After growing up on the beach on Jupiter Island, I found it difficult to live in Florida and not live on the beach! I have always loved the mountains. In 2002, my husband and I visited the Blue Ridge Mountains in Southwest Virginia. We made a 3 year plan to move and arrived a few days early. We sold our home on 2 acres in Florida and bought a fixer upper on 340 acres in Virginia bordering the Jefferson National Forest with the Appalachian Trail in the backyard and the Kimberling Creek surrounding us. We have deer, turkeys, and occasional bears in the yard. I own Mountain Sky Properties, Inc., a real estate brokerage with offices in Bland, Va., Wytheville, VA. and Hillsville, Va.
