LAKEWOOD’S COMMUNITY RESOURCES DEPARTMENT IS UPDATING ITS MASTER PLAN IN 2017! We need your participation in Imagine Lakewood! to help set the vision and plan for how the department can support community access to parks and play over the next five to 10 years.
The themes that have emerged through the Imagine Lakewood! survey and public open houses include the topics below, and we want to hear more about these online at Lakewood.org/Imagine and at our August public meetings: • Improving existing facilities. • Increasing enjoyment of parks by reducing dogs off leash, dog waste and other issues. • Identifying and addressing barriers to participation and improving equity through access to programs and facilities. • Inspiring enjoyment of arts, parks and recreation through effective outreach and communication. • Providing new facilities and programs. THE NEXT ROUND OF PUBLIC MEETINGS WILL BE IN AUGUST: • 2 p.m., Tuesday, Aug.1, Clements Community Center, 1580 Yarrow St. • 7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 1, Bear Valley Church, 10001 W. Jewell Ave. • 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 3, Lakewood Link Recreation Center, 1295 S. Reed St. At these meetings, residents will see how their comments and thoughts have shaped the future of arts, parks and recreation in Lakewood as an early draft of the Imagine Lakewood! Master Plan will be presented, and residents will be given the opportunity to provide feedback on the draft. For more information, contact Allison Scheck at 303.987.7872 or AllSch@Lakewood.org. To sign up for Imagine Lakewood! updates and give feedback online, visit Lakewood.org/Imagine.
