This year, it’s not just about eating, drinking, and watching the sky, but they’ll also be featuring The Project 4 Band, a local favorite with the sounds of funk, soul, and R&B!

PLUS - DRONE SOCCER! Yes! There will be Drone Soccer exhibits at 6 pm, 7 pm and 8 pm with fun opportunities for kids to learn how to use a drone. Join Mare Island Co. and watch the national champions, the Sato Drone Soccer Team, play 4 v 4 "soccer."

The Mad Hatter’s July 4th Waterfront Celebration’s Maritime Dog Parade

Bring fido and dress them up and parade them alongside the Mad Hatter Mascot along with other furry friends and enjoy all the cultural and live performances at the Mad Hatter’s July 4th Waterfront Celebration from 11:00 till the skies light up in celebration of Independence Day!

The Maritime Dog Parade is hosted by Mugsy’s

Pet Supply & Barkery in Downtown Vallejo at 507 Georgia Street – register your dog entry via email or at the store and received drawing tickets for raffle prizes for your furry companion!

Email registration: mugsyspetsupply@gmail. com. entrees will get one raffle ticket for a drawing or 2 tickets if signing up at the store location.

The Maritime Dog Parage takes place by the Vallejo Waterfront after the main July 4th Parade at 1:00 PM.

DON't FORGET TO VOTE for a PB Project - VOTE CLOSES THIS FRIDAY!!!!

The Cycle 8 Participatory Budgeting (PB) Vote kicked off on May 6 with an in-person polling booth at the Cinco de Mayo Festivities in downtown Vallejo. THE PB VOTE CLOSES TOMORROW, JUNE 30 SO BE SURE TO GET YOUR VOTE IN ASAP!

Vallejo residents, including those living in the unincorporated areas, are invited to vote on which community projects to improve the City will go to Council for funding approval.

Residents are allowed to vote for up to two projects on the 10-proposal ballot. Projects fall into the following categories:

INFRASTRUCTURE (e.g., park updates, street safety improvements, etc.)

PROGRAMS AND SERVICES (e.g., youth programs, spay and neuter services, etc.)

Residents 14 years and older can vote online at www.pbvallejo.org, or in-person in City Hall, and a cell phone number and valid Vallejo address are required for online voting.

The Cycle 8 ballot is the outcome of a 6-month process in which Vallejo volunteers and City staff liaisons screened, evaluated, and researched approximately 400 ideas submitted by community members.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION / IDEAL CANDIDATE:

The ideal candidate will be an outstanding communicator with sufficient experience in community engagement/public outreach within a public agency. While not required,

a Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, public administration, or related field is desirable. Community engagement/public outreach experience specific to Water is also desirable. The Administrative Analyst (Public Engagement Coordinator) will be proficient in the use of presentation applications such as PowerPoint, Google Slides, Canva, etc., and have outstanding written and verbal skills, including the ability to translate complex and technical information to the public. From time to time, the Public Engagement Coordinator will be required to attend public meetings and workshops, for outreach and public engagement in connection with various projects for the Water Department. Some meetings may be in the evenings and weekends.

The City of Vallejo is excited to announce that its municipal broadband service, formerly known as "VallejoNet," has been rebranded as "VIP Fiber."

This rebranding initiative is part of the City's ongoing efforts to position Vallejo as a hub for technological innovation and to reflect its commitment to providing high-quality, reliable internet service to its residents and businesses. With VIP Fiber, Vallejo will continue providing customers with the same fast and affordable internet service they have known and loved, backed by great local customer support and technical expertise.

The new name, VIP Fiber, better reflects the premium level of service and cutting-edge fiber optic technology that Vallejo's community can expect from this broadband service. Additionally, please sign up for a service quote today and get added to the alerts and updates for when VIP Fiber service is available in your area of Vallejo.

Customers who are Onnet and currently serviceable by the existing fiber network can expect to see up to a 30% saving on their services compared to their current provider. Customers that are Offnet and not currently serviceable will soon be able to access VIP Fiber's fast and reliable internet service as the City continues its investment in expanding the fiber optic network.
