“Seaside Rocks… Seaside’s the Bomb!” -as said by some 2011 campers Seaside Counselor in Training
The Counselor in Training Program (CIT) at Seaside Day Camp allows Seaside alumni and interested youth, ages 13 to 16 years exclusive training and increased responsibilities, such as actively assisting with Seaside activities, supervision, and program development. Fees include special CIT shirts and training, and two weekly field trips. Space is limited to 5 youth per week. Requirements include: special application, letters of recommendation, applicant interview, minimum 2.5 GPA & parental permission and support, and 3-week commitment. The gaming academy is an all-day course for students who love games. During this course students will be immersed into the world of 2D and 3D game design. The gaming academy is a combination of our Video Game Design, Advanced Game Design and 3D Game Design courses. The Gaming Academy

Novel Camp
Make history come alive through the eyes of Laura Ingalls Wilder. This “novel” camp will read On the Banks of Plum Creek and do some of the chores that young pioneers did. We will cross stitch a basic sampler, churn cream into butter, and dip wax candles. Spend some of your summer learning through literature. Orient Express: Asian Art and Music
Take a trip to Asia this summer. This camp will focus on the art and music of East Asia. Campers will learn basic Chinese phrases and calligraphy. They will do fan painting, fish printing and make a kimono out of clay. They will play Japanese and Chinese music on native instruments and learn to ribbon and fan dance. They will read stories, learn the geography, and make and taste foods from the region. Kids Cooking Camp!
Do you love to mess around in the kitchen? Come join other foodies and learn to bake an apple tart, fold wontons, and make tortillas from scratch. HOw To REgister 1. Online Registration (www.EncinitasParksAndRec.com) We recently launched our new registration system. If you have not registered since 2011, you will need to create a new account. See next page for step-by-step instructions. 2. Walk-In: Come by and register in person. We accept payment by credit/Debit, check or money order, payable to the City of Encinitas. The Parks and Recreation office at City Hall is open Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM and is closed on alternating Fridays. The Encinitas Community and Senior Center is open for registration Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM. 3. Mail-In: Mail your completed and signed Activity Registration Form along with a check or money order payable to the City of Encinitas. For classes held at the Encinitas Community and Senior Center, mail to: Encinitas Community and Senior Center, 1140 Oakcrest Park Drive, Encinitas, CA 92024. For other programs and activities, mail to: City of Encinitas Parks and Recreation Department, 505 S. Vulcan Avenue, Encinitas, CA 92024. GENERAL INFORMATION 1.
