Great Oaks Career Campuses Great Oaks is a public school district; we provide career and technical programs to 36 school districts in southwest Ohio. Our students are spread from the Ohio-Indiana border to Fayette County, halfway from Cincinnati to Columbus. We serve middle school students, high school students, and adults. Our four campuses—Diamond Oaks in Dent, Laurel Oaks in Wilmington, Live Oaks in Milford, and Scarlet Oaks in Sharonville—feature state-of-the-art labs and technology. High school students attend during the day to study their choice of over 30 career areas, from aviation maintenance to construction to advanced manufacturing to robotics. They may even train horses, develop web applications, or become certified in a healthcare field. High school students can earn professional certifications as well as a diploma from their home high school. They can even earn college credit to continue their education. As another option, Great Oaks offers programs at more than two dozen middle schools and high schools that allow students to learn engineering, healthcare, education, and other fields while staying at their school. With these great facilities provided by you, we can also offer low-cost career training and certification for adults. The Great Oaks Education Foundation The Great Oaks Education Foundation was founded in 1999 as a not-for-profit organization committed to expanding access to quality career-technical programs for youth and adults, and to enhance community awareness throughout the Great Oaks district. Each year the foundation awards scholarships and grants to students with bright futures who deserve financial support to help them realize their dreams. Last year, students received more than $10,000 in Foundation scholarships and grants. The Foundation also contributed over $20,000 to help deserving students stay in school and graduate. Admissions Policy To enroll in one of the Great Oaks full-time career training programs, a student must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be a U.S. citizen or have permanent resident status. Students must meet testing benchmarks on the WorkKeys Assessments. Some programs may have additional requirements due to outside certifications.

Employment Training in job-seeking skills, résumé writing, and interviewing techniques are part of all full-time adult education programs at no additional cost. The Great Oaks Adult Education supervisors and career technical instructors are available for assistance with the above. Students will also have access to the services of the Placement Office at Career Services after graduation.

Career Training Program (Full-time) Cancellations/ Refunds Students may be entitled to a full refund if the student’s application is not accepted or the class is cancelled. Partial refunds (a $25 handling fee may apply) may be issued when a student cancels enrollment prior to the start date, or withdraws after the class starts. Refunds are calculated according to Great Oaks refund policy. If the student

Great Oaks Warranty Graduates placed through the Great Oaks Placement Program are covered by the Great Oaks Warranty. This guarantees employers that the graduate will perform satisfactorily in verified competency areas during the first year on the job, or Great Oaks will retrain at no cost.

Full-Time Career Training Programs Auto Collision Gain skills in structural and nonstructural analysis and damage repair, metal and plastics finishing, painting and refinishing, unibody repair, and detailing. Dental Assisting Join a fast growing profession! Learn to assist chairside during operative and specialty procedures, understand X-ray processes, learn basic types of impression materials, and identify and use basic types of dental and lab equipment. Review office receptionist duties. Learn CPR, first aid, oral hygiene, and preventive dentistry techniques. Students prepare to take exams for radiographer, CODA, and DANB. BCI and FBI record checks are required prior to enrollment.

Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technology Learn the all-important aspects of electrical and electronic repair and maintenance. Besides learning how to use test instrumentation such as digital voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and logic probes, you will also learn how to program PLCs and troubleshoot electrical motors and motor control circuitry. In addition, you will learn how to read ladder-logic diagrams and be introduced to pneumatics, hydraulics, and robotics. Students are eligible to earn the MSSC safety certification.

Full-Time Career Training Programs 0HGLFDO 2I¿FH Specialist/Billing & Coding Learn basic medical administrative skills, medical terminology, coding, and billing. You will also be introduced to computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Graduates may work in medical offices, hospitals, healthcare facilities, and insurance companies. This program prepares the learner for seven nationally recognized industry certifications including BLS. BCI/FBI background checks are required prior to enrollment.

Welding Technician Precision and excellent hand/ eye coordination are important for the welding program. You will learn various types of welds and cutting operations as well as fabrication, quality control, weld testing, and blueprint reading. Through this program, you will have the opportunity to become a certified welder. Other career pathways might include welding inspector, metal fabricator, or sales. Students are eligible to earn AWS certifications.

Police Academy The Great Oaks Police Academy offers over 700 hours of police training under the direction of a State Certified Police Academy Commander. Successful completion of this course and passing the Ohio Peace Officer Certification Exam is the first step to certification in the State of Ohio by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission. This certification eligibility is the gateway to inclusion in a class of individuals who are sought by many police recruiters. This program is accredited by OPOTA, Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy. Essential Personal Characteristics • Valid driver’s license • Good moral character as established by a criminal background check • No convictions whatsoever for felony offense of violence or domestic violence. No misdemeanor theft, drug abuse, or misdemeanor offense of violence within the last three years. Successfully pass drug screen.

Fire & Emergency Medical Rescue Academy

The Great Oaks Fire Academy offers 675 hours/18 weeks of EMS, fire, fire pumper, hazardous materials training, and technical rescue instruction from our nationally and internationally recognized faculty. All graduates of the accredited program receive Pro Board certifications and are eligible to take examinations for Ohio FF, EMT, Hazard Recognition Officer (Fire Inspector I) and National Registry of EMT credentials. Must pass a physical exam and background check (at additional cost). Computer 1 & 2 Day Seminar Classes: A $50 cancellation fee will be charged unless a cancellation is received no later than 48 hours before the start of class. Aspire HSE Classes Aspire High School Equivalency (HSE) Classes

Aspire HSE classes are FREE to adult students who need to prepare for a High School Equivalency test (GED®, HiSET®, or TASC®), get ready to go to college or an adult certificate-training program, gain employment, or enhance workplace skills. Classes are offered at many convenient locations. Before starting HSE classes, all students MUST attend an Information Session at our Scarlet Oaks campus located at
