Important Info! First-Come, First-Paid: Space is limited for most of the programs we offer, and registration is accepted on a first-come, first-paid basis. In some instances, a waiting list may be available. MPRD Scholarship Policy: Some of our programs qualify for scholarships. You must show proof of participation in the USD Free/Reduced Lunch program or qualification under Federal Income Availability Guidelines. Camp Refund Policy: Please see page 12 for specific details. Refund Policy for Activities Requiring Registration: Registrants will receive a full refund if we cancel the program, or we may be able to transfer you to another class. A full refund is granted if request to withdraw is received 1 week (7 days) before the class or event start date. A partial refund is issued when requested between 1 week and at least 48 hours before the start date. No refunds will be granted if the request is less than 48 hours in advance or if the participant fails to show. Participant withdrawals must be received during business hours. For specific policies, visit each program’s website. Please note: Some programs have age restrictions and birth dates are required for each participant. YOUTH ADVENTURE CAMPS

FLINT HILLS DISCOVERY CENTER & SUNSET ZOO ADVENTURE CAMPS School-aged youth (K-6) can join us for a unique day camp offered when USD 383 is not in session. Campers will learn about the plants and animals from their own backyard to around the world while traveling back in time to explore the history, geology, and fossils that make their home unique. Many programs focus on STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics - as they apply to the Flint Hills. Two grade-specific camps are offered in full and half-day sessions. Class size is limited and enrollment will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Full-day registrants must bring a sack lunch; snacks are provided. Many of our offerings require registration at least one week prior to a class.

REFUND POLICY FOR CLASSES REQUIRING REGISTRATION: Please note the refund policy that is specific to EACH PROGRAM at the time of registration. Preregistration is required, class size is limited, and enrollment is on a first-come, first- served basis. A full refund is granted if cancellation is received one week (seven days) prior to class; partial refund with notification of at least 48 hours before, and no refund if less than 48 hours in advance. Youth may be transferred between class sessions; contact staff to help with this. PERMISSION FORMS: Many of our programs, particularly for youth, require a set of current permission forms to be on file with the facility’s main office. This typically includes emergency contact information, medical history, photo release, etc. After registering for a class, you will be contacted by the facility and they will provide you with any relevant permission form packets. Please complete the forms and return to the office as soon as possible to speed up the check-in process on the first day of class.

18+ Mandatory Training: October 6th & 20th, 1:00-5:00pm For volunteers, 18 and older, who care about Sunset Zoo and want to help their community! Promote the zoo with your passion, help with special events, and engage in lifelong learning. Trainings are offered twice annually, in the fall and winter; attendance at both classes is mandatory.
