1. ate Manifesto We are surprised you don’t have one. It is critical to understanding what Tate does, and why. We are willing to support the development of a manifesto, and concede both space and time from Spring 2016 towards this. But Tate must take ownership and responsibility, take it seriously, & the results must be public. We have many ideas, but our opening offer is : 1. the manifesto should be painted right across the building as an artwork 2. the manifesto should be cried from the roof tops by a town crier.
3. it should be on the Tate homepage.
4. it should be sung in the lobby by a chois.
2. 24hr Opening We would like more information on how much it would cost, what restrictions there are and which areas of the Gallery this could be achieved to inform our position.
3. To Learn from Art and Artists. Why temporary? Shouldn’t this be at the heart of what Tate does? the idea of school is too restrictive, Our opening offer is a live studio, where people can experience what it is like to be an artist or to create art, not be told what it is like.
4. Place to take naps We have considered this and established that the issue is that the furniture is uncomfortable, so you cant relax in the gallery.
5. To hear applause every time we walk in. We have considered this demand and decided would like you to invest in us, and give us the opportunity to shadow Tate staff.
We are ready to negotiate. please respond by 00:00 on 29.10.15.
