Senior Group Most Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays 9:00am Active older adults meet to get involved, stay connected and be active. Pre-registration is not required. Enjoy the company of others, make new friends and take advantage of the activities during the week. Monthly calendar available online, or at City Hall, Building 6.

Out and About A day-tripper’s delight, this program is for adventurous older adults who like to explore local and regional destinations within San Diego County. Transportation is not provided, participants are encouraged to carpool or utilize public transportation when available. Pre-registration is required. To pre-register you can sign up at Senior Group or call (619)258-4100 ext. 222. Monthly calendar available online or at Senior Group.

First Wednesday First Wednesday of each month 9:00-11:00am Join Santee Senior Group for a different activity the first Wednesday of each month at the library. Forever Fit Class- Cameron Family YMCA The YMCA has graciously invited our Santee Seniors 55+ group to attend their Forever Fit class for free at 11:15am on Tuesdays on the following dates: 1/9, 2/13 and 3/13.The class is chair-based fitness using seated and standing exercises. The benefits are cognitive health, cardiovascular fitness and muscular strength. Must bring a valid state ID and sign a waiver to attend, the waiver is valid for one year.

Off Broadway Live presents….Dating in the Age of Wrinkles If you think dating as a teenager was difficult, follow these five people as they try to learn the “do’s & don’ts”, and the “rights & wrongs” of dating in an age of wrinkles. Safari Park Bus Trip Come along with us and be tourists in our own county as we visit San Diego Zoo’s Safari Park in Escondido. The park houses a large array of wild and endangered animals including species from the continents of Africa, Asia, Europe, North and South America and Australia. The free-range enclosures house such animals as antelopes, giraffes, buffalo, cranes and rhinoceros. There are also various shows held throughout the day to get a closer look at some of the animals that call the park home.

Bus Trip to the Getty Center The Getty, as locals like to call it, is well known for its architecture, gardens, and views overlooking Los Angeles. The center branch of the Museum features pre-20th-century European paintings, drawings, illuminated manuscripts, sculpture and decorative arts as well as 19th- and 20th-century American, Asian, and European photographs. In addition, the Museum’s collection at the Center includes outdoor sculptures displayed on the terraces and in the gardens including the large Central Garden designed by Robert Irwin. Among the artwork on display is the Vincent Van Gogh painting, Irises.

The center features a 25 meter-by-25-yard swimming pool, an activity pool with play structure, a water slide and water exercise area and locker rooms. This program provides opportunities for socialization, arts and crafts, music and movement games. Basic concepts of recognizing letters, numbers and colors are introduced. Parents must assist at four (4) class meetings as well as field trips.

Affordable facilities for all occasions Santee Civic Center offers reasonably priced rooms that can accommodate a variety of functions, including banquets, weddings, meetings, parties or other special events. Our three rooms can accommodate groups from 20 to 200 participants. We offer rectangular or round tables with chairs to accommodate your group and have additional rental equipment including dance floor, decorations and other amenities. For an additional fee, staff services are available to assist with equipment set up, breakdown and cleanup at your event. The Civic Center is climate controlled and features ramps and railings for inclusive access. Ample parking is available. Financial Assistance The financial assistance resident program provides financial assistance, to children, teens, and seniors to participate in city recreation programs. Funding is provided through funds raised by the Santee Park and Recreation Committee (SPARC) and recreation activity donations. To be eligible, applicants must live in Santee and have a total household income that meets U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development guidelines. In consideration of the acceptance of this registration form for the activities listed, the participant(s) named on this form or his/her legal guardian, agrees as follows: I understand the nature and content of the activity(ies) listed and am aware of the potential dangers incidental to engaging in the program(s). I agree to release, indemnify, defend and hold the City of Santee, its officers, employees, agents, volunteers and independent contractors harmless and free from any and all liability of any nature resulting directly or indirectly from participation in the(se) program(s), including but not limited to liability for any and all demands, damages, claims, suits, liens and judgments, including costs and attorneys’ fees, of whatever nature, or for injury or death of any person, damage to property, or interference with the use of property, arising from or in connection with participation in the program(s). In the unlikely event of a serious injury, emergency medical providers will be directed to properly treat participant(s) and if needed, they will transport participant(s) to the hospital. Your signature below satisfies the following requirements: It authorizes staff to seek necessary medical attention for participant(s) in an emergency. It confirms the information on this form is correct to the best of your knowledge. I permit the Community Services Department to use and publish photographs and/or videotapes of me and/or my children for purposes of presenting recreation activities to the community and to promote the recreation program to prospective clients and/or participants. I also give permission to release such photographs and/or videotapes to the news media in support of the program. I have carefully read this Indemnity, Release, Waiver and Assumption of Risk Agreement and fully understand its contents and understand that it shall be binding upon me, my heirs, successors and assigns. I am aware that this is a full release of liability and sign it of my own free will. THE CITY OF SANTEE DOES NOT HAVE OR PROVIDE MEDICAL OR ACCIDENTAL INSURANCE FOR PERSONS INVOLVED IN PROGRAMS SPONSORED BY THE CITY OF SANTEE’S DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY SERVICES.

I wish to rent and temporarily use certain watercraft from padre dam municipal water district. I understand and acknowledge that participating in boating presents the potential for death, serious injury, and property loss. The risks include, but are not limited to those caused by terrain, facilities, equipment, water temperature, weather, lack of hydration, other boat traffic, and the actions of others, including, but not limited to padre dam workers, other boaters, spectators, and volunteers. I understand and acknowledge that my injuries, death or property loss are solely my responsibility and not the responsibility of padre dam municipal water district. I understand that i am assuming all risks associated with boating at santee lakes recreational preserve. I acknowledge that this form will be used by padre dam municipal water district and that it will govern my actions and my responsibilities. In consideration and participation of this event, i hereby waive, release, and discharge from any and all liability for the death, disability, or personal injury to me, the district, its directors, officers, employees, representatives, and agents. I also agree to indemnify and hold harmless, the entities mentioned in this paragraph from any liabilities or claims made by other individuals or entities as a result of my actions while participating in sporting events. This waiver, release, and discharge covers my personal rights. I understand that i am giving up substantial rights by signing this waiver and release of liability. I CERTIFY that my child will only participate in boating activities un the supervision of City of Santee staff.
