General comments:
One presentation in particular stuck out to me on the value of having vision, direction, and dedication in the work that I do as a transportation and safety professional. This presenter lost his friend many years ago on an I-70 crossover crash, before guard-cable was widely used, which prompted him to switch his major to engineering and dedicate his life to transportation safety. He researched possible solutions and determined that guard-cable could have saved his friends life. He dedicated himself and was determined to implement guard-cable statewide in Missouri to reduce the number of fatalities on the roadways. This solution has saved countless lives. With the technology available today there are no end to possible solutions for saving more lives.
