The City Manager’s Office has held a couple of Community Meetings in recent months and we’d like to thank you for sharing your input on topics such as homelessness, economic development, public safety, crime and fire prevention. We value your input and will be working on areas that you have mentioned during those community meetings such as providing more public notice on service done in your neighborhoods, conducting more one-onone discussions at tables with Staff during the Community Meetings and tapping into the Community for more assistance in cleaning up blight and creating safer neighborhoods as well as improving content in the Weekly that you’re reading right now with more substantial articles. These changes won’t happen overnight but we are listening and working on them! Our next community meeting will be for Districts 1 and and 2 but as always, all community members are welcome and we will cover the same topics with updates while incorporating new issues that you would like to talk about in our question and answer period at the end of each meeting. The next Community Meeting will take place December 13th from 6 to 8 PM at Griffin Drive Church of Christ in Vallejo. Hope you are enjoying the holidays with your loved ones! Respectfully, Mike Malone Vallejo City Manager

HUMANE SOCIETY PETs OF THE WEEK LUCKY

Vallejo Weekly

American Staffordshire Terrier, Male, Adult

1

Meet Lucky! This handsome fellow is a 6-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix. He has a short coat and an athletic, 53-pound build. His foster family describes him as friendly, smart, easy-going, affectionate and loyal. Lucky LOVES going on walks, getting belly rubs and giving kisses! Lucky is dog- and kid-friendly (10+) and completely house-trained. He thrives on human companionship, and while he doesn't need a canine companion to be happy, he would make a great second dog — particularly for a dog with an active play style! Lucky's two current foster-mates are senior dogs and aren't playful, but Lucky has been respectful and adapted accordingly. Lucky is both eager to please and to fit in. In short, Lucky is a really special dog! To meet Lucky, go to HSNB.org and fill out a dog adoption interest application. For a list of our available cats and dogs, go to HSNB.org and click on the Adoptions tab. We welcome potential adopters to browse available animals on our website and if interested, download an application. Email cat applications to catadoptions@hsnb.org and dog applications to adoptions@hsnb.org. Pets are available at time of article submission. We cannot guarantee they will be available upon publication. Humane Society of the North Bay is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. We are located at 1121 Sonoma Blvd., Vallejo. We are open by appointment, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily, with up to two Open Shelter Saturdays per month. We are actively seeking fosters for our pets in need, and we are always seeking donations to help us do the life-saving work we do.
