Lunar New Year

2025 is the year snake, the symbol of wise, enigmatic, and caring people. Join us at Thrive as we ring in the Lunar New Year in style. Wear red on this auspicious day and learn about the beauty behind this holiday during an afternoon of crafts, food, and celebration.

Color Fun Run 2K & 5K

Put on your running shoes and join us for the most colorful run you’ve ever experienced! Enjoy a beautiful lap run through Memorial Park as you get doused with water and color. This trail is easy for all runners so feel free to jog, run, or walk the course and enjoy the fun. Afterwards, the party continues with giveaways from local vendors, treats, and music in the park.

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny & Egg Hunt

What better way to enjoy the Easter season than with pancakes and the Easter Bunny himself? Join us at Thrive this April for your family’s next favorite spring tradition. We’ll have food, photo ops, and an egg hunt, including a sensory hunt in our Frog Fruit room in Thrive. Breakfast starts at 9AM with the egg hunts starting at 10:30AM. Each age group will have a separate hunting time, including a hunting time for siblings.

Daddy Daughter Dance: Era’s Dance

Dads, get your daughters ready for an evening of dancing through the decades. We’re having our very own Era’s Celebration and highlighting your favorite themes –whether it’s a 60’s tie dye or classic 80’s neon, be sure to dress up and get ready party the night away. We’ll have carriage rides, friendship bracelet stations, photobooths, and more at this year’s dance. Can’t make it Friday night? No worries – this year’s dance is a two-day affair so you can join us on Saturday instead. This event is created specifically for fathers and daughters under the age of 18. Ticket includes admission for 1 father and 1 daughter, additional daughters can attend at $5 per child for regular attendance and $10 for carriage ride & dance

Did you know the CDC actually recommends you prepare for emergencies – even the zombie apocalypse? Join us this May for a unique approach to emergency preparedness and education as you navigate our “zombie” infested obstacle course and put your survival skills to the test! Receive information from our friends in public safety on how to be prepared as well as small items for your very own go-bag.

Work out in the lazy river with a variety of movements going with and against the current. This class offers a cardio challenge, tones larger muscle groups and increases stamina.

Deep Water Aqua Robics

Work out your muscles without impacting your joints, float belts worn during class with help with posture and buoyancy. This class will help improve flexibility, strength and muscular endurance.

Aqua Yoga

The buoyancy of the water allows for less stress on the joints, increased range of motion while the resistance of the water increases strength. Yoga poses in the water help increase balance, strength and flexibility. Practitioners will gain the same physical, mental and emotional benefits as land yoga.

Home School Natural Science Classes

This Homeschool semester explores prairie ecosystems across all grade levels, with K-2 students learning about the animals, insects, plants, and reptiles, while older students (3rd-8th) dive deeper into prairie ecology, soils, and hands-on projects to restore and explore these environments.

Toddler Nature Time (TNT)

Lewisville Public Library maintains a literacy trail at both Central Park and East Hill Neighborhood Park. Each month there’s a new children’s book to read as you stroll along the trail. Lewisville residents ages 18 and up who do not already have a library card may visit library.cityoflewisville.com/librarycard to register online for a full privilege card. You’ll need your government issued ID and email address to register. If you are a parent who wants a card for their child (ages 5-17), please visit the Library in-person to get a card. Online card renewal for Denton County residents is coming soon! Until then, visit the Library in-person to renew your card.

The Hive Online Training

The Hive, the Library’s makerspace, features specialized equipment and software to help inspire learning, creativity, and creation. Training is required before a patron may use some of the equipment. The Hive staff have created online training modules to help patrons new to The Hive learn the equipment, and to help those who haven’t visited in a while to refresh their knowledge.

Free GED Prep Classes

Free High School Equivalency (aka GED) classes for adults are designed to prepare eligible adults who lack a high school diploma to take the GED exam. These classes are provided by North Texas Adult Education & Literacy, a department of Denton ISD, and funded by the Texas Workforce Commission. Registration is required.
