How He Loves Me

The Story of Jesus’ Love for Me

Once upon a time, in a special place called Judea, there was a man named Jesus.

He was a really nice teacher who loved everyone, no matter who they were or where they came from. People thought He was amazing because He was the Son of God who came to save the world and make it better.

One day, Jesus went to a big city called Jerusalem to celebrate a holiday called Passover with His friends.

When He got there, lots of people wanted to meet Him. They followed Him all over the city because He was so kind and wise and the way He talked was so different than anything that they heard before. They even waved palm branches and cheered for Him.

But not everyone liked Jesus. Some leaders in the city were jealous of Him, and they wanted to stop Him. So, they made a plan to get Him in trouble and hurt Him. They even wanted to kill Jesus.

On the night before they took Jesus away, He had a special dinner with His friends. He shared bread and some juice with them, and He said these were things to show His love to all people.

After dinner, Jesus went to a garden to pray. There, one of His friends did something not very nice and told the leaders where He was.

The leaders arrested Jesus and said He did something wrong. They decided that they were going to kill Him, and they put Him on a big wooden cross.

Even when He was hurting, Jesus didn’t get mad. He forgave the people who were being mean to Him and asked God to forgive them too. When He passed away, some amazing things happened, like the sky getting dark, the ground shaking, and a huge heavy curtain in the temple tearing in two.

Three days later, on a super special day called Easter Sunday, something even more amazing happened! Jesus came back to life! He showed himself to His friends to tell them that love and forgiveness are really, really strong and can make even the darkest times better.

After that, people everywhere heard about Jesus and how He wanted us to experience His love and forgiveness. Easter became a time to remember this story and be filled with hope because each of us can have a new beginning with Jesus!
