Un 2015 de desafíos y gratificaciones; de ampliación de miradas y metas junto con el placer de sentir que éstas se van cumpliendo. Este año comenzó con la exitosa asistencia al festival de cine de Berlín y prosiguió con Guadalajara y Miami, donde el audiovisual chileno destacó con excelencia.
We experienced challenges and gratifications in 2015, with expanded views and goals as well as the pleasure of seeing how they were accomplished. This year began with a successful attendance to the Berlin film festival, followed by Guadalajara and Miami, where Chilean audiovisual works excelled among the rest.
No obstante ello, CinemaChile también está abocado en un esfuerzo clave por poner a disposición de los públicos de nuestro país las creaciones nacionales en todos sus géneros, para que funcionen como una alternativa real frente al circuito de multisalas centradas en difundir cine extranjero (de preferencia Hollywoodense). El propósito es dar circulación y acceso a la producción audiovisual chilena con un programa de exhibición de cine de ficción y documental, cortometrajes, series y animaciones, garantizando así una cartelera amplia en diversidad, con una oferta programática nacional permanente que promueva y fomente el hábito de ir a ver estas obras.
Yet CinemaChile is also focusing on its key effort to bring local works, in all of their genres, to our country’s audiences, so they will stand as a real alternative to the multiplex circuit that focuses on promoting foreign films (mostly Hollywood). Our purpose is to provide circulation and access to Chilean audiovisual production with a film exhibition program for works of fiction, documentaries, short films, series, and animated movies, thus guaranteeing a widely diverse local offer that would promote and encourage the habit of watching these films in a theater.

Ya lo habíamos hecho con nuestros actores y directores, ¿por qué no hacerlo también con ellos, asiduos asistentes a los mercados de cine y TV más importantes del mundo? Hemos seleccionado a un grupo que se ha destacado internacionalmente gracias a sus producciones de cine, televisión o animación. En algunos casos, ¡todas las anteriores! Dificilmente pasarán desapercibidos después de verlos aquí…
OUR PRODUCERS Usually they avoid the flashes. They’re all about low profile. Private meetings behind closed door. Behind the camera and off the frame. It’s important, however, that we put a face on our producers, who are also responsible for the international success of Chilean films and audiovisual works. We already did it with our actors and directors, so why not do it also with them, the usual guests to the world’s top film and TV markets? We have selected a group who stood out internationally thanks to their film, television, and animated productions. In some cases, all of the above! They will hardly go unnoticed after you see them here…

Es el evento cultural más importante del extremo norte del país durante febrero. FICIQQ (Festival Internacional de cine de Iquique) reúne a sus más de 8 mil espectadores, durante una semana, con destacados invitados nacionales e internacionales para presentarles una programación variada y pensada en los intereses de la ciudad, alejada de los grandes estrenos comerciales. FICIQQ, desde hace 7 años, busca construir un espacio de discusión y formación sobre el cine, las audiencias y la cultura local.
Festival Internacional de Cine de Lebu, orientado principalmente al cortometraje, de carácter independiente, organizado por Agrup. Cult. Fest. de Cine Caverna Benavides. Las competencias son: Cortometraje Internacional y regional documental, ficción, animación y documental Pueblos originarios. Existe sección industria compuesto de “AF, Asesorías” y distribución.
It is the most important cultural event in the extreme North region of Chile during February. FICIQQ (Iquique International Film Festival) congregate about 8 thousand people in one week, with national and international guests. The program is thinked speciftly for the city, that it is so far away of big comercial premiers. FEMCINE SANTIAGO 15 AL 20 (6º VERSIÓN) FEMCINE, Festival Cine de Mujeres es el primer y único certamen cinematográfico en Chile dedicado a celebrar, difundir y premiar el cine hecho por y sobre mujeres. FEMCINE busca fortalecer a las realizadoras, por lo que desarrolla espacios de formación en donde ellas encuentran inspiración, información y contactos. Tiene tres categorías de competencias ellas para mujeres directoras: Largometraje Iberoamericano, Cortometraje Iberoamericano y Cortometraje para estudiantes Chilenas. FEMCINE , Women Film Festival is the first and only film festival in Chile dedicated to celebrate, divulge and reward films made by and about women. FEMCINE seeks to empower womenfilmmakers, developing audiovisual training spaces where they find inspiration, information and contacts. Santiago Festival Internacional de Cine, SANFIC, cuenta con tres competencias: una internacional, otra de cine chileno y una de cortometrajes nacionales. A esto se suma un completo panorama de largometrajes de ficción y documental de todo el mundo, programados en sus diversas secciones paraleleas. Además posee un espacio de Industria compuesto por; Work in progress Latinoamericano, Santiago Lab, SANFIC NET y actividades especiales.
FICVINA difunde cine latinoamericano a través de competencias internacionales y nacionales de largo y cortometrajes, cine en progreso, muestras especiales, área negocios, cine infantil, concierto música películas y más. Auspiciado por el Consejo de la Cultura y las Artes, la Municipalidad de Viña y Universidad de Valparaíso. La entrada es liberada y el país invitado es Cuba.
FIDOCS es el Festival Internacional de Cine Documental más importante de Chile y uno de los más destacados de América Latina. Tiene 18 años de existencia ininterrumpida. Fundado en 1997 por el cineasta Patricio Guzmán, ha mantenido desde sus inicios dos líneas de acción fundamentales :convocar a la comunidad de documentalistas nacionales estimulando su organización y diálogo, y difundir y promover el cine documental Chileno y mundial.

FIDOCS is the most important International Festival of Documentary Film in Chile and one of the most prominent in Latin America. It has existed for 18 uninterrupted years. El Festival Internacional de Cine de Valdivia exhibe cine internacional y chileno en tres categorías competitivas: Largometraje Internacional, Largometraje Chileno y Cortometraje Latinoamericano. Su programa no competitivo incluye retrospectivas históricas, focos de cineastas invitados, estrenos de cine contemporáneo, películas de política y vanguardia.
Este año 2015, queremos fortalecer la diversidad cultural que Fesancor expresa poniendo una particular mirada en los modos en que ellas se hacen presente. Hemos podido observar este fenómeno y queremos explorar y buscar esas articulaciones donde la diversidad se afirma cada vez más consiente de su rol en los procesos creativos. Hasta ahora la búsqueda forzada de una unidad cultural asimilable de la unidad territorial mantuvo desmedrada, casi clandestina la diversidad.
Somos el único festival 100% de cine chileno en nuestro país. Centramos nuestra visión en el desarrollo cultural, artístico y educativo, con énfasis en la producción y difusión del cine de ficción, documental y animado nacional y regional. Nos proyectamos como la gran plataforma del cine chileno, a nivel nacional.
Valdivia IFF (FICValdivia) exhibits international and chilean films in three competitive categories: International Features, Chilean Features and Latin American Short Films. This year 2015 we want to strengthen the cultural diversity that expresses FeSanCor, putting a particular look at the ways in which they are made present. We have observed this phenomenon and we want to explore and find those joints where diversity increasingly aware of its own role in the creative process. Until now a forced search for a comparable cultural unity of the territorial unit remained stunted, almost clandestine diversity.

DIVA FILM FEST, es el festival de cine de Valparaíso enfocado a la diversidad en todos sus contextos, que incorpora exhibición de películas, actividades formativas, desarrollo de foros, eventos y fiestas, actividades que se transforman en un importante espacio de vinculación entre el quehacer cinematográfico mundial y la ciudadanía. DIVA es un espacio para pensar la sociedad, a la cual asisten miles de espectadores anualmente, siendo un evento exitoso en participación ciudadana e inclusión.
Es un evento anual que desde hace 12 años reúne lo mejor del cine documental de vanguardia a nivel mundial. SURDOCS es un “Festival de Espectadores”. Su parrilla programática es rica en contenidos, diversa y pensada especialmente para públicos heterogéneos. SURDOCS es una actividad inclusiva, abierta y que busca además ser un espacio de formación, difusión y promoción del cine documental nacional e internacional.
Festival internacional especializado en cine y documental musical. Desde el año 2004, se ha planteado como un espacio de encuentro para la música y el cine, el sonido y la imagen, tendiendo un puente entre audiencias usualmente disociadas. Acumula en Chile once ediciones ininterrumpidas. El grueso de su programa lo constituyen estrenos extranjeros y nacionales que abordan la música de diferentes géneros, épocas y biografías.
The International Documentary Film Festival, SURDOCS, is an annual event that for the last 12 years has offered free exhibitions of cutting-edge documentaries. SURDOCS makes possible the encounter between new audiencies and high quality contents. In addition, it has been considered as one of the scenarios with the greatest projection, becoming an important platform for documentary films and industry.
International Music Documentary Film Festival. Since 2004 its been a space for music and films, sound and image. this 2015 is the eleventh version of the festival that is programmed with the most importants screenings, premiers and work of the national and the international industry that approach music in every way.
DIVA FILM FEST is a film festival located in Valparaiso that focuses on diversity in all of its contexts and features film screenings, training activities, forums, events, and parties, all of which become a link between the citizens and the international film scene. DIVA is a place to reflect on society that draws thousands of spectators every year, as well as a successful event of civil engagement and inclusion.

Ever since its origins, cinema –as well as every expression in the audiovisual field– has represented a factory of collective dreams, of images that express moving identities, stories about an “us” that is destined to endure. Queremos contribuir significativamente al proyecto país desde el sector de la economía creativa, poniendo al alcance de cualquier persona en Chile y el extranjero las realizaciones audiovisuales nacionales, junto con estimular el emprendimiento en este campo sin distingos de géneros. Compartimos la visión de un sector audiovisual chileno dinámico y entusiasta, capaz de fomentar y democratizar el acceso a su producción audiovisual, tanto de talentos jóvenes como consagrados, en salas nacionales y alrededor del mundo.
We want to make a significant contribution to this project of a nation from the field of creative economics, by bringing everyone in Chile and abroad closer to local audiovisual products and stimulate creative ventures in this field without any distinction of genres. We share the vision of a dynamic and enthusiastic Chilean audiovisual sector, one that is able to promote and democratize access to local audiovisual productions by both the talented young and the established directors, in local theaters and around the world.
