The security management was informed by a Shift Supervisor that his patrol Officer had found various items in various places that were not supposed to be there.
The security management team decided to carry out a thorough investigation. During the investigation, they discovered several items were removed from their original places to very unsafe places. They also discovered cables were cut in one of the main plant rooms.
Prior to this investigation, the security team had noticed the engineers removing some wires and copper cables in bins, but they did not pay too much attention to it because this work was being carried out during their normal working hours.
The team discovered that the electric cable inlet rubber seal was tampered with and replaced it with the aluminum tap and the remaining aluminum tap was on the floor. It was decided to check the floor below this area, which is an electrical riser room, they discovered some leaks coming from the roof, and 6 thick electrical cables were cut.
The Client was informed, he was unaware of these activities and wanted to see them for himself. After having seen the evidence physically client wanted to view the CCTV footage.
The client then decided to involve the Metropolitan Police for the damage caused by these activities.
Three engineers seen on the CCTV footage have been suspended pending further investigation.
