Back to School Esports Tournament (Ages 12+)
Are you ready for some football? Join High Point Parks & Recreation's first Madden NFL Esports Tournament! Championship ring and other prizes will be awarded to the winners and second-place finishers. Program features youth (ages 12-17) and adults (ages 18+) divisions. Quarterly Big Fish Tournament (Ages 2+)
Try and catch the biggest fish in the lake! We'll keep a display board keeping track of the weights in the marina; prizes are awarded each quarter for the biggest catfish, crappie and bass. Grand prizes will be awarded at the end of the year! Registration is required before catching the fish. Participants can register any time of the year and only need to register once. Fall Leaf Tours
Enjoy a long-standing High Point tradition on this annual guided tour, which takes park visitors around High Point City Lake on our excursion boat. During the 45-minute tour, participants learn about the seasonal changes and wildlife in and around the lake from Piedmont Environmental Center staff Naturalist Dick Thomas. Dick's entertaining and informative commentary, combined with amazing photographic opportunities, make this offering a seasonal favorite. Reservations will be accepted beginning Monday, September 27. Yoga
Yoga helps with breathing practice, physical exercise and posture, as well as meditation to integrate your mind. When participating, stretching, bending and balancing help to align the head, neck and spine. It can also stimulate the circulatory system and keep muscles and joints strong and flexible. Virtual Morning Exercise Drills
Designed for active senior adults who exercise regularly, this virtual program provides a brief, intense workout incorporating cardio and strength training. Please consult your doctor before registering. Limited space is available. Mondays, now through July 19, 8:30 - 9 a.m. Free
AquaFit
Let's make a splash! AquaFit is a moderate-intensity water aerobics class where participants can receive the benefits of a land-based aerobics class without the impact. Our 45-minute classes combine stretching, cardio and strengthbuilding exercises. Participants should wear a swimsuit and bring their own water bottle and towel. Pickleball for Beginners
Learn a new sport or sharpen your skills! Pickleball is a fun game that is easy for beginners to learn but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players. Knitting & Crochet
Knitting and crochet help reduce stress and, for some, may also help maintain or improve fine motor skills. We invite those "ages 50 and better" to come together to socialize with others and share various stitches and patterns. Participants are asked to bring their own supplies and teach themselves yarn-crafting techniques in our relaxed setting. Roy B. Creative Coloring and Scrapbooking
Get creative among friends and work at your own pace in a relaxing setting as you color various themed art pages or develop a scrapbook of your choosing. Chair Yoga
Our class consists of centering, warm-up, a work phase incorporating seated and standing positions for strength and balance, stretching and a brief relaxation/meditation period to conclude. Participants will improve flexibility and strength and focus on improving balance in standing poses. Participants should be able to maintain both seated and standing positions with the assistance of a chair. Computer Lab
The Senior Center Computer Lab provides access to desktop computers or a space to utilize personal devices. Free WIFI is available; visits are limited to 90 minutes maximum, please. Stability Training
This class is designed to help you become stronger and improve balance.
