Summer Reading Program

May 24-July 31

Join the summer reading adventure at Lewisville Public Library as we read together, play together, and create together! Lewisville’s Summer Reading Program for all ages (All Together Now) runs from May 24 through July 31. Participants who complete the summer reading challenge will earn prizes. Story Stroll

Lewisville Public Library maintains a literacy trail at both Central Park and East Hill Park in Lewisville. For more information about Story Stroll and storytimes at these parks, visit library.cityoflewisville.com/storystroll

Weekly Storytime Classes

Monday, June 5-Saturday, July 29

Ages 0-6

Join us as we reinforce pre-reading skills through age-appropriate early literacy classes that include stories, rhymes, songs, and fingerplays! Classes are held in the Bennett Program Room unless otherwise noted. Visit the Library’s website or stop by for a full schedule of classes and class guidelines.

Monday Night Live

For children ages 6-12 years old and their families. (Performers include: Wildlife on the Move, Brett Roberts, The Creature Teacher, and many others.) Program held in Bennett Children’s Wing of library.

Little Seed Library

Visitors can pick up free vegetable, herb, and wildflower seed packets at the library’s Little Seed Library. Citizens are also encouraged to harvest and donate seeds to share with the community. The Little Seed Library is provided by Lewisville Public Library and Keep Lewisville Beautiful.”

NewsBank America’s News

America’s News, a digital newspaper collection, is now available for Lewisville library cardholders. America’s News provides online access to current and archived issues of 4,000+ full-text newspapers, including the Lewisville Leader, Denton Record Chronicle, and Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Easily search and browse current and archived news articles, editorials, obituaries, and more.

The Hive Online Training

The Hive, the Library’s makerspace, features specialized equipment and software to help inspire learning, creativity, and creation. Training is required before a patron may use some of the equipment. The Hive staff have created online training modules to help patrons new to The Hive learn the equipment, and to help those who haven’t visited in a while to refresh their knowledge.

Book Clubs for Adults

The Library offers a variety of book clubs for adult readers of popular fiction and nonfiction, mystery and suspense, science fiction and fantasy. There’s a book club for all kinds of readers.

Free GED Prep Classes

Registration Required

Free High School Equivalency (aka GED) classes for adults are designed to prepare eligible adults who lack a high school diploma to take the GED exam. These classes are provided by North Texas Adult Education & Literacy, a department of Denton ISD, and funded by the Texas Workforce Commission. To register, call Denton ISD at 940.369.0400.
