500 BC - 500 AD
This work covers the development of the Theater/Library for the City of Bahía de Caráquez, as part of the earthquake replanification effort, which seriously affected the province of Manabí where the city is located, on April 16, 2016.
DESIGN PROCESS
HOW IS IT CULTURALLY IDENTIFIED BAHÍA DE CARÁQUEZ?
The development focuses on offering the citizens a cultural space, while also enhancing the population’s identity under the reinterpretation of the pre-Columbian culture — via the facades of the Theater-Library building — where these facades feature forms resembling pre-Columbian patterns from the region. As part of the development proposal, the design advocates the creation of open and closed spaces that promote the interaction between squares and volumes.

The endeavor consists of two volumes with viewpoints that promote visuals to the city, and inside tours that relate the land with its streets throughout the entire context of the city.
