São Paulo (Brazil) and Copacabana (Bolivia) DEVELOPMENT PHASE In development SYNOPSIS Following his brother's traumatic death, Fernando, a young man, departs on a journey of flight and self-discovery to the Andes. He finds himself in an involuntary retreat at the margins of Lake Titicaca (Bolivia), where he gets involved with an unconventional community - and gains some perspective about his internal issues. His real journey (escape self-knowledge - questions - overcoming) is put to test when he runs into the corpse of a mysterious murder’s victim. The story portrays the moment of silence and introspection that is often necessary in the aftermath of traumatic or outstanding events, and that might or should precede taking important decisions. This is the movement the film calls "The Path of the Bear" - a path that inevitably leads to profound

transformations. This theme is carried off by Fernando at the end of his teenage years - a period in which life’s rites of passage and transformations are even more enhanced. Aside Fernando’s internal changes in the plot, his choices also unchain unexpected consequences in the lives of everyone around. The narrative's subtext addresses the classic hero’s journey, though not necessarily through the heroic point of view, but rather, through the bias of accepting personal responsibility - with all of its hardships- and of oneself, with its potentials and limitations.

PORTUGUESE | DOCUMENTARY | 100 MIN | DIGITAL HD | COLOR | 2018 BUDGET US$ 500,000 DIRECTOR Walter Carvalho SCREENWRITER Leonardo Gudel COUNTRY OF PRODUCTION Brazil PRODUCTION COMPANY Elixir Entretenimento FILMING LOCATION São Paulo (Brazil) DEVELOPMENT PHASE In development SYNOPSIS In a reality in which the dependence
conceals the rights guaranteed to every individual, “Crackland - Home of the Invisibles” rescues not only the dignity of the crack usurers but also makes it clear that the governmental power and the society must – and do – take part of this issue: more than show the problem of these people, the documentary will discuss what are the practical solutions that can be developed by the Government and by civil society. With the goal of providing the viewer a broader understanding of the complex reality in which dependents are inserted, we leave always from the point of view of four main characters in “Crackland – Home of the Invisibles”, they are: the dependent, the mother, the social worker and the former user. Making use of a speech interspersed between these four perspectives, the film will have in its dynamic, distinct looks that represent different segments of the problems involving the use of Crack.
