The City of North Little Rock recently installed four Level Two vehicle charging stations at the Rock Region Trolley Bar located at 210 Bishop Lindsey Avenue in the downtown Argenta District. These charging stations are currently free to residents and visitors in our city. A Level Two Charging Station can charge an electric vehicle in 8 hours or less using 240-volt output. The cost of these stations (including installation) was $28,291.00. The city was approved for a rebate by the Arkansas Department Energy Environment in the amount of $25,462.64, making the cost to the city $2,828.16. The Level Two Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) Reimbursement Rebate Program provides rebates for the installation of Level Two electric vehicle charging stations and is open to government, private, and non-profit entities across the state on a “firstcome, first-serve” basis. Rebates are paid by the State Environmental Mitigation Trust, funded by the Volkswagen Settlement, which began with $215,563.00 in 2022.
