O. Perry Earle, Jr. Tennis Center & Donald C. Bunch Courts

Named for O. Perry Earle, Jr., a 1936 Citadel graduate and former varsity tennis player, the Earle Tennis Center is the headquarters of the Bulldog tennis program. Finished in the spring of 1990, the center houses two locker rooms, a coach’s office, an equipment room and meeting room. The Don C. Bunch Courts, named after a long-time Citadel administrator and tennis coach of 30 years, received a major facelift in the fall of 1995 with Laykold resurfacing, new windscreens and new fencing. In addition, the entire area was landscaped to blend with the campus. Lights were added to three courts in the fall of 1998.

Michelle Lomonaco

Athletic Trainer Fourth Year Appalachian State (2003) Michelle Lomonaco, a 2003 graduate of Appalachian State University, is in her fourth year as a member of The Citadel Sports Medicine Department. Lomonaco, who is a certified athletic trainer, oversees all long-term and surgical rehabilitation. She is also responsible for overseeing the athletic training of all women’s athletic teams and is the primary sports medicine contact for the tennis team. While at Appalachian State, Lomonaco worked as a student assistant in the Mountaineer training room and worked directly with the Mountaineer’s football, women’s soccer, softball, volleyball and tennis teams. She earned her bachelor of science degree in athletic training with a minor in exercise science. Lomonaco, a native of Sauquoit, N.Y., recently earned her masters degree in physical education in The Citadel’s Graduate College.

Adam Feit

Strength Coach First Year Springfield College (2006) Adam Feit begins his first year at The Citadel as an Athletic Development Graduate Assistant in 2007. Feit assists Athletic Development Director Frank Wintrich in the physical development of Bulldog athletes, concentrating mainly with the football, track and field, and tennis teams. Feit joins The Citadel staff after working at Arizona State as a sports performance intern where he supervised strength training programs for all junior college transfer football players. Feit also aided in the Sun Devil football team’s post-workout recovery and restoration sessions. Feit graduated magna cum laude from Springfield College (Mass.) in 2006 with a bachelors of science degree in applied exercise science. While at Springfield, Feit was a four-year football letterman and received All-American honors in 2006. Named the Springfield College Unsung Hero Athlete of the Year, Feit was a starting offensive lineman and team captain for the Pride in 2006. Hailing from Chicopee, Mass., Feit currently resides in Charleston and is pursuing a master’s degree in health, exercise and sport science at The Citadel’s Graduate College.

First Year

Joseph Douglas joined The Citadel staff as Assistant Director of Media Relations in 2007. At The Citadel, Douglas is responsible for the media relations coverage of volleyball and tennis, while serving as the secondary contact for the Bulldog basketball team. Douglas also assists with the day-today responsibilities of The Citadel’s media relations office. Douglas served as a student assistant in The Citadel’s Media Relations office for four years while being a member of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets. Douglas gained valuable experience with The Citadel Athletics Department, serving as a statistician for the football, volleyball, soccer, basketball and baseball teams. While attending The Citadel, Douglas earned his bachelor’s degree in sport management. He is currently working towards a masters of arts in teaching with an emphasis in physical education at The Citadel’s Graduate College. A native of Hampton, S.C., Douglas resides in Charleston.

With returning players and incoming recruits, The Citadel aims at a Southern Conference title, a trip to the NCAA tournament for the team, as well as for some stellar individual, nationally ranked, players within the team. Head Coach Toby Simpson is entering his seventh season as the head coach at The Citadel. The Bulldogs are returning five players from last year’s squad including the nationally ranked doubles tandem of James Eason and Daniel Dossetor.

Head Coach Seventh Year Southern Mississippi (1998) final rankings. During the 2003-04 campaign, the Cadets started with an impressive SoCon record of 6-0. In his five years at The Citadel, Simpson has taken the Bulldogs from 11th in the SoCon to fourth, with great expectations for this year’s team.

Beginning his seventh season at The Citadel and sixth as head coach, Toby Simpson has the tennis program becoming a force to be reckoned with in the Southern Conference. Simpson continues to develop cadet-student-athletes into winning tennis players and winning teams. Under Simpson’s guidance, The Citadel has reached the quarterfinals (or further) in the Southern Conference Tournament four of the last six seasons. The Bulldogs struggled in 2007 as a whole, but the duo of James Eason and Danny Dossetor proved once again to be among the best players in the Southern Conference. Eason and Dossetor made school history by being the first ever nationally ranked doubles team, ranking as high as 20th nationally. Dossetor also became the first singles player ever nationally ranked in school history at 118th in the nation.

Along with the team’s success, Coach Simpson has had many team members gain individual honors on the courts as well. In 200405, he coached freshman Danny Dossetor to the First Team All-Southern Conference team as well as receiving the SoCon Freshman of the Year Award. Along with Dossetor, freshman James Eason was tabbed Second Team All-SoCon, and teamed with Dossetor to claim a First Team All-SoCon selection in doubles. In 2003-04, under Simpson, senior Matt Stubbs was a First Team All-SoCon selection and senior John Williams was the recipient of the league’s Sportsmanship Award, presented annually to one player in the conference and voted by all of the league’s coaches, as the player who demonstrates sportsmanship in all his endeavors. Additionally, Stubbs was also a First Team All-SoCon pick his sophomore campaign in Simpson’s first year at The Citadel. During his senior year, John Williams was awarded The Citadel Brigadier Foundation’s Senior Athlete of the Year Award as the top senior cadet-student-athlete at The Citadel as voted on by his fellow seniors.

Simpson stresses classroom perfection from his team as well. In three of his four years as head coach, tennis has led the men’s athletics in overall GPA. In 2002, `04 and `05, the tennis team achieved the honor as an NCAA/ ITA All-America Team with an overall GPA of 3.2 or better, the best of 3.5 in `02. Simpson has coached 14 NCAA/ITA Academic All-Americans (overall GPA of 3.5 or better) with five athletes achieving perfect 4.0 GPAs. Along with the All-Americans, Simpson has had 20 team members on the Southern Conference All-Academic Team and Athletic Director’s Honor Roll. Simpson is no stranger to success at the collegiate level, on and off the court. As a player at the University of Southern Mississippi, he garnered many athletic and academic awards. Simpson was a three-time All-Conference USA selection while at USM and was a member of the first team in school history to reach the NCAA Tournament. He concluded his senior year with a final NCAA singles ranking of No. 52 nationally, the highest in school history. During his senior campaign, Simpson posted wins over the No. 1 and No. 7 players in the NCAA, respectively. Upon completion of his collegiate career, Simpson played professionally for a summer before returning to his alma-mater to begin coaching. During this time, Simpson played

The Bulldogs finished the 2006 campaign with a sixth place finish in the league as the Bulldogs featured two of the best players in the SoCon. James Eason finished the year as the only player in the SoCon to go undefeated in conference singles play, garnering All-SoCon Second Team honors. Eason paired up with Daniel Dossetor to bring home All-SoCon First Team honors as the two dominated doubles play throughout the year. Simpson’s teams excelled in the classroom as well as two Cadets - Eason and Nick Medica - were named to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team while Medica was named Academic All-American (Second Team). After graduating, he finished school as the second highest cadet, completing four years with a perfect 4.0 grade point average. Prior to the 2006 season, the Bulldogs posted two fourth-place finishes in the league’s

After returning from Europe, Simpson joined the coaching staff at USM as a graduate assistant coach for two seasons. After completing work on his master’s degree, Simpson became an assistant coach at Penn State for one season. While coaching for the Nittany Lions, Simpson helped guide players to two All-Big Ten selections as well as national rankings before coming to The Citadel. In addition to collegiate coaching, Simpson has taught and worked with many current collegiate players and nationally-ranked juniors, and is certified at the Professional Level of the United States Tennis Professional

Registry (USPTR). Simpson has served as a hitting partner for some of the best players in the world, such as Jennifer Capriatti, Venus and Serena Williams, Conchita Martinez and Justine Hennin-Hardenne at The Family Circle Cup held in Charleston for the past four years.

She is currently the Assistant Athletics Director/Senior Woman Administrator in The Citadel Department of Athletics. His experience both on and off the court will be a valuable asset to the program and it speaks volumes of both our program and our school to be able to lure such a quality person to The Citadel.” Born Jan. 15, 1983, Wojtkowski earned his degree in middle childhood education in 2006 at The Ohio State University. He currently resides in Charleston.

Wojtkowski, a native of Columbus, Ohio, spent three years playing at the University of Toledo before transferring to Ohio State. As a scholarship student-athlete at Toledo, Wojtkowski was a three-time Varsity T award winner, Team Leadership Award winner and team captain. Immediately upon transferring to Ohio State, Wojtkowski redshirted his senior year to come back and play another year, academically his first year of graduate school, as the Buckeyes won

2007 SEASON REVIEW Bulldogs Faced Tough 2007 Schedule

The Citadel Tennis team struggled through a very tough schedule in the 2006-07 season as they added three nationally ranked opponents to an already tough Southern Conference lineup. The Bulldogs finished the season with a disappointing 2-21 overall record, going 0-9 in the SoCon. Juniors Daniel Dossetor and James Eason had a solid year, both receiving All-Conference honors. Dossetor and Eason’s doubles team received All-Southern Conference First Team honors while Dossetor also received AllSoCon First Team singles honors. Dossetor was ranked 118th nationally in singles during the first half of March, and the duo of Dossetor and Eason began their 2007 season ranked 20th nationally. Dossetor and Eason became the first Bulldog tennis players ever to be recognized nationally. Dossetor and Eason finished the fall season with an 11-2 mark in doubles competition. The pair had a Cinderella story run through the ITA Regional Championships in the doubles bracket as they defeated 14th-ranked Ytai Abougzir and Maciek Sykut of Florida State, 9-7 and Duke’s Joey Atas and David Goulet, 8-5, at the ITA Regional Championships. The duo fell in the semifinals of the ITA Regional Championships to Georgia Tech’s George Gelesiani and David North, 8-5. However, they continued their impressive fall, winning the USC Fall Invitational doubles crown after topping Coastal Carolina’s David Mellis and Elliott Quibell in the finals, 8-3. The two of them also recorded a perfect 3-0 record at the Charleston Fall Challenge. The Citadel opened the season on the road with three tough losses at 37thranked North Carolina State, 25th-ranked Clemson and in Colorado Springs, Colo. against Air Force. The Bulldogs did, however, pickup their two wins of the season in Colorado Springs sweeping Idaho State and South Dakota State, 7-0. The Bulldogs came up short in very close matches against Coastal Carolina (43), Charleston Southern (5-2) and East Carolina (4-3). The Dogs then traveled to Chattanooga for their first Southern Conference game of the season, but fell to the Mocs, 6-1. The Dogs returned home to face Illinois

State and Appalachian State, but came up short in both matches losing 5-2 in each. The Bulldogs then played three consecutive nationally ranked teams beginning at 30th-ranked Tennessee, hosting 45thranked Drake and a conference match against 44th-ranked Elon. The Dogs did not perform as well as they had liked to against the stiff competition losing, 6-1 (UT), 7-0 (Drake) and 6-1 (Elon). The Bulldogs then headed back out on the road to play UNC Charlotte and UNC Wilmington before wrapping up the regular season with seven straight conference games. The Dogs again found trouble on the road losing both games, first a 5-2 decision to the 49ers and a 6-1 result to the Seahawks. The Citadel then hosted 59th-ranked Furman and Wofford at the Earle Tennis Center before traveling to Davidson. Unfortunately, the Bulldogs could not get any momentum going as they had disappointing showings in each match losing by a score of 6-1 in all three outings. Still out on the road, the Bulldogs headed from Davidson to Greensboro where the Dogs showed that they still had some fight left in them giving UNCG all that they could handle in a 4-3 loss to the Spartans. After being swept by cross-town rival and 58th-ranked College of Charleston, the Bulldogs headed to Statesboro to finish off the season. The Bulldogs battled down to the very last match, but the Eagles would find a way to win, 4-3. This would not be the last time that the two teams would meet though as the 10th seeded Bulldogs drew the eighth seeded Eagles in the first round of the Southern Conference tournament. The Citadel rallied from a 3-0 deficit of Georgia Southern in the conference tournament to pull within one at 3-2, but Derek Jose was upended at No. 4 singles as Georgia Southern eliminated the Bulldogs from the tournament ending their season. The Citadel lost lone senior Derek Jose, but welcomes back All-Southern Conference honorees Dossetor and Eason along with returning junior Martin King, sophomores Alberto Diaz and Frederic Petrilli for the 2007-08 season.

SOUTHERN CONFERENCE The Southern Conference, which began its 87th season of intercollegiate competition in 2007, is a national leader in emphasizing the development of the student-athlete and defining the league’s role in helping to build lifelong leaders and role models. The Southern Conference is the nation’s fifth-oldest NCAA Division I collegiate athletic association. Only the Big Ten (1896), the Missouri Valley (1907), the Pacific 10 (1915) and the Southwestern Athletic (1920) conferences are older in terms of origination. The Southern Conference has also excelled as the premier Football Championship Subdivision conference. Southern Conference member Appalachian State has won the last two Football Championship Subdivision titles. The Conference currently consists of 11 members in four states throughout the Southeast and sponsors 19 varsity sports and championships that produce participants for NCAA Division I Championships. Academic excellence has been a major part of the Southern Conference’s tradition. League athletes have been recognized countless times on Verizon/CoSIDA Academic All-America and district teams. A total of 19 Rhodes Scholarship winners have been selected from conference institutions. The Southern Conference office is located in the historic Beaumont Mill in Spartanburg, S.C. A textile mill that was in operation from 1880 until 1999, the Beaumont Mill was renovated in 2004 and today offers the SoCon a first class meeting area and offices as well as a spacious library for storage of the conference’s historical documents.

25th Anniversary of Women’s Championships

The Southern Conference will celebrate 25 years of women’s championships in 2007-08. A year-long celebration of women’s sports will highlight student-athletes, coaches and teams. Commissioner Ken Germann spearheaded the Southern Conference’s expansion to include women’s athletics. The Germann Cup, named in honor of the former commissioner, annually recognizes the top women’s athletics programs in the conference. From its humble beginnings, women’s athletics have become an integral part of the Southern Conference and its success. The league crowns champions in nine women’s sports including cross country, soccer, volleyball, indoor track & field, basketball, tennis, golf, outdoor track & field and softball.

Membership History

The Southern Conference was formed on February 25, 1921 at a meeting in Atlanta, Ga. as 14 institutions from the 30-member Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association (SIAA) reorganized as the Southern Conference. Those charter members included Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi State, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Tennessee, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Washington & Lee. Athletic competition began in the fall of 1921. In 1922, six more schools - Florida, LSU, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tulane and Vanderbilt - joined the fold. A year later, the University of the South joined the ranks. VMI became a member in 1925 and Duke was added 1929. Since then, conference membership has experienced a series of membership changes with 42 institutions having been affiliated with the league. The league has undergone two major transitions during its history. The first occurred in December 1932 when the Southeastern Conference was formed from the 23-school Southern Conference. The league’s 13 members west and south of the Appalachian Mountains reorganized to help reduce the extensive travel demands that were present in the league at the time. In 1936, the Southern Conference invited The Citadel, William & Mary, Davidson, Furman, Richmond and Wake Forest to join the membership. The second major shift came about in 1953 when Clemson, Duke, Maryland, North Carolina, North Carolina State, South Carolina and Wake Forest withdrew from the league to form the Atlantic Coast Conference. This change was

brought about due to the desire of many of those schools to schedule a greater number of regular season basketball games against local rivals. Today, the league continues to thrive with a membership that spans four Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. Current league members are Appalachian State, College of Charleston, The Citadel, Davidson, Elon, Furman, Georgia Southern, UNC Greensboro, Chattanooga, Western Carolina and Wofford. On July 1, 2008, Samford will officially join the league, brining membership of the conference to 12.

Leadership

John Iamarino was officially named commissioner of the conference on January 2, 2006. Previously, Iamarino served as commissioner of the Northeast Conference. In nine years with the New Jersey-based league, Iamarino promoted the conference through an ambitious agenda which improved competition, upgraded compliance-related matters and increased the marketing and brand awareness of the conference and its member institutions. The Southern Conference named its first commissioner in December 1950. Duke head football coach Wallace Wade made the transition from Blue Devil football coach to athletics administration as the first person at the helm of the conference. Lloyd Jordan replaced Wade as the commissioner in 1960 and served a 14year term until Ken Germann became the league head in 1974. Germann was the commissioner for 13 years and orchestrated the league’s expansion to include women’s athletics. In 1987, he was succeeded by Dave Hart who spearheaded the transfer of the league office from Charlotte, N.C. to Asheville, N.C. Wright Waters succeeded Hart upon his retirement in 1991. Under Waters’ leadership, the Southern Conference expanded to 12 members, added three women’s sports and posted record revenue from the basketball Tournament. Waters, who is currently the commissioner of the Sun Belt Conference, was followed by Alfred B. White in 1998. White, a veteran member of the NCAA office, introduced the current SoCon logo and elevated the conference’s commitment to marketing and development of corporate partners. He became the president of the Asheville franchise of the National Basketball Development League in 2001. Danny Morrison headed the conference from 2001-2005 and orchestrated the league’s move from Asheville, N.C. to historic Beaumont Mill in Spartanburg, S.C. Under Morrison’s leadership, the conference increased its marketing and promotional efforts.

Championship History

The first Southern Conference Championship was the league basketball tournament held in Atlanta in 1922. The North Carolina Tar Heels won the tournament to become the first recognized league champion in any sport. The Southern Conference Tournament remains the oldest of its kind in college basketball. The Southern Conference began sponsoring women’s sports during the 1983-84 season. That year, league championships were held in volleyball, basketball and tennis. Cross country joined the mix in 1985 and the league began holding indoor and outdoor track championships in 1988. Most recently, the conference instituted golf and softball championships in the spring of 1994 and added soccer in the fall of 1994. The Southern Conference currently declares champions in 10 men’s sports - football, soccer, cross country, basketball, indoor track and field, outdoor track and field, wrestling, baseball, tennis and golf - and nine women’s sports - soccer, volleyball, cross country, basketball, indoor track and field, outdoor track & field, tennis, golf and softball.

Lt. General John W. Rosa President Third Year The Citadel (Class of ‘73) Colo., and in September of that year, he was promoted to lieutenant general. He remained in that position until his retirement from active duty in November 2005. On Jan. 3, 2006, Rosa returned to The Citadel where he serves as 19th president.

he Citadel President Lt. Gen. John W. Rosa was born in Springfield, Ill., Sept. 28, 1951. After graduating high school in Jacksonville, Fla., in 1969, he was recruited to play football at The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina. While at The Citadel Rosa was starting Bulldog quarterback in 1970 and went on to earn three varsity letters in football. He graduated from The Citadel in 1973 with a degree in business administration and was awarded a commission in the Air Force. A command fighter pilot with more than 3,600 flying hours, Rosa enjoyed an illustrious 32-year career in the Air Force. Among his career highlights, he was stationed in Lossiemouth, Scotland, as an American exchange officer flying the Jaguar for the Royal Air Force. He has commanded at squadron, group and wing levels at air bases in South Korea, Idaho, South Carolina, New Mexico and Georgia. He served as inspector general for Pacific Air Forces at Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii and commandant of The Air Command and Staff College at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama. As deputy director for operations for the Joint Chiefs of Staff in Washington, D.C., he was in charge of the National Military Command Center and served as the military spokesman for the Pentagon when U.S. troops were deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq in 2002. In July 2003, he was named superintendent of the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs,

Rosa holds a master’s degree in public administration from Golden Gate University. He is a graduate of the Air Force Command and Staff College, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and the U.S. Army War College. And he has studied at the John F. Kennedy School of Government and the Harvard Graduate School of Education. His awards include the Distinguished Service Medal, the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit with oak leaf cluster, the Meritorious Service Medal with four oak leaf clusters, the Air Force Commendation Medal and the Combat Readiness Medal with two oak leaf clusters. He has flown the A-7, A-10, Hunter and Jaguar aircraft, F-16, F-117A, HH-60G and HC-130.

At a school where leadership is taught

and duty is part of the curriculum, The Citadel has the right person to lead its Department of Athletics in Les Robinson. A virtual Who’s Who in intercollegiate athletics and one of the region’s most sought-after speakers, Robinson is in his seventh year as the Bulldogs’ Director of Athletics. Possessing more than four decades of college athletic experience to his credit, Robinson, who also served as athletics director and basketball coach at North Carolina State and East Tennessee State, is only the fifth athletics director in Citadel history. He served as the Bulldogs’ basketball coach from 1974-85, having spent the five previous seasons as an assistant coach. In his eight years leading The Citadel’s athletics program, Robinson’s skills as a proven fund-raiser have already benefited The Citadel Brigadier Foundation. Robinson has been faced with having to hire three football coaches during his tenure. The process in which he hired Ellis Johnson, John Zernhelt and current coach Kevin Higgins , featured a coast-to-coast whirlwind tours of the entire Citadel family, and was received extremely well. He was successful in getting numerous people to talk about Citadel football months in advance. He recently hired basketball coach Ed Conroy, and administratively, has realigned the Athletics Department’s administration. During the past five years, the school witnessed the opening of the Altman Athletic Center at Johnson Hagood Stadium and the addition to McAlister Field House for women’s athletics. He hired the school’s

first senior woman administrator, taken measures to revamp totally the department’s weight room, and is personally spearheading the football stadium project. The stadium project has entered the forefront in The Citadel Athletics community as the West Side stands have been torn down and rebuilding expected to be complete in August.

The Citadel, under Robinson’s guidance, has hosted the Southern Conference cross-country championships, the first two rounds of the women’s basketball championships, the men and women’s tennis championships and the baseball tournament.

In addition, the cumulative grade point average of athletes at the ACC institution exceeded that of the general student body. Robinson and the N.C. State family also witnessed the opening of the Entertainment and Sports Arena, a 19,700-seat facility which serves as the home of the Wolfpack men’s basketball program and the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League.

A 1965 graduate of N.C. State, Robinson served five years as a Bulldog assistant coach under Dick Campbell and George Hill, and eventually spent 11 seasons as The Citadel’s head basketball coach from 1974-85. He directed the 1978-79 and 1984-85 teams to 20 and 18 victories, respectively. Robinson was named the Southern Conference Coach of the Year in 1979 and was tabbed South Carolina’s Coach of the Year in 1979 and 1985. The West Virginia native remains the only coach in Southern Conference men’s basketball history to earn league coach of the year honors at two different schools, and

As athletic director at N.C. State from 1996-2000, Robinson oversaw a department with an operating budget of $25 million and sent 11 teams to postseason play. During his final year, the department witnessed a $1.1 million surplus.

Robinson earned a bachelor of science degree in education and recreation from N.C. State in 1965. The Robinson’s, who have maintained a home on Sullivan’s Island since coaching at The Ctiadel, have four children: Greg, Robby, Kelly and Barbara; and eight grandchildren: L.G. Robinson, Savannah Graves, Lily Graves, James Graham Boyd, Hugh Bissell Graves, Mary Emma Graves, Charles Simon Boyd and Samuel Robinson Boyd.

Males and females are admitted to the undergraduate residential Corps of Cadets. In addition to the day program, undergraduate and graduate programs are offered through The Citadel Graduate College (CGC) in the evening. The South Carolina Commission on Higher Education recognizes The Citadel as the only specialized four-year college in the state. Corps of Cadets ...

All students at The Citadel are cadets in the South Carolina Corps of Cadets, which numbers approximately 1,900 and represent nearly every state, as well as more than 20 countries. While roughly 40 percent of the graduates each year go into the armed services, all cadets participate in an ROTC program. On most days, cadets have physical fitness training and military instruction in addition to their regular college classes. Weekdays end with a formation and required evening study period.

Because The Citadel emphasizes corps unity, cadets cannot be married and all must live on campus in the barracks with their assigned company. Despite the challenges, cadets value their first year for the lessons in teamwork, selfdiscipline and time management. Academic Programs...

Because of the strength of the academic program, The Citadel has repeatedly been rated as a top regional institution in the annual rankings issued by U.S. News and World Report. The quality of the education at The Citadel combined with the availability of financial aid, the credentials of the faculty and the graduation rate earned the institution the citation of Best College Value in the South in 1999. With more than 80 percent of its students returning each year, The Citadel enjoys one of the best retention records in the country. Citadel Graduate College...

The Citadel’s evening college serves the Lowcountry by offering nationally accredited bachelor’s, master’s and specialist degrees scheduled around the student’s profession, family and lifestyle. It is the well-known Citadel academic excellence in a civilian environment. The CGC offers 20 graduate programs with concentrations in education, psychology, computer science and business. The Master of Business Administration program is the only nationally accredited MBA program in the Lowcountry region of South Carolina. “A Cadet does not Lie, Cheat or Steal, nor Tolerate those who do.” The Honor Code is fairly simple. This code, while simple, offers the key to living and maintaining an honorable life. Cadets are trained that there is never a situation in which they should participate in, or tolerate, dishonorable activities. These core values of honor and integrity are exactly the values which allow Citadel cadets and alumni to improve their organizations and their communities. Honor is the most cherished principle at The Citadel. In today’s post-corporate-scandal society, honor, integrity, and ethics are in high demand. The Citadel strives to achieve excellence in the education of principled leaders, also known as the “whole person” concept. The Honor Code encompasses all aspects of cadet life, from academic integrity to personal integrity. It has evolved from an unwritten tradition known as the “code of the gentleman” to a formalized code in September of 1955, when the Corps of Cadets unanimously voted to establish The Honor Code. The development of a cadet into a principled leader is a four-tiered process that includes knowing, adhering, believing, and leading.
