The Rollin’ Recmobile will take to the streets again this fall to bring recreational activities to your neighborhood. While some traditional programs have been altered due to COVID-19, the Rollin’ Recmobile fills the gap by providing neighborhood activities and fun. The van, loaded to the top with recreation equipment and games, brings staff to lead activities at different parks each week. The van also has a WIFI hot spot that you can use during park visits. OLD MACDONALD’S FARM BEVER PARK Old MacDonald’s Farm in Bever Park is operated by Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation. Located on the southeast side of Cedar Rapids, it is a free petting farm that features farm animals and North American waterfowl. This city landmark is over 100 years old.

Due to COVID-19 and damage from the derecho, Old MacDonald’s Farm is closed for the rest of this year.

Noelridge Market The open-air Noelridge Farmers’ Market is located at the Noelridge Greenhouse parking area, corner of Collins Road and Council Street NE. It is held three times per week through October 16. Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. (Except for September 7)

W.I.C. The Noelridge Farmers’ Market is certified by the Iowa State Agriculture Department to accept IFMNP checks from the WIC Program. The WIC Program’s function is to supply supplemental foods rich in nutrients to women, infants and children in need. These checks are used in city farmers’ markets to purchase fruits and vegetables. SWIMMING LESSON INFORMATION Please Note: Lessons for Levels 1, 2, and 3 are now only offered as Parent/Child classes. See page 41 for details. Advanced registration is required. Choose the session, then pick the level and time of the desired class. Register using the corresponding number. WITHDRAWALS, REFUNDS, TRANSFERS Withdrawals and transfers will be honored if they are made by 5:00 p.m. the Wednesday before the first day of class. In all cases a $4 nonrefundable handling fee will be deducted from the refund. Once the Thursday before the first day of class arrives, refunds are not issued unless the program is cancelled by Parks & Recreation.

Cheyenne Off-Leash Dog Park is located on Cedar Bend Lane SW, off Old River Road and K9 Acres is located in Wanatee Park at 5200 Golf Course Road, Marion. Permits are required to use these parks. Splash pads are ready to keep kids cool through September 12, 2020. Water is turned on at 9:00 a.m. each day and turned off at 9:00 p.m. Due to the storm, only the splash pads at Cleveland, Hayes, Hidder, Noelridge, and Twin Pines Parks are currently open. Iowa Department of Natural Resources will release trout into the lake at Prairie Park Fishery at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 13. A valid fishing license and trout stamp are required.
