Last season, TCT gave over $900,000 in ticket subsidies to schools, providing what is for most students their first experience with live theatre. TCT’s cost per student to attend a MainStage performance is $30. No school ever pays

KIM KERN
President & CEO
Kim is a native Cincinnatian and graduate of the Cincinnati Country Day School (’87) and Vanderbilt University (’91). Kim joined (TCT) in 2013 and has 29 years of experience in non-profit executive leadership. Under Kim’s leadership, TCT’s staff and budget have doubled and TCT completed renovation of their facility on Red Bank Road with eight, state-of-the-art studio spaces for their academy in addition to offices, a costume shop, MainStage rehearsal space, and a small theater. Kim now leads the $51M project to “reimagine” the Emery Theater as TCT’s new MainStage home. In 2015 Kim received a “Women of Influence” award, was a finalist in the “C-Suite Awards” in 2021, and was inducted into the Cincinnati Country Day School Arts Hall of Fame in 2023.
RODERICK JUSTICE
Artistic Director/Choreographer
This season Roderick celebrates 19 incredible years with The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati (TCT)! A Tony-recognized Arts Educator, and award-winning director, choreographer, costume designer, playwright, actor, and Broadway producer (How to Dance in Ohio), he is a mentor to hundreds of young performers. As a member of The Stage Directors & Choreographers Society, he has been producing theatre-for-youth for nearly two decades. In 2020, Roderick was recognized as one of Cincinnati’s 40 Under Forty. In 2021, he was named BroadwayWorld.com’s Arts Educator of the Decade. In 2024, he was an Honorable Mention for the Excellence in Theatre Education Award, presented by Carnegie Mellon at the Tony Awards. Since assuming the role of Artistic Director in 2015, he has launched over 25 world-premiere original works and adaptations of theatre for young audiences (TYA). Roderick also serves as guest artist with many local and national arts organizations, is involved with several community initiatives and non-profit boards, and is proudly one of Cincinnati’s “Men Wear Pink Campaign” members, where for the past 6 years, he has helped to raise over a million dollars for the American Cancer Society. www.roderickjustice.com
MADDIE JONES
Director/Associate Artistic Director
After earning her B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from Northern Kentucky University, Maddie earned her Master’s in Arts Administration from the University of Kentucky. She has been performing, directing, and choreographing for TCT’s MainStage for nearly 20 years. Maddie is the director of TCT’s STAR Intensive and is the Director of Musical Theatre at the School for Creative and Performing Arts. She has performed across the globe and her choreography has been seen on stages across the US. In 2020, Maddie was recognized by Broadway World Cincinnati as Dancer of the Decade. She has received many national and regional awards for her choreography in hip hop, contemporary, musical theatre dance and tap dancing. Maddie and her husband, James
Jones, have been performing together for many years, and they just welcomed their daughter and future star, Sayler James.
TYLER GABBARD
Scenic Design
Tyler is the Producing Director of Theatre at The Carnegie, dubbed “Favorite Local Theatre” by the BroadwayWorld Cincinnati Awards. Tyler has worked as a designer for theatres in New York City and Los Angeles and over a dozen venues in Kentucky and Ohio, including 20 shows at The Carnegie. He was selected to participate in the Emerging Leadership Institute of the Association of Performing Arts Professionals and in 2023 he won the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce’s Next Generation Leader Award in Arts, Entertainment, and Hospitality. Recently, Tyler was featured in Movers & Makers’ Notables in Performing Arts and Queer Kentucky’s 25 Faces of Fairness. He has a BFA in Drama from NYU/Tisch and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from NKU. Tyler lives in Bellevue with his husband Jack and their dog Popsicle.
BENJAMIN GANTOSE
Lighting Design
Benjamin is an Ohio native. He grew up in Berea, Ohio, and attended the CollegeConservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, where he studied theatrical design and production with an emphasis on lighting design. Benjamin has been involved in both scenic and lighting design for works spanning ballet and modern dance, scripted and devised theatre, musical theatre, opera, and theme parks. He is Resident Lighting Designer at Cleveland Public Theatre and an Associate Designer at the Cincinnati Ballet and Kansas City Ballet. Benjamin’s work has been seen recently at Cleveland Playhouse, Ballet Hawaii,
Beck Center For The Arts, Cleveland Musical Theater, Verb Ballets, and Inlet Dance Theatre. As an Associate Designer, Benjamin’s work includes lighting and scenic designs at Louisville Ballet, Colorado Ballet, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Cain Park, and Lakeland Civic Theatre. This is Benjamin’s 11th season with The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati.
NOELLE WEDIG-JOHNSTON
Costume Design
Noelle’s background is in textiles and fabric art & design (B.F.A. Fibers, College of Mount St. Joseph), (M.F.A. Textile Design, Savannah College of Art & Design). She has been creating costumes for the Cincinnati Ballet as the Wardrobe Supervisor for the last several seasons. She has also designed for The Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati, ArtWorks, Madcap Puppets, Cedar Fair’s Kings Island, LF Creative Group, and The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. Noelle is a member of The Cincinnati Wardrobe Union (Local 864).
JAMEY STRAWN
Music Director
Jamey is a professor in the NKU Theatre and Dance program, where he serves as the Coordinator of Musical Theatre. Aside from teaching musical theatre courses, he enjoys teaching with CCSA in the study abroad program in London. Jamey has composed music for several published works for the stage, including Sleeping Beauty-Rise And Shine, A. Lincoln: A Pioneer Tale, Snow White And The Dancing Dwarfs, The Day Before Christmas, Church Girls, and Burgertown. When he is not writing, Jamey is directing, musical directing, performing, and teaching.

Kevin has been creating puppets for The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati since 2006, masks and costumes for The Central Park Zoo, New York Aquarium, The Puppetworks Inc. of New York, and Colonial Williamsburg. His puppets have been seen in People magazine, Showtimes’s Twisted Puppet Theater, the PBS documentary Stories of the American Puppet, and on stage with Cincinnati Opera as well as in the New York store windows of Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s, and Hermes New York, and in the family film Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium.
DON MOORE
Audio Engineer
Don Moore has worked on production projects for Pepsi, PlayStation, and the Cincinnati Bengals. More recently, Don Moore was featured on Bootsy Collins 2011 song, “Hip Hop @ Funk U,” alongside rap legends Ice Cube and Chuck D. He was also featured on Bootsy Collins’ “Z Classified” alongside Buckethead.

Jadi is excited for his fourth season with The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati. He has previous Stage Management experience for the Henry Mancini Academy, the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center, Busch Gardens Entertainment, Kings Island Entertainment, and the Hamilton City School District. He was also a Theatrical Project Manager for Vincent Lighting Systems, and a Lighting Director for Riverfront Live, the Madison Theater, the Fitton Center for the Creative Arts, and the Greater Hamilton Civic Theatre.
