A great start After a handful of years focusing our efforts on the promotion of Chilean cinema around the world, now is the turn for television. At Cinemachile we are specially thrilled to embark on this new path and release to the world a new brand to represent our products in the most important tv markets: MICH!TV. The vast majority of professionals working on films in our country, have worked or are currently working on television, and so far we haven’t rendered outside our country Chile’s great production leap in this area. It is a task that fills us with enthusiasm: there are a large number of independent television producers in Chile whose work deserves to be known, valued and traded in the international market. From now on, this effort will have its own distinguishable brand: MICH! TV, with which we will enter the world’s most important television markets and fairs. Chile is recognized in the region for its highly competitive environment: in our local industry there are seven television broadcasters, four of which concentrate an approximate of 70% of the total share, an uncommon phenomenon for Latin America where the competition is usually between two or three parties. Added to this is the growing penetration of pay-TV,which this year reached a 64% placing Chile as the third Latin American country in number of people who have this service. In this context, independent production is a powerful force in this market, which is characterized by its enormous capacity to generate quality, creative and innovative content. These producers are responsible for the greatest events in Chilean television in recent years, from series co-produced by HBO with a regional impact as “Prófugos” as others with a high local impact as “My life at the 80s”, “The Cardinal’s Archives” or “Gen Mishima” in association with major national broadcasters. All productions have international standards, similar to what had already been happening with Chilean soap operas, known abroad due to the talent of its writers. In this area, independent production has also generated renewed strengths with products like “Esperanza” and “The lady & the worker” among others. In the children’s area, Chilean programs like “31 Minutos” and “Zumbastico Fantastico” have crossed borders to Mexico, Brazil and pan-regional channels like Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. In the factual genre, merits have not been minor: the series “What is your dream?”, an endearing portrait of childhood in Chile, won this year’s International Emmy Award in the category of “Best Program for Children and Youth”. As shown in this catalog, it is a diverse offering of successful and sustainable business models, attractive for worldwide networks, with a highly seductive pricequality ratio coming from a stable, transparent and reliable environment. Un magnífico comienzo Luego de un puñado de años enfocando nuestros esfuerzos hacia la promoción del cine chileno en el mundo, ahora es el turno de la televisión. En CinemaChile nos produce una emoción especial embarcarnos en este camino y estrenar mundialmente una nueva marca que represente a nuestros productos en los mercados de televisión más importantes del mundo: MICH!TV. La gran mayoría de los profesionales que trabaja en cine en nuestro país también lo hace o lo ha hecho en televisión, y hasta ahora ha sido una tarea pendiente dar cuenta fuera de Chile del gran salto que ha tenido nuestra producción nacional en este rubro. Es una tarea que nos llena de entusiasmo: en Chile hay un gran número de productores independientes de televisión cuyo trabajo merece ser conocido, valorado y comercializado en el mercado internacional. A partir de este momento este esfuerzo tendrá su propia marca para ser reconocido: MICH! TV, con la que desembarcaremos en los mercados y ferias de televisión más importantes del mundo. Chile es reconocido en la región por presentar un entorno altamente competitivo: en nuestra industria local compiten siete canales de televisión abierta, de los cuales cuatro concentran aproximadamente el 70% del encendido, algo poco común en América Latina donde habitualmente esta competencia se da entre dos o tres actores. A eso se suma una creciente penetración de la televisión de pago, que este año llegó al 64% colocando a Chile como el tercer país latinoamericano en número de personas que cuentan con este servicio. En este contexto, la producción independiente conforma una fuerza poderosa dentro de este mercado, que se caracteriza por su enorme capacidad para generar contenidos de calidad, creativos e innovadores. Los grandes sucesos de la televisión chilena de los últimos años han sido realizados por estas productoras, desde series en coproducción con HBO y de alcance regional como “Prófugos”, hasta otras de alto impacto local como “Los 80”, “Los archivos del cardenal” o “Gen Mishima” en asociatividad con importantes broadcasters nacionales. En todas ellas los estándares de producción son de nivel internacional, algo similar a lo que ya venía ocurriendo con las teleseries chilenas, conocidas fuera de Chile por el talento de sus escritores. En esta área, la producción independiente también ha generado una fuerza renovadora con productos como “Esperanza” y “Dama y obrero”, entre otros. En el área infantil, programas chilenos como “31 minutos” y “Zumbástico fantástico” han cruzados fronteras a México, Brasil y canales panregionales como Cartoon Network y Nickelodeon. En el género factual, los méritos no han sido menores: la serie “Con qué sueñas”, un entrañable retrato de la infancia en Chile, se llevó este año el Emmy Internacional al “Mejor Programa Infantil y Juvenil”. Como puede verse en este catálogo, se trata de una oferta diversa con modelos de negocios exitosos y sustentables, muy atractiva para cadenas de todo el mundo, con una relación de precio y calidad altamente seductora que proviene de un entorno estable, transparente y confiable. SYNOPSIS At the end of XIX Century, indigenous groups from South America were kidnapped and exhibited in European zoos and varieties fairs, suffering disease and death. 130 years later we reconstructed its itinerary: we found photos, relics and the remains of those five people in Switzerland. The tenacious struggle of their descendants to bring them to their land showed how discrimination and racism are still present in the Chilean authorities. A fines del s. XIX, grupos originarios del sur de América fueron secuestrados y exhibidos en zoológicos y ferias de variedades europeos, padeciendo enfermedad y muerte. 130 años después reconstruimos su itinerario: encontramos fotografías, vestigios y las osamentas de 5 de aquellas personas en Suiza. La tenaz lucha de sus descendientes por devolverlos a su tierra demostró cómo la discriminación y el racismo continúan presentes en las autoridades chilenas.

SYNOPSIS “One, two, three, let’s play!” is a preschool series that encourages "the game" through stories about friendship, teamwork and emotions. Each chapter develops a game to interact with viewers. Its protagonists are a girl, a duck, a pig and a rooster. The key phrase to start the game is "One, two, three, let’s play". “Uno, dos, tres ¡A jugar!” es una serie preescolar que estimula la actividad lúdica a través de historias llenas de amistad, trabajo en equipo y valores positivos. Cada capítulo desarrolla un juego para que los niños lo aprendan y repitan en sus casas. Sus protagonistas son una niña, un pato, un cerdo y un gallito. La frase clave para comenzar la diversión es “uno, dos, tres ¡a jugar!”.

SYNOPSIS “Ruling High School” is a children sitcom about an eclectic school government and its desperate attempts to fulfill the list of a thousand promises made during the election campaign. The main obstacle for this ridiculous goal is the maniac and eccentric school principal, who considers that this awkward administration is not worthy of the glorious “Sir Francis Drake English School”. “Centro de Alumnos” es una sitcom infantil de formato clásico sobre una ecléctica directiva escolar y sus intentos desesperados por cumplir con una lista de mil promesas hechas durante la campaña electoral. El principal obstáculo a este ridículo objetivo, es el maniático y arribista Director del colegio, que considera que la bizarra directiva no es digna del glorioso “Sir Francis Drake English School”.
