message from mike Hello, Vallejo,

Vallejo Weekly

Hope you’re enjoying the holiday season and all the festivities with your families. The front cover photo for the Weekly was shot by Manny Angel, who is a talented Vallejo native and our City Media Service Specialist. You’ll often see him managing all the video and audio for our important meetings. In fact, one of those meetings just happened this past Monday in the Council Chambers with the special visit from 11th District Assemblymember Lori D. Wilson. I’d like to personally thank Assemblymember Wilson for her collaboration with our Staff and bringing her successful meet-and-greet event to Vallejo. We look forward to working with your Staff on the many issues discussed such as Homelessness and Public Safety. We are determined to strengthen the partnerships with your Office to improve the quality of life for Vallejo residents! We also look forward to our next Community Meeting on December 13th for Districts 1 and 2 (all residents welcome), 6-8 pm at the Griffin Drive Church of Christ. Staff will discuss many updates on topics such as Crime, Economic Development and Measure P. A few highlights from the Vallejo Police Department include a recent Grant awarded to help with Traffic Safety and the VPD being accepted into the U.S. Department of Justice’s National Public Safety Partnership that will help enhance services to combat violent crime and improve prosecutions in these cases. We hope to see you at the Community Meeting next week! Respectfully, Mike Malone Vallejo City Manager 1

HUMANE SOCIETY PETs OF THE WEEK JOHNNY Domestic Shorthair, Male, Young

Vallejo Weekly

Well, hello, Johnny! This grey Tabby cutie is small in stature (at least so far) but he has a big personality! He's only 4 months old, so we predict he will grow into a wonderful companion cat. Johnny is currently enjoying the comforts of a foster home, but he is still looking for the person or family who will give him their heart, and home, forever. Johnny is neutered and up to date on his shots. If you'd like meet Johnny, go to HSNB.org and fill out a cat adoption interest application.

HUMANE SOCIETY PETs OF THE WEEK MICKEY Dachshund/Chihuahua Mix, Male, Young

Vallejo Weekly

Meet Mickey! This handsome guy is quite the catch. Mickey is a 1-year-old Dachshund/Chihuahua charmer who is too humble to brag (so we'll do it for him). According to his finder, Mickey is housebroken and friendly to the large and small dog he briefly shared the home with. He even slept with her cat! Mickey is also super cuddly, loves to go on walks, and gives the best kisses. If Mickey sounds like your kinda guy, go to HSNB.org, and fill out a dog interest application.
