Pickleball Open Gym (Ages 18+)
Easily adapted for all ages and skill levels, this easy-tolearn game combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. Bud Kivett Memorial City Golf Championship (Ages 16+)
Celebrating its 46th anniversary this year, this is a 36-hole, stroke play event open to the first 216 amateur golfers who enter. Play will take place over the beautiful Oak Hollow and Blair Park Golf Courses. Championship Flight winner will receive a beautiful trophy. Pro Shop gift certificates will be awarded to the top finishers in each flight. Oak Hollow Open (Ages 16+)
Celebrating its 34th year, entries in this tournament are open to the first 100 teams of amateur golfers ages 16 and older. Seniors ages 55 and older will play from the white tees. This tournament also features a Par 3 Challenge with the closest to the pin on all par threes both days. The entry does not include green fee or cart fee. Application and entry fee must arrive by noon on May 27. Over $12,500 in prizes and gift certificates will be awarded! Fall Oak Hollow Open: Ryder Cup Edition (Ages 16+)
Celebrating its 11th year, this is a two-person captain's choice, 36-hole event that will be flighted after the first round. Open to the first 60 teams, the "Shotgun Start" for both days gives golfers a chance to get a round in before watching football games in the afternoon! Seniors ages 55 and older will play from the white tees. This event will also include a Par 3 Challenge both days. Please note that the entry fee will go towards gift certificates and prizes and does not include green fee or cart fee. Over $6,000 in prizes and gift certificates will be awarded! Body Boost (Ages 18+)
Boost your body! Participation in this strength and cardio workout, taught by a certified personal trainer, will boost your strength and your energy. Participants use free weights and a yoga mat. Adult Open Gym (Ages 18+)
Adult Open Gym is a time for adults to play pickup basketball in a casual setting. Friendly competition is welcomed. Participants may check out a basketball or bring their own.

ACA Level 2 Stand-Up Paddleboard Class (Ages 18+)
Learn and practice stand-up paddleboarding techniques to get moving on the water like a pro! Our three-day level 2 paddleboard course covers SUP basics, fundamentals, equipment, safety and paddle techniques. Community gardens provide opportunities for people from all backgrounds to work side by side towards improving food security, increasing fruit and vegetable intake and leading healthier lives. Community Garden @ Oakview (Ages 18+)
Community gardens provide the opportunity to engage in an active project together, produce healthy food and lead healthier lives. During this time, a limited number of new plots will be available for those not already renting a current plot in the existing garden. New plots will be reserved only for new plot holders for the entire year. Any remaining plots not renewed or reserved will be open to the public beginning March 2. Full Moon Night Walk (Ages 18+)
As the full moon rises through the trees, we will walk on the PEC trails to explore the nocturnal activities of deer, beaver, owls and more. By the time we return to the building, the moon will be above the tree line and in perfect position for viewing through our telescope. We will share moon legends and lore and view other night sky objects as we round out the evening. Pre-registration is required. If it's cloudy, we will still proceed with the night walk. Outer Banks Kayak Ecotour (Ages 18+)
The North Carolina barrier islands are a fascinating and important network of maritime forests, creeks, saltwater marshes, sounds and open ocean. These resources support a vast array of wildlife and are perfect for exploring by kayak. This trip will explore Currituck Sound, Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge and maritime forests. Provided conditions are suitable, an optional open ocean paddle will also be offered. Camping, all paddling equipment, meals and guides are provided. Get on board for a wild experience! Wildflowers, Ferns and Watercolors (Ages 18+)
Join a PEC staff naturalist for an art experience focused on the natural history of spring wildflowers and ferns and beginner watercolor painting techniques. On Friday, we will be in the classroom for an introduction to basic watercolor painting techniques. We will spend Saturday morning on the trails, identifying and exploring the natural history of native wildflowers and ferns. After lunch, we will practice rendering wildflowers and ferns for bookmarks, notecards and 5" x 7" frames. Participants will need to bring a bag lunch for Saturday and a water bottle. Annual Wildflower Sale (Ages 18+)
Beautify your home garden, provide much-needed nectar to pollinators and support PEC's environmental education efforts when you participate in our annual wildflower sale! Over two dozen species of wildflowers have been sowed, and many have germinated in our PEC greenhouse. Purple Coneflower, Milkweed and Black-eyed Susan are just a few of the many seedlings that will be available for $0.75 each. Women's Intro to Kayaking and Saety on the Water (Ages 18+)
Join us for a women’s introductory course on kayaking and water safety! This two-hour class, taught by an ACAcertified female instructor, will cover basic water safety and kayaking techniques. Lessons include choosing safety gear, the dangers of cold water, proper paddling and boat handling. Instruction will be conducted both on land and on the water in an encouraging environment. Dog Obedience Class (Ages 18+)
Qualified instructor will teach owners and dogs basic commands and social skills. Dogs must be a least eight weeks old. High Point City Lake Park Bass Tournament (Ages 18+)
It's a lovely time of year to be out on the water, and the lake will be stocked! This tournament will be a trolling motor tournament with a five-fish limit and 100 percent payout. Basic Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) (Ages 18+)
This introductory program is designed to give you a taste of what stand-up paddleboarding is all about! Lessons on technique, safety and equipment give participants sufficient knowledge and experience to register for some of our other SUP offerings, such as Glowga. Stand-Up Paddleboard Glowga (Glow Yoga) (Ages 18+)
Enjoy a fun and challenging yoga experience on the waters of beautiful Oak Hollow Lake at night! We will begin with a short paddle on the boards, followed by an all-level vinyasa flow yoga program led by an experienced instructor. Focus is on balance, core muscle strength, body toning and increased flexibility. Participants must have paddleboard experience or have taken our SUP Basics class prior to attending this class. Women are Made (WAM) (Ages 20+)
Women build friendships and empower themselves (and each other) by gathering to share ideas, experiences, hope and support.
