Transportation is not provided, participants are encouraged to carpool or utilize public transportation when available. Pre-registration is required. Enjoy a beautiful summer day in Coronado. Join us for a guided stroll through this famous playground of Presidents and Princes. Beginning at one of the island’s most stately mansions, we pass the site of old Tent City, the magnificent Hotel del Coronado, and the castles and cottages that line one of the nation’s most beautiful beaches. We will recount the stories of moguls and movie stars, Navy pilots and SEALs, and fill you with over one hundred years of remarkable history. After the tour, you may lunch at one of the many eateries or bring your own lunch. We will have time to explore the many shops around downtown Coronado. Intergenerational Pickle Ball & Picnic

Our intergenerational activity this summer will be pickle ball with our pre-teen X-Factor campers and a BBQ lunch. Come on out and play the game that is gaining popularity around the country with seniors and people of all ages alike. Our veteran pickle ballers can provide instruction to our pre-teen campers to help them enjoy their first experience with the game. Mandatory Training Week: This week prepares Jr Camp Leaders for their role with the summer day camp program. Participants must successfully complete the mandatory training week in order to be eligible to participate in the remaining day camp weeks. The mandatory training week is divided into two tracks: Varsity for returning Jr Camp Leaders and Rookie for new Jr Camp Leaders.

Varsity level Jr Camp Leaders will mentor Rookie Jr Camp Leaders. The Rookie track is designed for potential Jr Camp Leaders who have never participated in the Jr Camp Leader program.

Registration for weeks 2 - 8 is open immediately (program needs and space restrictions apply). Participants who register for weeks 2 - 8 but do not successfully complete the training week will be credited or transferred to X-Factor Camp (age restrictions apply).

Music Camps Staump Music Camps

6 - 15 Years Staump Summer Camps are the perfect way to try out a new instrument. These camps are introductory courses designed for students with little or no experience. Students will focus on fun, popular styles of music while learning proper technique and note reading that will stay with them for a life time. 7 - 17 Years During two weeks of intense creativity, students will write and record an original song, as well as gain a basic understanding of the legal and business sides of songwriting. They will experience the recording process, get song feedback from Grammy award winning music producer Joe Solo, and have their music recorded by Grammy Award winning sound engineer Alan Sanderson. All songs will be recorded and performed by the student and our live band of Staump Production musicians. Each student will be given a block of recording time at Pacific Beat Recording for their song. Students will rehearse their original music with the band in preparation for a live performance at the annual Staump Summer Jam held at the iconic Lestat's West music venue in San Diego. Students will be given an online worldwide distribution deal to sell their original song. Through this deal, their music will be made available to over 100 different countries and placed in over 700 online music stores including iTunes, Napster, and Spotify. This camp is limited to 6 students and is two weeks long. Instructor: Staump Music School Staff Days: Monday - Friday

Youth Sports/Skate Park Camps

Archery Camp

10 - 17 Years

Experience East County's only indoor archery range at LionHeart Academy‘s facility in El Cajon. All the instructors are Level 2 or higher certified by USA Archery and the National Training System. Archers will be shooting arrows daily and improving their skills with a variety of challenging drills and games. Orientation on the first day will include range safety and shooting line etiquette. As the week progresses, archers learn problem solving and self-analysis skills to carry them through a lifetime. In addition, archers will design their own targets and complete the week shooting at balloons. Students should wear a t-shirt, long pants, athletic footwear and bring a water bottle. Fencing Camp

Described as physical chess at 100 mph, fencing is lightning fast and teaches agility, strength, focus and tactical thinking – a sure hit for today’s video gaming generation. Students will learn advancing, retreating, lunging and an assortment of parries. By the last day, students will be wearing full fencing garb and participating in an electric bout scoring points like an Olympian. Fencing camp is taught by Maestro Stuart Lee, certified by the British Academy of Fencing. Students should wear a t-shirt, long pants, athletic footwear and bring a water bottle. Medieval Sword Camp

Your child will learn the history of three famous warrior cultures: Roman soldiers, medieval knights and Mongol nomads. Warrior Camp is produced in partnership with San Diego’s award winning Chivalry Today Educational Program, and gives children a week of active, cooperative play as they imagine themselves becoming one of the heroes from their favorite movie, book or video game. Children learn safety, respect, responsibility, collaboration and the ideals of the code of honor as they take on the many challenges presented in Medieval Sword Camp. 4 - 6 Years Your young child will love attending this fun-filled summer camp. Enjoy creating wonderful art projects using many different types of media. One of our longest running and most successful camps, (aka Top Chef Camp) teaches campers how to make a wide variety of different foods using a wide variety of cooking methods. Campers learn how to perform cooking methods such as proper cutting, boiling, and pan frying in a safe environment, and under the watchful eyes of some of our most experienced teachers. Camper will learn how to make dishes from a variety of different cultures: Latin American, Asian, American, Italian, Indian, and others (regional foods presented in camp depend on our teacher, as each has different regional specialties and themes). We cater to different dietary restrictions and needs, so if your child has any allergies or other dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, lactose intolerant, etc.) please let us know when you register. Follow in their footprints as we equip you with the science skills needed to rise to the top. Together with your teammates you will build super structures, create a volcanic eruption and examine rocks formed from volcanic magma. Soar high above as you build a kite and experiment with lift, aerodynamics and air pressure. Discover the secret behind the stars and make a star chart. Daily Activities Teen Center daily programming consists of a variety of indoor and outdoor recreation activities. Homework assistance and access to the Cox Communication Tech Center is available on a daily basis. Teens at the center are involved in the programming and are encouraged to help design and implement the daily activities.

Professional Staff The center is staffed by City of Santee employees who are certified in first aid and CPR, have completed specialized teen-oriented training and have passed a Department of Justice background check. Our low staff-toparticipant ratio offers a safe, well supervised experience and personal connection with each teen.

Affordable facilities for all occasions Santee Civic Center offers reasonably priced rooms that can accommodate a variety of functions, including banquets, weddings, meetings, parties or other special event. Our three rooms can accommodate groups from 20 to 200 meeting participants. We offer rectangular or round tables with chairs to accommodate your group and have additional rental equipment including dance floor, decorations and other amenities. For an additional fee, staff services are available to assist with equipment set up, breakdown and cleanup at your event. The Civic Center is climate controlled and features ramps and railings for inclusive access. Ample parking is available.

Pet owners can take their pets to BiG Rock Park, Mast Park and Woodglen Vista Park to let their pets exercise without being constricted by a leash during specified days and times. For current information regarding times, days, and rules visit:

Park Pavilions Picnic pavilions at city parks can be reserved by obtaining and purchasing a permit from the Community Services Department. The Voucher Incentive Program (V.I.P.) provides financial assistance, to children, teens, and seniors to participate in city recreation programs. Funding is provided through funds raised by the Santee Park and Recreation Committee (SPARC) and recreation activity donations. To be eligible, applicants must live in Santee and have a total household income that meets U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development guidelines. Applications can be obtained at Santee City Hall, 10601 Magnolia Avenue, Building 6. For more information call (619) 258-4100 ext. 222.

A resident (R) is a person who lives within the city limits of Santee. Residency is based on the address of the class participant, not on the address of the payee. Proof of residency is required. Acceptable documents are: address imprinted on personal check, current property tax bill, utility bill, or driver’s license. (First 100% S atisfaction time registrants only) Non-residents (NR) are welcome to sign up for our programs. YMCA RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT FOR MINORS (FOR DAY CAMP, X-FACTOR, JR LEADERS ONLY) Name of Minor(s) I, the undersigned parent/person having legal custody/guardianship of the above said minor, give permission for the minor to participate in all YMCA programs. The minor is physically able and mentally prepared to participate in all activities as described in the announcement for the program. In consideration of said minor being permitted to enter any branch of the YMCA of San Diego County (YMCA) for observation, use of facilities and/or equipment, or participation of the above in any program, I , on behalf of myself (as parent, guardian, coach, aide, spectator or participant) hereby:1. Acknowledge that (i) I have read this document, (ii) I have inspected the YMCA facilities and equipment, (iii) I accept them as being safe andreasonably suited for the purpose intended and (iv) I voluntarily sign this document. 2. Release the YMCA, it’s directors, officers, employees and volunteers (collectively “Releases”) from all liability to me for any loss or damage to property or injury or death to person, whether caused by Releases or otherwise while I am in or near any YMCA branch. 3. Agree to not sue Releases for any loss, damage, injury or death described above and I will indemnify and hold harmless Releases and each of them from any loss, liability, damage or cost they may incur due to my presence in, upon or near the YMCA branch; whether caused by the negligence of Releases or otherwise. 4. Assume full responsibility for, and risk of, bodily injury, death or property damage due to the negligence of Releases or otherwise. 5. I do hereby authorize the YMCA as agent for the undersigned, to consent with respect to said minor, any x-ray examination, anesthetic, medical, dental, or surgical diagnosis or treatment, and hospital care which is deemed advisable by, and is to be rendered under general or special supervision of any physician and surgeon licensed under the provisions of the California Medical Practice Act on the medical staff of any hospital, whether such diagnosis or treatment is rendered at the office of the physician or at the hospital. I understand that the YMCA is not responsible for costs incurred for medical care. 6. I give the YMCA of San Diego county permission to use any picture or likeness of me, or a picture or likeness of my children, in the YMCA’s general publicity and campaignmaterials. I intend this document to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the laws of the State of California; if any portion hereof is held invalid, I agree the balance shall continue in full force and effect. I understand and acknowledge that participating in boating presents the potential for death, serious injury, and property loss. The risks include, but are not limited to those caused by terrain, facilities, equipment, water temperature, weather, lack of hydration, other boat traffic, and the actions of others, including, but not limited to padre dam workers, other boaters, spectators, and volunteers. I understand and acknowledge that my injuries, death or property loss are solely my responsibility and not the responsibility of padre dam municipal water district. I understand that i am assuming all risks associated with boating at Santee Lakes Recreational Preserve. I acknowledge that this form will be used by Padre Dam Municipal Water District and that it will govern my actions and my responsibilities. In consideration and participation of this event, I hereby waive, release, and discharge from any and all liability for the death, disability, or personal injury to me, the district, its directors, officers, employees, representatives, and agents. I also agree to indemnify and hold harmless, the entities mentioned in this paragraph from any liabilities or claims made by other individuals or entities as a result of my actions while participating in sporting events.
