SHAUN MILLER  | ALAN Shaun recently graduated from Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Theatre credits include: Hansel & Gretel (Citizens Theatre); The Rivals (Citizens Theatre, Bristol Old Vic, Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse); En Folkefiende (Squint/The Richard Burton Theatre Company); All That I Am, Narrative, Macbeth, The London Cuckolds, The Winter’s Tale (The Richard Burton Theatre Company); BOYS (Open Letter Theatre Company); Two Noble Kinsmen, Frankenstein (RWCMD); Fleeto (Tumilt in the Clouds). He is currently the John Mather Actor Intern at the Citizens Theatre.

BARBARA RAFFERTY  | SADIE Barbara studied at the Sorbonne Paris and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. She has performed in theatres all over Britain. Her association with the Citizens Theatre began with Les Justes (1972) in The Close Theatre Club, a former sister company of the Citizens Theatre. She later played Maggie in Giles Havergal’s Citizens Theatre production of Men Should Weep (1998) and more recently appeared in True West (2013), The Libertine (2014) and Endgame (2016). She is delighted to be back at the Citizens Theatre in this iconic play by the great John Byrne and under the directorship of Caroline Paterson. Theatre credits include: The House Of Bernarda Alba (Raindog Theatre Company); Blood Wedding (Donmar Warehouse); Steel Magnolias (Dundee Rep); The Missing, Yer Granny (National Theatre of Scotland); two tours of the London Palladium production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and many pantomimes at the King’s Theatre in Glasgow. Television credits include: Rab C Nesbitt as Ella Cotter (BBC Scotland); Katie Morag as Grandma Mainland (Move On Up); Rockface, River City, Sea of Souls, Garrow’s Law, Doctors, Murder Rooms (BBC); Taggart (STV). Films credits include: Blood Red Roses (Blood Red Roses Productions); The Last King of Scotland (Fox Searchlight Pictures); Women Talking Dirty (Rocket Productions); Billy Bongo Leaves Home (Peel Street Films); Last Word (Sigma Films); The Wicker Man (British Lion Films). She has recorded many radio plays and comedies. Barbara is married to actor Sean Scanlan.

LAURIE VENTRY  |  WILLIE CURRY Laurie has worked extensively in theatre, film and television since 1980. Theatre credits include: Faustus, Jekyll & Hyde, Loot, Confessions of a Justified Sinner (Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh); Wasted, A.D. (Raindog Theatre Company); The Cone Gatherers, Carmen, Danton’s Death (Theatre Communicado); Animal Farm, Othello, Mother Courage (Citizens Theatre); An Inspector Calls, A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Perth Theatre); Gillespie, Glasvegas (Borderline Theatre Company); Herbal Remedies, Defender of the Faith, Ghosts (Arches/Tron Theatre) and has also worked with Òran Mór, Wiseguise and Unit One. CREATIVE TEAM CAROLINE PATERSON  | DIRECTOR Theatre credits include: Takin’ Over the Asylum, Twelfth Night (Citizens Theatre); Perfect Days (Oldham Coliseum); Macbeth (Raindog Theatre Company). TV credits include: Holby City, Spooks, EastEnders (BBC); Skins (Company Pictures); Coronation Street (Granada Television); Taggart (SMG); The Necklace (Warner Sisters). Film credits include: Long Distance Information (HSI London); Last Word (Stigma Films); Venus Peter (BFI). Caroline was the winner of Best Actress at Rheims 2004 for playing the part of Rosemary in Rehab (BBC Films). Caroline would like to dedicate the show to the memory of Johnny Doyle who played Phil in the original production of Cuttin’ A Rug.

KENNY MILLER |  DESIGNER Kenny Miller is a freelance director and designer who was for many years Head of Design/Associate Director of the Citizens Theatre. He has worked in theatre and opera all over Scotland, England, America, Germany and Canada. He won the Manchester Evening News Best Production Award for 10 Rillington Place, won CATS Awards for Best Ensemble for his Little Bit of Rough season, Best Technical Production for Smoking with Lulu and Best Production for Scrooge.He recently directed and designed The Seagull, Company Policy, Romeo & Juliet and Don Giovanni for Òran Mór, and Harold and Maude, Days of Wine and Roses for Theatre Jezebel, of which he is a founding member. Other designs include: April in Paris (Perth Theatre/Horsecross Arts); Autobahn, Doubt, A Parable (Theatre Jezebel); Valhalla!, Ya Beauty and the Beast, Betrayed, From the West Bank, Address Unknown, Flo White, Staircase, Casablanca: The Gin Joint Cut (Tron Theatre); Mary Queen of Scots Got Her Head Chopped Off, Our Teacher’s A Troll (National Theatre of Scotland); Proof, Tam O’Shanter (Perth Theatre); The Steamie (National Tour) Clockwork (Visible Fictions/Scottish Opera) and Marilyn (Citizens Theatre).He is an associate artist at the Sherman Theatre, Cardiff and designs for them have included The Weir, Dolls House and Romeo & Juliet.

GRANT ANDERSON  |  LIGHTING DESIGNER Grant graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland having studied lighting design and left receiving the Dean of Drama Award for Best Individual Work. Currently, Grant is working in theatres all over the country on a diverse range of projects and productions. Grant has also designed extensively for the Scottish events industry, including Botanic Lights: 2015 Seasons In Colour, 2016 EXPLORE (Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh); Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh; Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Torchlight Procession & Street Party, including the 2017 Midnight Moment. Grant was also responsible for designing Scotland’s 2014 Moment in Edinburgh. As well as designing in the UK, Grant’s work has transferred internationally to New York, Beijing, Madrid, Valencia and Rio. Other drama credits include: Simon’s Magical Christmas Socks, Panic Patterns (Citizens Theatre); Alan Cumming Signs Sappy Songs (Edinburgh International Festival); The Broons (Sell A Door); To Begin (National Theatre of Scotland Learn); Love Song, In My Father’s Words, Hecuba, Promises Promises, Baby Baby (Dundee Repertory Theatre); The Polar Bears Go Wild (Macrobert); News Just In (Random Accomplice); And The Beat Goes On (Perth Theatre/Random Accomplice); Wendy Hoose (Birds of Paradise/Random Accomplice); Summer on Stage 2012 - 2016 (Lyceum Theatre); The Maw Broon Monologues (Tron Theatre). Grant is a member of the Association of Lighting Designers.

EJ BOYLE  |  MOVEMENT DIRECTOR Theatre credits include: This Restless House, Trainspotting (Citizens Theatre); Lanark: A Life in Three Acts (Citizens Theatre/Edinburgh International Festival); Richard III (West Yorkshire Playhouse); Hedda Gabler, Jumpy, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe (Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh); The Cheviot, The Stag, and The Black, Black Oil, Great Expectations, James and the Giant Peach, The BFG, Victoria (Dundee Rep); Not About Heroes (Eden Court); Still Game: Live (Glasgow Hydro); Forest Boy (Noisemaker/New York Musical Festival/Arcola); Cabaret, West Side Story, Carousel, Tommy (Royal Conservatoire of Scotland). RYAN ALEXANDER DEWAR  |  VIDEO DESIGNER As a media director and producer, Ryan has worked for 13 years with Red Bull, STV, BBC World travel and on two award winning feature films. He directed short films Big Red and The Wrong Guy with Andy Gray and Elaine C Smith and directs on River City. Ryan spent ten years at Perth Theatre in various roles and is now part of the creative team at A Play, A Pie & A Pint. He recently directed the sell out play Neither God Nor Angel by Tim Barrow and A Bottle of Wine & Patsy Cline by Morag Fullarton. In 2017 Ryan will return to direct Grant Stott in his 2016 sell out Fringe hit Tales from Behind the Mic which will tour later in the year.

IZZIE MILNE TURNER  |  ASSISTANT DIRECTOR Izzie is currently on placement at the Citizens Theatre as part of her MFA in Theatre Directing at Birkbeck University. She is a regular collaborator with London-based theatre companies Changing Face and Scram. Directing credits include: Pool (No Water) by Mark Ravenhill and The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs by Mike Daisey. She has also directed cabarets and movement pieces, and composed music for theatre.
