Learn some pioneer tips and tricks to keep your family well fed with this in-depth look at cooking and food preservation before the advent of electricity. OLD MACDONALD’S FARM BEVER PARK Old MacDonald’s Farm in Bever Park is operated by Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation. Located on the southeast side of Cedar Rapids, it is a free petting farm that features farm animals and North American waterfowl. This city landmark is over 100 years old.

SPECIAL POPULATIONS

Due to COVID-19, Special Populations programming, including Special Olympics, was suspended. Special Olympics Iowa will “Return to Play” this spring with limited sports and participants. Strict safety guidelines will be followed. Thank you for your understanding. Special Olympic Safety Guidelines: • Athletes and coaches must sign a waiver.

Spring Special Olympics Sports

• Coaches must complete an online Covid-19 course.

Note: These sports will look different than in past seasons. Groups are limited to 10 or fewer people and the programs must be held outside. BASKETBALL SKILLS BOCCE SOCCER SKILLS

• No equipment will be shared. • Athletes must arrive and depart wearing a mask. Masks are not required during play. • Athletes and coaches who are high risk should wait until the risk is lower before participating.

Youth Lessons IMPORTANT CHANGE! Due to social distancing requirements, Levels 1, 2, and 3 are Parent/Child classes. REGISTRATION GUIDELINES • Payment must be received to register for a program. • The Department reserves the right to cancel or consolidate classes based on registration. A full refund is issued for all cancelled classes. Minimum and maximum class sizes are utilized. • Waiting lists are established when classes are full. Additional classes may be offered if the minimum enrollment is reached and facility space is available. • Fees will not be prorated. • Registration is required prior to the start of class, unless noted. • A youth waiver is required for every participant under age 17. • A $4 nonrefundable handling charge will be deducted from the refund of each class when an enrollee withdraws prior to the first day of class. Once the first day of class arrives, refunds are not issued unless the class or program is cancelled by Parks & Recreation.

I want to register; now what do I do? GO ONLINE - Our improved process is convenient and easy! Log on to www.crrec.org. Click on the Online Registration link. Log on and follow the directions provided. The first time you use the system your user name is your household I.D. number and your password is the primary adult’s last name (up to twelve characters, not case sensitive). Online registration is processed 24 hours a day with credit card payment up to the day prior to the start of the class or session or the registration deadline date.
