Explore the wonderful world of animals through Sunset Zoo’s weekly camp adventures - every week is a new theme! Each morning, campers enjoy live animal presentations and science-oriented lessons. In the afternoon, activities include games and themed videos. Visits to zoo exhibits, animal encounters, and behind-the-scenes explorations round out each week. Camps are taught by Zoo staff trained in child development. Students can attend half-day or full-day each week. Snacks provided. Full-day registrants must bring a sack lunch. ANIMAL CRACKERS CAMP High-energy activities interspersed with downtime every day. Live animal interactions, Zoo tours, crafts, games, and story times, all part of the mix!

SUMMER SAFARI CAMP Campers will connect with the natural world through activities including crafts, stories, games, live animal interactions, projects, Zoo tours, and nature hikes.

NATURE NAVIGATORS CAMP Campers will explore their surroundings through nature hikes, Zoo tours, science-based projects, group games, live animal encounters, and field trips.

SUNSET ZOO PAYMENT PLAN & REFUND POLICY:

Payment Plan. At time of enrollment, a minimum of 50% of each sessions fee is due to reserve a child’s spot; $20 per session of the registration fee is a non-refundable deposit. Sessions must be paid in full within five working days prior to the first day of each camp session or youth will not be allowed to participate - no exceptions. No refunds or prorating for partially-used sessions.

Refund Policy. A non-refundable $20 deposit will be held for each enrolled camp session. A full refund is provided (less the deposit) if registration is canceled prior to one week of start date. Partial refund is given (less the deposit) if canceled between one week and 48 hours prior to start date. No refund given if canceled within 48 hours.

Many programs will focus on STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics - as they apply to the Flint Hills. Registration includes snacks, supplies for activities, and access to exhibits. LITTLE APPLE DAY CAMP Kids who have completed kindergarten through 7th grade as of May 2020 will enjoy a summer full of arts, crafts, games, swimming, special events and excursions at this KDHE-licensed day camp. REFUND POLICY FOR CLASSES REQUIRING REGISTRATION: Please note the refund policy that is specific to EACH PROGRAM at the time of registration. Preregistration is required, class size is limited, and enrollment is on a first-come, first- served basis. A full refund is granted if cancellation is received one week (seven days) prior to class; partial refund with notification of at least 48 hours before, and no refund if less than 48 hours in advance. Youth may be transferred to different session dates in the event a class is canceled; contact staff to help with this.

ZOOFARI TAILS STORYTIME FREE Slither into reading with the Sunset Zoo and the Manhattan Public Library every fourth Friday of the month. Each month features a different animal story and unique animal artifacts. Some story times feature live animals or a craft! This is a free program and preregistration is not required.
