The ultimate Christmas Gift Guide
This time of year it’s all rush, rush, rush – but don’t leave your gift shopping until the last minute. Not when we’ve rounded up all the best presents and you can shop from the comfort of home.
My whole life I’ve adored Christmas time. I love the twinkling lights, the parties, the drop-ins and the festive bonhomie that everyone joyfully sprinkles around. It’s a good time, but with so many extra gatherings to fit in at this time of year, it can be hard to keep up with all the admin.
And the admin is abundant. Even though my children are now almost as old as Santa, he still comes to our place (the kids aren’t unhappy about it). Then there are the feasts to plan, the charities to support, the people to thank and, somewhere languishing on our very-busy list, the gifts to buy.
Oh, the gifts! Every year the fact that it’s Christmas and presents are expected takes me by surprise. Are you the same? When will we learn and
become one of those people who picks something up in June because it's on sale and a friend will love it?
Spoiler alert: still not that person.
But this year I’m super-relaxed because I’m doing all of my shopping online. Not for me the crush of Christmas shopping in-store. Instead, I’m going through the Citro gift guides, selecting the perfect gift for everyone on my list and getting it all sent directly to my door.
Added bonus, I’m a Citro Cardholder, so I’ll get cashback on all of the gifts I choose – a little present to myself for all my hard work making Christmas delightful for everyone.
Enjoy the season!
10 gifts to buy for your husband
(who is easy to love but super hard to buy presents for)
Image: iStock/ronstik
He might be the person you know best in the world, but that still doesn’t make buying your fella a Christmas gift easy… until now.
Words by Carolyn Tate
Husbands can be notoriously difficult to buy for – either they have everything they want already, or they tell you they don’t really need anything at all. But there’s nothing quite like the feeling of nailing the perfect Christmas gift for someone you love.
It needs to be something thoughtful –something that shows how much you appreciate him. But after years of giftgiving, if the ideas may have started to dry up, know that you’re not alone, and help is here!
We’ve pulled together a list of gifts for your husband that will make this Christmas unforgettable. Whether he’s into sports, a cheeky drink, or a well-deserved break, this gift guide is bound to hit the mark this year.
1. Gift them some down-time together with a romantic holiday
Sometimes all you need after a long year is five nights in Aashaya Jasri Resort in Bali, but if you have another destination in mind, it will still be the perfect surprise Christmas gift for you and your husband to get some quality time together. And the genius of this idea is that you get to enjoy it too. Win!

10 gifts to buy for a teenage boy
(who thinks a grunt passes for thank you)
We’re making it easier to tick off your Christmas gift list this year – even for the tricky-to-buy-for. Like enigmatic teenage boys...
Words by Lana Hallowes
Teenage boys are a ‘special’ lot. Insecurity is high, even though they seem too cool for school! For this reason, we sometimes get a little nervous when buying them gifts. They care so much about how they look and what others think, so we worry we’re going to give them the ‘wrong’ gift.
Firstly, just know that a pair of socks is never going to be the ‘right’ gift for a teenage boy. Or anyone, really. Instead, the trick is to stick to the brands he loves and the gadgets his friends will want to borrow.
Here are a few ideas he’ll love, because he is indeed very special – in all the good ways too.

10 gifts to buy for your support crew
(who help you out all year long)
Need to thank your postie, cleaner, physio, hairdresser, dog sitter, accountant… this year?
Here’s our round-up of the best gifts under $50 so you can spread the festive cheer far and wide.
Words by Carolyn Tate
Do you have a postie that always leaves your parcels hidden under cover, so they’re safe until you get home? Maybe your hairdresser just ‘gets’ you, even when you wave your hand around vaguely and say something like, “oh, I don’t know, just
make me fabulous.” Or perhaps your dog sitter always brings Fluffy’s favourite treats without being reminded.
We are surrounded by angels on earth every day who make our lives easier, and saying thank you at Christmas time with a small token feels like the least we can do.
But of course, we don’t want to send ourselves broke in the process.
So what can you buy that says “You’re wonderful” without also saying “Oh-oh, I’ll have to sell the car come January”?
Here are our top 10 answers to that age-old question.
