Reservations are required two weeks in advance. Fee is $175 per two-hour period and includes pavilion reservation and farm tour. Non-refundable.
One-hour group tours of the farm are available by appointment only for all groups, including school groups and daycares. Located on the southeast side of Cedar Rapids, it is a free petting farm that is open to the public and features farm animals and North American waterfowl. Bender Pool is equipped with a hydraulic chair and sloping steps in addition to traditional pool ladders.
The pool has locker rooms equipped with showers, hair dryers, electrical outlets, and baby changing tables. Bring your own padlock or rent one from the pool. (You will be required to leave your I.D. at the desk when you rent a lock. It will be returned when you return the lock.) Personal locks must be removed daily. Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation is not responsible for locks or for lost or stolen items.
• Children ages 5 and under must be supervised by an adult within arm’s length.
• Youth ages 6-10 must be supervised by an adult or responsible person at least age 14.
• Children’s swimsuits with permanent built-in floats are permitted but not recommended. Noodles and suits with removable floats are not permitted.
• Actual swim attire is required. Fibers from street clothing damage the pool filter. (Sorry, no basketball shorts.)
• Swim diapers are required for children who are not toilet trained. They are available from the pool cashier for $1.

THERAPEUTIC REC YOUTH SWIM LESSONS (8-17 yrs.)
Learn to swim! This class will be taught by a WSI-certified Swim Instructor with extra assistance and lesson adaptation from the Recreation Therapist when needed. This class meets twice a week for four weeks to build skills and confidence in the water. Register by 9/5.

Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation manages 106 parks and trails on over 4000 acres of land. In addition to urban parks of all sizes, there are many acres reserved for park expansion and flood control. Use our online Parks Finder to locate a park and view its amenities at http://bit.ly/crparks.
A permanent display of large tropical plants is housed at Noelridge Greenhouse, 4900 Council Street NE. The greenhouse is open to the public on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Thursday from 7 a.m. to Noon; and for scheduled special events.
TOURS
The Friends of Noelridge offer regular FREE guided tours of the greenhouse, landscaped beds, and butterfly tent for groups of five or more. Tours for specific age groups, adults or children, will last about one hour. To register for a tour, email l.farmer@cedar-rapids.org. Please include number attending, general age, and preferred date. A new 10-court pickleball complex in Jones Park features five courts on both sides of a central shade area with electrical outlets, a drinking fountain, and benches. Each court has a four-foot fence that separates it from the others. An eight-foot fence encloses five courts on each side. Access the courts via Fruitland Boulevard and not the road through Jones Park. Tennis courts at Noelridge, Ellis, and Bever Parks are also lined for pickleball.
The City of Cedar Rapids has three off-leash parks,Cheyenne Off-Leash Dog Park, 1650 Cedar Bend Lane SW; K-9 Acres, 5200 Golf Course Road, Marion; and 12th Avenue Dog Park, 405 12 Avenue SE. An annual permit is required to use these parks.
The permit is valid January 1 - December 31. The 2024 Annual Permit fee is $38. Daily Passes, for those who want to try the park or are in the area for a short time, are $6. Passes may be purchased online at CRREC.org, by phone at 319.286.5566, or in person at the Parks and Recreation office at the City Services Center, 500 15th Avenue SW, or the Northwest Recreation Center, 1340 11th Street NW.
A dog tag is issued to those who purchase an annual permit. The color of the tag changes each year. Dog tags may be picked up at the City Services Center or Northwest Recreation Center. They may also be mailed for $2. Replacement tags cost $5.

A new, lighted skatepark is located in Riverside Park. Concrete obstacles in the park include a quarterpipe, radius wedge, Euro gap, kicker, radius launch, stairs, flat grind rail, raked grind rails, cantilevered manual pad, grind-out ledge, raked panned grind ledge, double raked panned grind ledge, panned grindout ledges, and slappy curb. Skatepark hours are 6 a.m.10 p.m. daily.
Splash pads are ready to keep kids cool, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., through September 3, 2024. They are located at Cedar Valley, Cleveland, Daniels, Greene Square, Hayes, Hidder, Jacolyn, Noelridge, Redmond, Time Check, and Twin Pines Parks.
Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation maintains a variety of hard surface and crushed limestone recreational trails. If you make a complete tour of all the City trails and bikeways, you will travel over 100 miles. u Visit LinnCountyTrails.org for maps.
Iowa Department of Natural Resources will release trout into the lake at Prairie Park Fishery at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 25. A valid fishing license and trout stamp are required.
Rent one of 25 pavilions in the City parks up to one year in advance of the intended use date (between May 4 and September 29, 2024). Sizes range from 7 to 40 tables. Rates vary based on size and location. Pavilions are rented for a single time period of 10 a.m. through 8 p.m.

Reservations are taken year-round in person at the Northwest Recreation Center. A $200 deposit is required to rent the community room and gym. The deposit will be returned after the room is inspected at the end of the event.
