From the Director’s Desk‌ Hello Encinitas,
I hope everyone had a great summer. We are excited to announce that the shade structures at Encinitas Community Park, Leo Mullen Sports Park and Sun Vista Park are completed. The shade structures over the playgrounds should help add to the experience for all park visitors. The department is busy working on the Standard Pacific Park Site, Trail 82 along Rancho Santa Fe Road, and Trail 95 along El Camino Del Norte. We look forward to bringing these wonderful new facilities to our residents. The department offers amazing events, classes, programs, concerts, art exhibits and so much more. We have beautiful parks, beaches and trails for you to enjoy as well. This year try a new program or take a hike on a trail. There is so much exploring to be done in Encinitas.

“I have been attending a weekly Awareness Through Movement group class for nearly 2 years and still every one is different. The variety and increased flexibility achieved within an hour session is always surprising. This exploration of movement and release of tension with no forced stretching or pain is delightfully simple and effective. I am so pleased to have found Feldenkrais with this inspirational teacher and wholeheartedly recommend everyone to try it!" - Beverly Smith

Enjoy Saturday evenings of visual art on October 5 and November 23, from 6 - 9pm as Encinitas civic and local art galleries swing open their doors for Art Night Encinitas. The new event celebrates the city’s diverse visual art scene at participating locations and is free to the public. Enjoy live music and refreshments at most locations. “Art Night Encinitas was conceived by the Commission for the Arts as a way to highlight the civic art galleries and our thriving visual art scene,” said Commission for the Arts Chair Collette Stefanko. In 2019, 47 exhibits by local artists will be presented in the City's three civic art galleries along with a myriad of local artists at participating art galleries. The art open houses also benefit artists through the sale of their art and provide the public opportunities to interact with artists and learn about the creative process. Catch a ride on one of the shuttle buses which will transport the public to and from all locations. Please park at Encinitas City Hall, the Encinitas Community Center or the Encinitas Library to easily access the shuttle. Special thanks to Art Night Encinitas sponsors for their generous support: Betty Scalice Foundation, NAPIZZA, Encinitas Friends of the Arts, and San Diego County Library.
