Cedar Rapids Tourism markets the area as a destination for leisure tourism, as well as conventions, meetings, and sporting events. Their office focuses on being an economic driver for hotels, attractions, restaurants and local businesses.

A large part of Christian’s role is ensuring groups feel welcome in our community by providing them information on our local restaurants and attractions while they’re in town. Born and raised right here in Cedar Rapids, Christian excels in offering visitors insight on how great our community truly is.

Christian graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Agricultural Business and Animal Science. If he wasn’t in class or working in the calf barn at the Iowa State University Dairy & Research Barn, he was volunteering for a cookout with the Agricultural Business Club, planning the Block & Bridle Club horse show, or on the court with the Men’s Volleyball club team. Throughout college, Christian was heavily involved with Equine Management, traveling all over the country interning and working horse shows.

As an equestrian himself, he found to keep this as his hobby. After graduation he worked at Riverside Casino & Golf Resort as a Travel Host, which is where he found his interest in hospitality. In addition to his job at Cedar Rapids Tourism, he is in his second year serving on the Advisory Board with ImpactCR.
