LOGOS
CSU utilizes both a logo and seal for distinct purposes. The CSU logo is comprised of the shield with words, and is used primarily for advertising, promotional items and marketing purposes both internally and externally.
The CSU seal is the shield encircled with the university name and is used strictly for academic purposes.
Due to the wide range of marketing materials and specialty products that CSU produces for employees, prospects and students, several variations of the logo are acceptable.
CSU LOGO USAGE CSU’s logo is saved in different formats for different print and digital applications. Please refer to the information below to help you when selecting a logo for use. JPG, GIF, PNG, PICT, BMP These formats are used in various digital media including the web and PowerPoint presentations. JPG file — for office printing only—This file may be imported into a word-processing or presentation program, reduced in size, and placed on a white background. JPGs may be reduced but should not be enlarged. The JPG reproduces poorly when enlarged. GIF file — This file should be used as is, without rotation or resizing. This logo can be used in PowerPoint presentations. A GIF file has the ability to provide the logo with a transparent background so that if you place the logo on a colored background, only the graphic appears.
High Resolution TIFF This format is resolution-based and is very limited in scalability. The minimum high-quality print resolution for the CSU logo is 300 dpi. However, 600 dpi is preferred. It is best not to upscale this type of logo in your design layout program. Vector This format is best used for quality print vendors. It is a scalable graphic, meaning that is can be resized and not lose the quality of the logo. This file can be used when providing a logo to outside vendors for printing on promotional objects such as large trade show displays, t-shirt designs, signs and banners. You won’t be able to preview this file unless you have Adobe Illustrator. The official CSU seal The seal is used only for official college business (e.g., transcripts, Commencement materials, certificates, etc.). Do not use the seal without written permission from the university.
