12”x12” Patterned Cardstock (DCWV Old World) 8.5”x11” Plain Paper in coordinating color; 5/8” Organza Ribbon (Old Willow); Vellum style paper; Flower, button or charm; Adhesive
Tools Used:
Bind-It-All by Zutter; Scissors; Ink Pad; Image Editing Software Octagonal Template - (available at www.scrapbookdimensions.com)
Using your image editing program, create four 3” squares. (Make them white with a light outline to mark where to cut them out). Choose four vintage photos or clip art of ladies in their bonnets or hats and center the images in your squares making sure to leave room for the lacings along the sides. Paint the hats in whatever colors you wish using the colorizing tool or airbrush if desired. Print the squares on Vellum style paper and allow to dry before cutting them out. Print the template and use it to cut an octagon with 3” sides from a piece of 8.5”x11” heavy cardstock. Cut eight 3” squares from the patterned cardstock. Cut two 1” strips from the cardstock for the handle. Use the Bind-It-All to punch along the bottom and sides of the 3” cardstock squares and vellum squares. Center each side of the octagon and punch in the Bind-It-All. Some of the holes will overlap, but will be covered by the ribbon.
