All-Stars Cheer Team

High Point Parks & Recreation’s All-Stars cheer team competed in the Maximum Cheer and Dance “Carolina Mashup” competition in Raleigh in January, and we are thrilled to congratulate them on taking first place in the Junior 1 division! The ages of the All-Star Team members range from nine – 15, and the team currently includes 18 talented athletes.

Interested in getting involved with our youth cheerleading programs? Rec-tivity Cheer Camp for 7 – 12-year-olds returns in June, and Youth Football cheerleading starts in August. The All-Star program offers tryouts every September. Lots of opportunities to develop your skills and join the fun! Volunteer coaches are needed, too. The First ASPIRE Expo

High Point Parks & Recreation ASPIRE (Adaptive Sports, Programs & Inclusive Recreation) held its firstever ASPIRE Expo in March. This event introduced the community to featured programming, adaptive equipment, program feedback stations and various games and activities. Introducing SmartRec

High Point Parks & Recreation is excited to announce a new registration and reservation software to better serve you! SmartRec by Amilia will provide a customer-friendly online experience for you to explore, discover and register for your favorite programs or reserve your outdoor spaces. As we make our transition to this new application, more information will follow on how you can create your account and learn just how easy it is to register for your activities online. Summer Day Camps (Rising grades 1 - 6)

Summer camp is the perfect place to make new friends, try new things and just have lots of fun! Rising first - sixth graders will enjoy favorite camp activities, including arts & crafts, field trips, team sports and much more. Be prepared for plenty of laughs, smiles and adventures! Campers will receive a t-shirt.

Trailblazers Camp (Rising grades 7 - 9)

Summer camp for older campers offers opportunities to develop leadership skills and a passion for recreation. Ours is filled with arts & crafts, field trips, team sports and much more. Be prepared to have tons of fun with plenty of laughs, smiles and adventures! Campers will receive a t-shirt. Summer Tennis Camps (Ages 6 - 16)

Our five-day camps include all the basic skills of tennis, enabling each player to move to the next level. Emphasis on point play will be stressed, as well as proper technique and court movement. Players will learn how to rally and play points against one another through drills, fun games, endurance and footwork development and mini-matches. Oak Hollow Tennis Center Mondays - Fridays, June 6 - August 12, 9 a.m. - noon $150 per week, $40 drop-in fee

Discovery Sports Camp (Ages 6 - 14)

Our Discovery Summer Sports camp is an opportunity for athletes to learn new skills and sharpen their abilities over the summer. Staff and camp counselors with vast sports experience will facilitate this exciting program! $30 deposit required per session when registering; weekly pay plan available as needed. Ages 6 - 10: Mondays - Fridays, 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Session 2, July 11 - 29

Ages 11 - 14: Mondays - Fridays, 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. $150 per child

PGA Junior Half-Day Camps (7 - 13)

Our action-packed, half-day camps include hands-on instruction led by certified PGA professionals. The signature PGA camp curriculum focuses on developing golf skills (full swing, short game, rules and etiquette) while keeping the experience fun and engaging with games and activities. Oak Hollow Golf Course Mondays - Fridays, June 20 - August 12, 9 a.m. - noon $275 per week, $15 non-refundable annual registration fee

PGA Junior Full Day Camps (Ages 9 - 16)

These camps provide the opportunity for intermediate to advanced junior golfers to continue improving their skills and developing better course management expertise. Participants are organized into smaller groups based on ability level and age. After lunch, campers go to the course for supervised play that emphasizes course management, shot selection and rules.
