Manhattan Parks & Recreation is in the process of converting 18-acres of parkland to native Kansas prairie. These areas, called Pollinator Pockets, are left to flourish and take root, benefiting local pollinators such as bees, butterflies, birds, and bats. Park staff work together with Sunset Zoo and Flint Hills Discovery Center in an effort to promote the importance of pollinators within our community. Learn more about the project, discover ways to help pollinators at home, and find volunteer opportunities online at www.mhkprd.com/pollinatorpockets.
