Marketing Y ou may be used to seeing the Marketing team running around College centres pushing around a trolley, setting up events, managing Team the summer campaign or creating engaging social media content - but we realised we never formally introduced ourselves!

Meet the City of Bristol College Marketing Team:

Becky Wilkins

Head of Marketing and Communications

Briefly what does your job include: Leading the College’s Marketing and Communication Plan (and a great Marketing Team) to promote the College and communicate key messages to ensure we recruit students, learners and employers and retain existing ones. This involves planning a broad range of activities including advertising, events, digital campaign and more. So basically, any activity which attracts, informs, converts and enrols to the College. When did you start at the College: January 2021. Interesting fact about yourself: I am a keen marathon runner and love to volunteer at running events.

Matthew Grigg

Senior Graphic Designer/Team Leader

Briefly what does your job include: I’m involved with most outward facing activity with a visual component or digital journey. This includes designing prospectuses, website content, advertising and integrated campaign activity. As well as working closely with other departments to deliver user-centred design projects. TLDR - I colour in.

When did you start at the College: November 2019. Interesting fact about yourself: I once woke up Chris Martin from Coldplay while making toast in an unfamiliar kitchenette at two in the morning.

Copywriter and Web Editor

Briefly what does your job include: I write and proof copy for internal and external marketing activity, including our prospectuses. I also oversee adding and editing content on our website. When did you start at the College: May 2021. Interesting fact about yourself: I love Marvel and (nearly) always go to see the films on release day.

Daniel Chilcott

Marketing Apprentice

Briefly what does your job include: Assisting our Senior Designer and supporting the Marketing Team with creative assets used inside and outside of the College. When did you start at the College: August 2021. Interesting fact about yourself: I used to play drums in a band.

Erin Hewitt

Events Officer

Briefly what does your job include:

Organising internal and external events for the College, including open days and high profile events like HE Graduation.

August 2021.

Interesting fact about yourself:

I did my Masters in Museums and Heritage – I love all things history!

Lauren Ryan

Schools Liaison Officer

Briefly what does your job include: Liaising with schools to build on the College’s reputation in the community. Conduct school visits speaking with school leavers about their post-16 options and next steps, as well as offering the school a wide range of support. When did you start at the College: July 2021. Interesting fact about yourself: I’m fluent in Welsh and went to a Welsh primary school where we only started to have English lessons in Year 3.

Ellie Young

Communications Officer (PR and Digital)

Briefly what does your job include: I handle the College’s social media platforms, deal with press enquiries, gather and share case studies and cover events and news from the college, as well as supporting events, school visits and more. When did you start at the College: August 2019. Interesting fact about yourself: I have been skiing since I was five years old and spend more time skiing backwards than forwards!
