Connecting these youth with caring Christian mentors to build “life-on-life” relationships, GRIP provides programs and recreation to develop young people spiritually, mentally, and physically. Many of our teens are from neighborhoods where very few have a father figure in their lives and far too many end up in jail, addicted to drugs, or even dead before they turn 25. Since its founding in 2004, GRIP has introduced a father-figure and the hope of Jesus Christ into the lives of hundreds of at-risk teens who desperately need someone to love them and walk life alongside them. We will be gathering before or after the SLAM events for fellowhip, debrief and hang out time. Participants should also check in on students outside of SLAM meetings once per week.

Our discussion revolves around the core themes found within its chapters. We normally hang out for about an hour, and then spend the rest of the time studying the word, encouraging and praying for each other. We have a potluck style dinner with the main dish provided, and while folks usually bring a side dish to pass along, not having a side dish shouldn’t stop you from coming. There’s normally plenty to go around. The group collectively reads the assigned passage at our meetings before discussion starts. Co-Ed Bible Study True Spirituality - Becoming a Romans 12 Christian: Christians today live in a world that is activity-heavy and relationship-light. The result is spiritual emptiness. We struggle to know what God wants FROM us and FOR us …. and we’re unsure what a real relationship with God really looks like. This was never God’s idea! HIS idea of faith isn’t about rules or religion - it’s about relationship. In Romans 12, God gives us a clear picture of what Christians should look like at the root level. If you’re ready to move beyond the motions of religion and experience a real relationship with God, your journey begins here. This group is open for all age groups, single or married, men or women. Fridays evenings, Evanston Konrad Pienaar konradpienaar@gmail.com (847) 736-9650
