GENERAL INFORMATION Certificate

A Certificate of Completion is awarded if 70% attendance is attained and course requirements are met for short-term classes. EKG, Phlebotomy, Health Unit Coordinator, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Patient Access & Registration Specialist, Pharmacy Technician, and other career certification programs have 90% attendance requirements (details on the first day of class). Fire, EMT, STNA, and CPR courses require 100% attendance.

Senior Citizens

Individuals 60 or older may be eligible to receive a discount

for certain classes costing $100 or more in tuition, applied after the book and/or material costs are subtracted from the course fee. You must register in person with photo ID the first time.

Refund Policy for ShortTerm and Other Classes Short-Term Classes: Refunds, less a $15 processing fee, will be made if the student withdraws before the second class. If the class is cancelled due to low enrollment, no processing fee will be charged. Motorcycle Classes: There are no refunds of the $50 registration fee. Students may re-schedule a class by calling (513) 612-5847 to request a change to a later class.

Computer 1 & 2 Day Seminar Classes: A $50 cancellation fee will be charged unless a cancellation is received no later than 48 hours before the start of class. IT Certification Programs: A $150 cancellation fee will be charged unless a cancellation is received no later than 48 hours before the start of class. WorkKeys: There are no refunds available for WorkKeys registration. If you need to change your test date and you contact us at (513) 771-8881, option 1, at least 24 hours before your scheduled test, we are able to offer a one-time transfer to a future test date. If we don’t hear from you at least 24 hours before your scheduled test date, we are unable to offer a transfer.

Online Classes at Great Oaks Through a partnership with ed2go, Great Oaks offers hundreds of courses on just about every topic. Gain valuable and interesting knowledge at your convenience. You’ll have the flexibility to study at your own pace combined with enough structure and support to complete the course. The courses can be accessed 24/7 from anywhere with an internet connection. New sessions of each six-week online course start monthly, with two lessons released weekly (for a total of 12). Each high-quality course includes comprehensive lessons, quizzes, assignments, and a discussion area. Dedicated instructors facilitate every course. Health Unit Coordinator This 50-hour program is designed to prepare a student to perform the tasks and responsibilities of a Health Unit Coordinator in support of medical staff, nursing personnel, hospital departments, and to assist patients and visitors. This program includes interactive lectures, labs, and exercises designed to review medical terminology, methods of effective communication, and progressive management techniques. Our courses are accredited by such agencies as the Pro Board, Ohio Department of Public Safety, and Ohio Police Training Association. ServSafe Hybrid Manager Training Learn the skills necessary in seven weeks to pass the ServSafe Manager certification. Students will meet in a hybrid class setting, connecting both virtually online and in-person classroom sessions along with self-paced learning. Students who pass their test receive their industry manager certification, and students also obtain their level two Person in Charge certification through the state of Ohio. ASPIRE ENGLISH (ESOL) CLASSES Aspire English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Classes

Aspire English (ESOL) classes are free to adult students who need to improve English skills in order to prepare for college or an adult certificate-training program or to get a better job. Classes include practice in speaking, reading, listening, and writing. Consistent classroom attendance is required. Students must be at least 19 years old to attend. ASPIRE HSE CLASSES Aspire High School Equivalency (HSE) Classes

Aspire HSE classes are FREE to adult students who need to prepare for a High School Equivalency test (GED® or HiSET®), get ready to go to college or an adult certificate-training program, gain employment, or enhance workplace skills. Classes are offered at many convenient locations. Before starting HSE classes, all students must attend an information session at our Scarlet Oaks campus located at
