AT580 Building
The AT580 Building was built between 1973 and 1974 and designed by Architects Harry Hake & Partners for the Southern Ohio Bank. At just under 229 feet tall and 17 stories, Southern Ohio Bank occupied the current building until 1985, when National City bought them out. The Great American Insurance Company then occupied the building until 2011. Before 580 Building, the Gerke Building sat on the site. Constructed in 1861 by German laborers as a brewery, it sat above the largest and deepest lager cellar in the city, which held a constant temperature of 58.6 degrees regardless of the outside temperature. After the close of the brewery in 1912, the building housed Gerber Baby Food.
