doctors believed it was impossible to strengthen the muscles that control the bladder. They are amazed to see that it can now be done with the non-prescription UriVarx™ pill. “As you get older, and the involuntary muscles around your bladder weaken, you lose urinary control. With your bladder wall unable to properly seal, you constantly leak and feel pressure to urinate” explains Dr. Henry Esber, creator of the new pill. “UriVarx™ targets the bladder muscles and help restores vital kidney health, reducing urgency and frequency. It also helps you “hold it” for hours so you never have to worry about embarrassing accidents ever again!”
Freedom From Sudden Urges and Leaks Since hitting the market, sales for the patented UriVarx™ pill have soared and there are some very good reasons why. To begin with, the double blind clinical studies have been impressive. So much in fact, they are published on the clinicaltrials.gov database. Participants taking UriVarx™ saw a stunning reduction in urinary frequency, which resulted in fewer bathroom trips both day and night. They also experienced a dramatic decrease in incontinence episodes, such as leaking and bed wetting. The active ingredients in UriVarx™ comes from a patented formula. It is both safe and healthy. There are also no known serious side effects in its history of use.
Day and Night Protection Scientists believe that the ingredients target the muscles of the bladder to grow stronger. These muscles are responsible for keeping the bladder tightly sealed. They also help the bladder to completely empty, allowing bacteria to be flushed from the urinary tract. Research has shown that as you get older, certain hormonal changes in the body cause these muscles to shrink and become lose. This is what causes the bladder to be over active and the resulting urine accidents and why UriVarx™ seems to be so effective in the published clinical trials.
Exciting Results From Urivarx™ Users Many UriVarx™ users say their bladders have never been stronger. For the first time in
NEW PILL TO REPLACE DIAPERS MAKES US DEBUT: Urivarx™ can now be purchased in 12 stores in the northeast.
years, they are confident and in complete control. Adult pads and diapers are no longer a big worry. “After my third child, I couldn’t control my bladder. I was running to the bathroom all the time! And once I hit my 60s it became so unpredictable I needed to wear adult pads every day” explained one sufferer. “I was embarrassed so before going to my doctor I decided to try UriVarx and I’m so glad I did! The urgency is gone and I no longer feel like my bladder is about to explode. I can also “hold it” when I need to so I’m no longer living in constant fear of finding a bathroom.”
Impressive Clinical Results The exciting clinical results published on the government clinical website clinicaltrials. gov show that UriVarx™ can strengthen your bladder fast, significantly reducing the urine urgency and leaks. In a new double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study, 142 men and women with bladder control issues were separated into two groups. The first group was given a placebo while the other received UriVarx™. The results were incredible. The participants who received UriVarx™ saw major improvements in leaking, pressure, and the urgency to go − all without the usual side effects seen in prescription drugs! They also reported fewer trips to the bathroom both day and night.
• • • • •
Overall, the UriVarx™ group experienced: 56% Reduction in Urge Incontinence 66% Reduction in Stress Incontinence 61% Reduction in Urgency 33% Reduction in Frequency 46% Reduction in Nighttime Bathroom Trips
Additionally, at the end of clinical trial and after seeing the results, 84% of the participants taking UriVarx™ said it significantly improved their quality of life.
Targets and Strengthens Bladder Muscle UriVarx™ is a pill that’s to be taken twice daily. It does not require a prescription. The active ingredients are patented natural extracts. Research shows that as we get older, the muscles which surround the bladder weaken. This is caused by hormonal changes in the body that causes the muscles to atrophy and weaken. When they become too small and weak, they cannot seal your bladder shut, which causes leaking, accidents, among other incontinence symptoms. It also prevents your bladder from fully emptying, which can result in persistent bacterial infections and UTIs. UriVarx’s™ active ingredient targets the muscles around the bladder, making them stronger. Supporting ingredients in UriVarx™ support kidney function and overall urinary health.
Bladder Problems Gone With daily use, UriVarx™ can restore strong bladder control and help users overcome leakage without the negative side effects or interactions associated with drugs. Leakage sufferers can now put an end to the uncontrollable urges, the embarrassing accidents, and enjoy an entirely new level of comfort and confidence.
Where to Find Urivarx™ This is the official debut of UriVarx™ in select retail stores in the northeast. For those outside this area, the company is offering huge discounts to any reader suffering from bladder issues while supplies last. These discounts are not yet available in stores. A special hotline number and discounted pricing has been created for readers of this publication only. Discounts will be available starting today at 6:00AM and will automatically be applied when you call with your savings code.
“The clinical findings are incredible, but people still wonder if it will really work” explains Dr. Esber.
So call Toll Free 1-888-573-7607 and provide the operator with the code N03026 to receive instant savings.
“It’s normal to be skeptical, but we’ve seen thousands of UriVarx™ users get results exactly like the participants in the study. It’s an amazing product.”
A very limited supply of UriVarx™ is currently available in your region and with phone lines often busy the company advises to call right away.

Music: A family tradition Congratulations to Summit View Academy eighth grade saxophonist Alex Taylor. She was selected as a Melody Contest winner, presented by the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Alex’s melody ‘Falling Gravity’, along with one other winner, will be incorporated into a brandnew piece by composer Meng Wang, to be premiered at the One Giant Leap concerts on Feb. 26 and March 28. In addition, the composer will also visit SVA to share about her work on the composition and explore the process of composing based on Alex’s melody. Alex will also be embracing the lead role as the Queen of Hearts, in her schools production of “Alice In Wonderland”. Alex follows a line of musically talented family members influenced by her dad Joe Taylor who is also a saxophonist, also studied music and was a member of the Ludlow High School Marching Band along with Joe’s younger brother Joshua. We are also looking for volunteers, both adults and teens (age 16 and older), to attend camp with us. We need at least three counselors per cabin, with at least one of those being an adult. Adults willing to go and able to pass our volunteer application process may take up to two of their own children to camp at no cost. For teens, we will sign off on 75 volunteer hours. Feel free to give us a call with any questions on volunteering or camp in general at 859-586-6101. Camp registration packets will be available at the Boone County Extension Office, 6028 Camp Ernst Road, Burlington, or online at boone.ca.uky.edu. Danielle Ray, Boone County Cooperative Extension Service
Heritage Bank names Kentucky banker Charolette H. Vermillion to board of directors Heritage Bank recently named Charolette H. Vermillion, a well-respected veteran of Kentucky banking, to its Board of Directors. Vermillion spent fourteen years with Heritage Bank serving in multiple capacities related to loan operations, documentation, compliance, and special assets. Most recently, she was Senior Vice President, Audit, with management responsibility for Loan and Deposit Operations before retiring earlier this year. Prior to joining Heritage, Vermillion’s career spanned several decades with prior institutions. “Charolette brings an intimate and Charolette H. Vermillion comprehensive knowledge of Heritage Bank, and the banking industry at large, to our Board of Directors,” said Chris Caddell, the bank’s Chairman. “This will complement and enhance the knowledge base of our current directorate. Her acumen will also prove helpful casting future vision and strategy for our vibrantly growing institution.” Vermillion, a Kentucky native, has a pilot’s license and enjoys traveling and hiking. She resides in Hebron. “I look forward to serving with Charolette for many years to come,” said Mr. Caddell. “And wish her the very best as she begins this new banking journey. A journey that I consider to be the crown jewel of an amazing banking career.” Justin Smith
