Staff

Local councils and their staff are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Council area and for delivering local services and infrastructure. The General Manager is responsible for guiding the preparation of the Community Strategic Plan and ensuring that the supporting Delivery Program and Operational Plan are delivered, regularly reviewed, and reported on. Senior staff provide advice to the General Manager about projects, programs and activities outlined in the Delivery Program and Operational Plan. They also ensure that team and individual work plans support the achievement of both documents. An overview of the City of Canada Bay Council’s organisation structure is provided in Figure 1 below:

The Council provides numerous services as part of its commitment to the community as identified under the Local Government Act. An essential function of the Council is to provide goods, services and facilities, and to carry out activities that meet the current and future needs of the local community. Many of the daily services that the Council provides are essential to the community's continued well-being and safety, from library services and community centres to environmental care and helping to maintain the area’s tree canopy and biodiversity.
