ompanies in the Tristate are dropping the boardroom meetings and instead are opting for unique and entertaining twists on corporate events.
ITALIAN EATING Situated in the heart of Newport, Pompilio’s Restaurant offers authentic Italian food—with over 80 years of experience—in a historic building, and can accommodate everything from wedding receptions to corporate happy hours. “During the outdoor season we can host corporate events on our bocce ball court featuring an outdoor bar,” says Joe Bristo, co-owner of Pompilio’s. Any meeting at Pompilio’s Restaurant is met with the lasting reputation for fine, authentic Italian cuisine, promising a fresh and stress free experience. “The food sets Pompilio’s apart,” says Bristo. “The fact that the food is homemade, there is nothing we open from bags, and the history of the location definitely sets us apart.”
URBAN CREATIVITY One of Wade Dent’s endeavors to support the revitalization of Over-The-Rhine is Venue 222, located in a remodeled 1868 building. With four meeting rooms in a two-story loft environment, an abundance of amenities and features, and exceptional activities such wine tastings, extraordinary event options are limitless. “We are super flexible, and we don’t get hung up on what can or cannot be done,” says Debbie Dent, co-owner of the building and manager of events. “Clients can use a favorite caterer, and because we have a liquor license, they may also bring their own drinks as long as they mention it beforehand.”

DANCE AND DINE Located where the historic Starlight DriveIn once stood in Aurora, Ind., Starlight Reception Hall’s new facility can accommodate any gathering from an intimate meeting to a large corporate convention. “An elegant atmosphere sets the tone for guests in a variety of settings from our indoor banquet center to our beautiful outdoor waterfall and gazebo area,” says John Zeidan, owner of the Starlight Reception Hall. Starlight’s tiled reception area features comfortable seating for up to 500 guests, and the polished hardwood dance floor allows for an entertaining evening.
PARTY AND PLAY Under The Weather Sports Complex can accommodate events from small parties to large receptions in its more than 75,000-square-f00t complex. “There is no venue like this in Greater Cincinnati with a warm, welcome living room overlooking a turf field on one side and a sport court on the other,” says Kelly Mahan, vice president of sales and marketing and co-owner of Under The Weather Sports Complex. This living room features a fireplace, televisions, a full bar and complimentary Wi-Fi, and the sport court can be covered and converted to a dance floor. The complex is also home to The Academy of Sports Performance, located in the east wing of the building, and features a basketball court. Mahan says between 200 and 300 people can be accommodated on the soccer field. Batting cages are coming soon. n w w w.
