Zuckerberg once stated, Young people are just smarter. In short, entrepreneurs who get an early start are quite successful, as to founders who start late. Serial entrepreneurs are very successful when they start young and end up being serial entrepreneurs learn on the job. They're a select group and they're real go-getters. The Serial Entrepreneur's Advantage Young businesspeople who “come of age” as serial entrepreneurs become highly successful as they are real go-getters. Getting Older and Bolder 7% of the founders they studied had a father who was an entrepreneur. The children of entrepreneur fathers generated sales that were 5.9% higher. Young successful serial entrepreneurship is synonymous with portfolio entrepreneurship, they are the real “stars” of serial founders. They show how things are done today. What's clear is the importance of humanity at work, and the Human Resources profession now holds fundamental importance.
One professional leading the future of People & Culture (P&C) is James Hancock, Co-Founder at mwah. Making Work Absolutely Human. In our recent interview, James spoke to his career experiences and the work he and his colleagues do to shift P&C at mwah. Below are the highlights of the interview: Brief our audience about your journey as a business leader until your current position at mwah. What challenges have you had to overcome to reach where you are today?
I genuinely believe that whatever your title or level, wherever in the world you sit – the best leaders are remarkably similar. They listen to people, care, are generous, try to help, make sure they do what they say they will, and they show up for others. I was very thankful to land a Graduate position in P&C at a large Australian bank, working in generalist and specialist P&C positions. I left to join the Global Markets business with a great leader and team of people, who showed me what great leaders do every day. My time there made me even more passionate about the work we have the opportunity to do in P&C. Over my career, I've seen the function work well at times, poorly at times, and indifferently at times. I saw it done well within the P&C function and often outside of it. And I think that's been the biggest challenge in my career – balancing the unwavering belief that people matter and that P&C must be better and can have a real, significant and lasting impact.
Like many other business leaders, my career to date has been an interesting, diverse, and formative journey that has led me to the position I hold today. I feel really lucky to have been able to work and study Business and Psychology at University. All the way through high school and University I did lots of different jobs from delivering marketing flyers into letterboxes to working at McDonald's, pouring coffees at Starbucks, and listening to customer inquiries and complaints at PepsiCo. None of these jobs were particularly glamorous, each had their own challenges, and I never got a job because of 'who I knew.' I grew up with a single parent and a lot of love from my brother and grandparents. I am so grateful for the challenges and opportunities that came from that – seeing that hard work matters, that support matters, that families and work is different and that every person deserves real care and attention.

How are you leveraging technological advancements to make your solutions resourceful? We are very clear that we must work where humanity and technology come together to make our lives better. We are using technology to measure the complex human system that is organizational culture through our mwah. Culture Dashboard – across Diversity Identity, Belonging, Social Mapping, Privilege and Human Capital. We've designed a solution that is simple and intuitive, with insights in the hands of everyone. We firmly believe the way forward is to democratize P&C within organizations – so people can do great work together by understanding each other properly. Our thinking is clear – humans are momentum players. Every interaction we have with each other should be building growth and forward momentum. Where do you envision yourself to be in the long run and what are your future goals for mwah? For me, building growth and momentum means I am here to stay in the People & Culture ecosystem, constantly striving to bring it forward as work, organizations, communities and society evolves.
To make an impact, you must listen and understand the voices and perspectives in the current context and create the simplest possible solutions and practices with the right support behind them. It is what you are likely already doing with your customers and external stakeholders now; you must replicate this for the people you work with!
I will always be fascinated by the intersection of People, Business, and Technology. Having strong exposure to Institutional Banking and Finance, and increasingly into Investment, Venture Capital, and Private Equity, means I am intrigued by the concrete and sustainable outperformance that organizations with great culture can have.
My impact is all about getting to the 'right practice' – for the people, context, and business in front of me. You can only do that if you've really listened, understood, and designed to add value with the best intentions. And, you don't have to get it the right first time. Trying with sound thinking and rationale and the right reasons will give you the receptivity and chance to refine as needed.
So, the future will find me right here, continuing to build mwah. as a force to be reckoned with, alongside our clients and partners. As more and more organizations push the boundaries on the way their organizations have a positive impact in the work they do, it is an absolute gift to change the way people think about this profession, what is expected of it and what's possible.

he legalities and complexities of hiring and managing employees are challenging tasks, often requiring the time and administrative investments of at least one full-time employee. Krystal Yates started EBR HR Experts to help small businesses make sense of employment and compliance regulations while also creating a solid Human Resources foundation on which they could grow and become more successful. She decided that the best way to proceed was to put her vast business experience to work as her own boss. Though the journey has been full of surprises, unexpected detours, and, at times, intense changes, her pursuit of job fulfillment eventually paid off.

Below are the highlights of the interview: Brief our audience about your journey as a business leader until your current position at your company. Lindsey Myers founded Concrete Blonde Consulting in November 2016 and has since been named one of the “Top 15 PR Agencies in New York” by The Manifest and one of the “Top 10 Best PR Agencies” by Web Surf Media. A communications expert and entrepreneur, she has over fifteen-years of experience in NYC and the Hamptons luxury market. In 2018, Insights Success Magazine named her one of the “30 Most Innovative CEOs” of the year.
Myers graduated from Boston University with a BS in Communications and concentration in Public Relations. She began her career at WordHampton Public Relations, a firm headquartered in East Hampton, NY and ranked by Jack O'Dwyer's as one of the country's "Top 100 Independent PR firms". Recognized as a strategic leader, she has earned a track record for counseling clients, including Fortune 500 companies such as NAPCO Security, Inc., to increase profits, manage brand reputations and gain market share. In 2013, she became an equity partner and was chosen to launch the company's NYC division. Professional, confident and well-respected by her peers, she has also been a guest lecturer at several universities including Hofstra University and Saint Joseph's University, possessing a presence people often found unforgettable. She founded CBC with the aim of allowing herself the freedom to delve into other industries of interest, such as activism, sustainability, technology, aerospace and healthcare. As she continued her career, the media became a vehicle for her belief in humanity, her curiosity, her passion for entrepreneurship, her patriotism and her business ethics. During the pandemic she moved to The Outer Banks where she continued her journey and also began strategic media consulting for a class action real estate lawsuit. It was

during this time when her passion for justice — both legal and social was reignited. In June 2021, she returned to the Buckeye state with a move to Cleveland, Ohio to reunite with loved ones and remember her roots. She continues her consulting career remotely with both national and international contacts and looks forward to expanding her horizons with new opportunities. Myers also serves as President of the Board for non-profit Mind, Body, Soul, Survivor helping victims of sexual assault and on the Steering Committee for St. Mary's Children's Hospital. What challenges have you had to overcome to reach where you are today? The challenges have been numerous and mostly involve learning how to run a business and maintain positive relationships and cash flow.
