Julie “Juice” Ross A picture is worth a thousand words. For the past 14 years, Julie Ross has been the backbone of the Athletic Department. A wise counselor to parents, students, and coaches alike, she has ensured every athlete is properly uniformed for games, attended 28 team picture days, arranged flowers for countless banquets and senior nights, collected forms too numerous to mention, served as proofreader, cheerleader, and the voice of reason. She is the Skyhawk Nation’s greatest fan. Happy retirement, Julie--we will miss you! -- JEFF BARNES Julie is the smile, heartbeat and the pulse of the athletic department office. If you want to know or it has to be done go to or ask Julie. -- BRALYN BENNETT
The Hammond Historian, The Supporter, Mrs. Compassionate, The Truth Teller, The Supplier, The Athletic Coach Psychologist, The Student Parent. Ms Ross serves so many roles for a lot of people. She has made my transition to Hammond painless and extremely welcoming. With always kind words of encouragement to offer and infinite words of wisdom, Ms. Ross created such a caring positive environment in the Athletic Department. A simple Thank You does not express my appreciation. You will be missed. Enjoy your future endeavors. Love and Happiness, ROSHAN MYERS Julie Ross is one of the most genuine and compassionate people I’ve ever been around. She is so easy to talk to because of how well she listens and just simply cares. She is also one of the most trustworthy people I know. If I am fortunate enough to find a woman that is 1/4 of the person that Julie is, then I will be one lucky man! -- JON WHEELER
It’s amazing how much Julie does for for Hammond’s coaches and athletes. Someone will take her place when she leaves, but she’ll never be replaced. -- CRAIG FARNSWORTH Julie and I go back a long way from playing tennis at Quail Racquet to our guys hunting together. We have had some good talks and laughter through the years and I will miss that the most. She is always so helpful with any situation and her shoe will be hard to fill. Enjoy your time with your sweet family , you deserve it. Happy retirement Julie !! -- MARJAN LUCAS
Julie Ross is the cohesive, nurturing bond that not only pulls the athletic community together, but also serves as the heartbeat of all the students, coaches, parents, and faculty she comes into contact with at Hammond School. -- ERIK KIMREY When I think of Julie, I think of someone who brightens up the room just with her smile. Her lovely spirit matches her beautiful appearance. Like the flowers she arranges with such skill and talent, she enhances whatever environment she is in! Julie is always willing to lend a helping hand to friends and colleagues. She is such an essential part of the Athletic Office but also the bigger Hammond community. She is going to be missed by all. Julie, I have been blessed by your friendship. Thank you! -- Ruby Elenz
An amazing oasis among mounds of jerseys, cleats, trophies and equipment ... there you’ll find Julie! A bright smile, warm heart, and a true team player. Thank you for your friendship! -- Cissy Pope

FALL ATHLETICS • 2016
This year marks the 51st season of athletics at Hammond. For a relatively young school, we have amassed an impressive record of state championship wins and reached a level of athletic participation not always seen in other programs. In addition to being named recipient of the SCISA President’s Cup for best athletic department, we celebrated five championship wins last year, placing our overall number at 127. At Hammond, we differentiate ourselves by the success our students achieve in the classroom, with that same level of achievement being seen in our sports and arts programs. Hammond prides itself on instilling the value of hard work in whatever endeavor our scholarathletes undertake. We owe our success to devoted Skyhawk parents, coaches, and student-athletes without whose support our success would not be possible. Here at Hammond, we strive to develop the intellectual, physical, social, and moral strength of each student-athlete, and to provide a multitude of opportunities in which this can happen. Realizing that academics is the backbone of our programs, we believe athletics plays a vital role in helping students become champions not only on the field, but in the classrooms ... and in life. We are pleased to have you join us. Thank you for supporting our student-athletes. Go Skyhawks! Jeff Barnes Athletic Director
Dear Skyhawk Supporters, Thank you for helping make Hammond Athletics the best SCISA sports program in South Carolina! With your continued support the 20162017 season is sure to be our most successful year ever. As you know, participating on a sports team is part of the total education of a child. The comradery, discipline, hard work and perseverance is integral to helping our kids achieve their greatest potential. Nearly all of our students participate in some athletic endeavor during their years at Hammond. The Skyhawk Club was created to help to fund and support all Hammond teams in each and every way. Many of you might ask, “How can I help Hammond student athletes?” There are several ways for you to participate: •
Join the Skyhawk Club for season passes, reserved parking and other great benefits.
•
Volunteer in the concession stand or ticket booth.
•
Make a cash donation to the Skyhawk Club.
•
Place an ad in one of our Sports Programs
On behalf of the Skyhawk Club, thank you for your support of Hammond School athletics. Go Skyhawks! Craig Augenstein Skyhawk Club President 2016-2017
